- Open with Liz expressing concern to Jack that the new cast member is due to arrive that day and she still has no idea what he can do or how talented he might be. A giddy Kenneth tells them the new guy just showed up.
The new guy, Jack Baker, walks in the door and Jack immediately changes his name to Danny. Danny is Canadian and hasn't done any real acting for years. Danny offers to get his own lunch and even get something for Kenneth while he's out. This completely freaks Kenneth out.
Liz and Jack have dinner together. He tells her there is interest in a Dealbreakers talk show. She tells Jack to move forward with a pilot.
On set Jenna and Tracy tell Liz she should take more meetings and not just take Jack's first offer. The two actors are so proud of themselves for giving Liz such good advice that they refer to themselves as the "The Problem Solvers."
Liz tells Jack she is signing with an agent and wants to look around. Jack seems upset by this development.
Liz has lunch with her agent, a nerdy young guy named Simon who to that point has mostly represented dogs. Simon doesn't appear to have any connections.
After Kenneth complains, Jenna and Tracy talk to Danny about trying to do too many things for himself. Danny used to be an assistant and doesn't want to take advantage of Kenneth. He tells The Problem Solvers it's always possible Kenneth could one day be their boss. They laugh at this.
Jack tells Liz that, since NBC owns the rights to the name, he is moving forward with a Dealbreakers show whether she is involved or not.
Kenneth tells Tracy his dream is to one day be in charge. This makes Tracy think he should do things for himself so Kenneth doesn't resent him.
Jack has The Problem Solvers tell Liz she needs to crawl back to him. Liz tells them Simon is working on suing NBC for the right to make the show herself.
Jack goes over Simon's head and convinces his attorneys not to go ahead with the lawsuit or he will shut them out of all dog-related television. Jack already has a meeting scheduled with a possible replacement for Liz.
Tracy tells Liz he can set her up with Scotty, the producer of a popular sports show. Jenna also doesn't want Kenneth to do anything for him, which sets Kenneth off. Kenneth goes to Danny and in Darth Vader-like fashion almost instantly turns Danny into a selfish actor. Kenneth gets The Problems Solvers to go back to demanding thing from him and everyone is happy
Liz meets with Scotty while Jack sits down with Padma Lakshmi about hosting Dealbreakers. Scotty doesn't seem to care about Liz and she notices. Realizing how great of a gig Dealbreakers will be for the potential host, Jack would rather help Liz than Padma.
Jack goes to Liz and tells her he wants to do the show with her after all. Liz agrees.
