The story was developed in a bus during a school trip in summer 2003.
Kerstin Knauer created the amazing Buddha figure out of clay. This figure was 50cm long and she took a plaster cast. Max Muenkwitz says: "I poured silicone out and in the middle I put a kind of skeleton made of brass tubing and wires in that thing." When the Buddha was finished the team removed their studio from the kitchen of the Muenkwitz' to the basement of his grandparents. Between preserving jars and cartons filled with Christmas stuff, it was the ideal place to do work for a whole month. They did the Stop-Motion-Animation and shot 21.827 detail screens. Finally at the compositing Torsten Lenz added them to the huge army.
For the big victory celebration of the US President Vincent Strehlow composed a march about the German children's song "Alle meine Entchen".
Since the budget was just 3000 euros, director Torsten Lenz did nearly everything himself, including production management, camera work, lighting, editing, sound design and visual effects.
The crew used a modified handcart as a dolly.
