“And then the world exploded.”
Fifty years ago, Stephen King published a slim novel about a lonely girl finding her power and the world of horror has never been the same. We all know the story by now. Outcast Carrie White gets bullied by her classmates and abused by her ultra-religious mother. Good Girl Sue Snell convinces her boyfriend to take Carrie to prom in her place. Mean Girl Chris Hargenson orchestrates a plot to get Carrie voted Prom Queen then coronates her with a bucket of pig’s blood. They all laugh and Carrie unleashes her deadly powers of telekinesis. King’s story of high school morality and bloody revenge has woven itself into the fabric of American life, extending its reach well past genre limits. To mark this milestone, The Losers’ Club celebrates the birth of a legend with a Twinner book episode on the 1974 novel Carrie.

The World of Stephen King is vast, and as all of his constant readers know, ‘All things serve the Beam.’ And one of King’s most creepy, unsettling, and popular novels is It, which has had a mini-series adaptation from the ’90s and two recent film versions directed by Andy Muschietti. One of the more inventive interpretations of this story has come in the form of two distinct escape room experiences.
Situated not far off from the glitz and glamour of the Las Vegas Strip, an unsuspecting building holds what may be the ultimate experience in escape rooms and pushes these attractions to a new level. JoBlo was lucky enough to fly down to Sin City to participate in the unique puzzle world of Escape It. Now, we won’t be spoiling any of the puzzles or the experience as a whole, but if you wish to be completely surprised,...

"It" is one of Stephen King's most beloved novels. The horror story has terrified readers since it debuted in 1986. "It" features some of the most disturbing moments that King has ever created, and that's no small statement. While the story itself is horrifying, "It" explores the lasting impact of childhood trauma. The coming-of-age elements make "It" one of King's most heartfelt stories. Children and adults can feel inspired by seeing the Losers' Club overcome their fears.
Given the book's popularity, a film adaptation was nearly guaranteed. "It" was first adapted as a two-part miniseries in 1990, starring Tim Curry as Pennywise the Clown. The first episode showed the youthful adventures of the Losers' Club, and the second episode flashed forward to their time as adults. While there is a lot of nostalgia for the 1990 "It," the miniseries doesn't quite capture all the nuances that made the novel so beloved.

Amongst innumerable adaptations of Stephen King’s literature floating ubiquitously like creepy red balloons in the contemporary ether, director Andy Muschietti’s 2017 updated, polished big screen rendition of It stands out as one of the most prominent and profitable. However, the film—which was followed up with 2019’s It: Chapter Two—was the end product of almost a decade’s worth of permutations under various creative forces. One such force was Cary Fukunaga, who, before tackling HBO’s True Detective and upcoming Bond film No Time to Die, served as director and co-writer until creative clashes with studio New Line. Interestingly, Fukunaga now elaborates on the exact nature of said clashes.
The choice of initial studio Warner Bros. for Fukunaga for It was contemporaneously bold in 2012, seeing as he was relatively new, coming off only his second feature, 2011’s adaptation of Charlotte Brontë novel Jane Eyre. After all, this was...

This time on Top 5 Movie Mistakes, we're looking at the 2017 adaptation of one of Stephen King's most lauded books, It. Previously brought to the small screen with the 1990 miniseries starring Tim Curry as the iconic villain Pennywise the Clown, the 2017 film was met with high acclaim and commercial success. Swedish actor Bill Skarsgard breathed new and wonderful life into Pennywise, the child actors portraying the Losers' Club were believable and funny, and the film went…...

We are in a new age of Stephen King adaptations, with dozens of novels and stories from the legendary author being developed for the screen as either movies, limited series or ongoing TV shows. One of the best to come out of the gate so far was director/co-writer Andy Muschietti’s 2017 adaptation of King’s mammoth It -- or rather, half of King’s 1,100-page doorstop. The book deals with a group of misfit friends who confront an ancient, evil creature in the town of Derry, Maine, both as 12-year-old children and then, 27 years later, as adults, with King’s book relating the two stories parallel to each other.
Like the first half of the well-regarded two-part 1990 TV miniseries, the movie focused exclusively on the so-called Losers' Club as kids,...

The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon is getting the movie treatment. What Stephen King story isn't these days?
The Stephen King movie renaissance will continue with an adaptation of the writer's 1999 novel The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon. The project is still in its early days, according to THR, and the search for a writer to pen the script is underway.
The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon tells the surprisingly uplifting story of a 9-year-old girl named Trisha who is lost in the woods after straying from her mother and brother during a hiking trip. Forced to survive on her own, Trisha is inspired by her favorite baseball player, former Red Sox pitcher Tom Gordon, to face off against the God of the Lost, an evil entity which she believes is hunting her. Needless to say, fans of the It movies' resourceful young heroes, the Losers' Club,...

We've dissected the It Chapter Two trailer for all of its secrets. Here's what we found...
The It Chapter Two trailer is finally here to haunt us all the way to September. The second part of this Stephen King movie adaptation sees Pennywise the Clown in fine form, back from the dead and absolutely loving it. The Losers' Club isn't so happy about it though, as our heroes are all grown-up and forced to return to Maine to face the terror waiting in the sewers of Derry.
While the movie is still a few months away, this first trailer comes with many secrets and story hints that tease how things will play out for the characters and King's greatest monster. We've gone through the trailer again and found a handful of things that will jump right out at you if you're a Constant Reader as...

As fans of It (2017) (and the Stephen King book of the same name) know, there are many forms the titular entity takes to scare the life out of those unfortunate enough to cross its path, and Funko has now made it possible to collect multiple depictions of the ancient evil in Derry in a new It-themed Mystery Mini series featuring the Losers' Club and the many versions of their nightmarish nemesis, including several editions of Pennywise.
From Funko: "Celebrate the season of frights and ghouls by heading into the lair of Pennywise the Dancing Clown. The It-themed Mystery Mini series includes Richie, Beverly, Eddie, Bill, Stan, Mike, Henry Bowers, Georgie, Georgie with a missing arm, Pennywise with spider legs, Pennywise with a balloon, Pennywise as a painting, Pennywise dancing, Pennywise as a zombie and Ben with a letter, varying in rarity between 1/12 to 1/72. Collect them all before Pennywise collects you!

The Losers' Club is now complete, as the final role of the adult versions of the tight-knit group of friends from 2017's It has now been cast.
Variety reports that Isaiah Mustafa will play the adult version of Mike Hanlon in It: Chapter Two. The teenage version of Mike, a homeschooled butcher's assistant, was played by Chosen Jacobs in 2017's It. Mike was played by Marlon Taylor and Tim Reid in the 1990 Stephen King's It miniseries.
Mustafa plays Luke Garroway on Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments, and you may also recognize him from the popular Old Spice commercials in the early 2010s.
Set nearly three decades after the 1989 setting of the latest It film and based on the epic 1986 Stephen King novel, the It sequel will begin filming this summer with Andy Muschietti returning as director and Bill Skarsgård reprising his role as the murderous clown Pennywise, one of the...
