A Goonie Fans Dream!!
INCESSANT12 July 2010
Let me start by saying that I am a HUGE Goonies fan. I watch the movie a lot and collect memorabilia.

I love the documentary and commentary on the Goonies DVD, however it left me wanting more!

THIS IS THE 'MORE'!

I was so excited to hear about this project and had great expectations for this documentary. I am happy to report that not only did this Documentary meet my expectations, it blew me away! I felt like I had the cast for a 1 on 1 Q+A in my living room!

The film makers really got the actors to open up and be candid. I laughed a lot and it really made me feel like I was a part of this movie with all of the inside knowledge.

The only disappointment would be the absence of a few cast members, most notably Josh Brolin. However, the others are so fun and tell such great stories about all the actors, that I didn't care as much in the end.

I will say that this definitely leaves you wanting more, which is GREAT, because once the 24 minutes flies by, you can go to the special features and see the full interviews (or longer versions at least).

Overall, this is a MUST HAVE DVD for any Goonie fan.

The Making of a Cult Classic: The Unauthorized Story of 'The Goonies' (2010)

*** 1/2 (out of 4)

Richard Donnor, Sean Astin, Corey Feldman, Robert Davi, Joe Pantoliano, Lupe Ontiveros and Jeff Cohen are among the people interviewed for this twenty-four minute documentary that takes a look at the making of THE GOONIES.

It seems this came about because so many fans were disappointed in the extras for the original DVD release. This here is quite nice as there are some major names from the film who appear here and it's always great getting to hear them talk about the making of the film. There's some nice discussions on the original casting, the production, an alternate ending as well as some scenes that were shot by Spielberg but not used in the film.

What's contained within the 24-minutes is certainly a lot of fun but I do wish this had lasted longer. You've got so many of the main people here that it's too bad this didn't last a bit longer.
