According to The Hollywood Reporter, Liu stayed committed to TV dramas but flipped networks by joining the CBS Sherlock Holmes pilot Elementary. Liu signed on to play Watson, alongside Jonny Lee Miller as Sherlock Holmes. Robert Doherty boarded Elementary, a reboot of Sherlock Holmes into present-day New York City, as writer and executive producer along with Sarah Timberman and Carl Beverly. With Elementary, Liu became the first woman to play Holmes’ assistant Watson. In addition to Elementary, Liu will also be seen in the upcoming drama Meena.
