Every review of Kris Canonizado’s Waldo The Dog starts off with some wild claim for the film, so here’s mine: Kris Canonizado’s Waldo The Dog is one weird godd*amn film. Plain and simple. It’s fringe cinema at its uniquest, a daring staple in the indie world. It’s a film that is a polarizing debut feature film that will split viewers down the middle. It’s one of those films where some people will adore it, others will flat out hate it. The film is incredibly odd, yet heartfelt and tragic, something you would not get from its synopsis: A guilt ridden young man hides behind a dog mask.
