Here we are at the crossroads, or rather the two way road where Fiona has to decide whether she can continue being Kip's wife or move in with Austin Clarke, a down-to-earth Scottish mogul who falls head over heels for her. Fiona was contacted by the mogul after he experienced problems in finding the right girl for him since he cared more for the brains than the booty. Fiona herself is a barren woman who hasn't slept with Kip in the last three years and is more interested in money and luxury than anything else. Austin is flying most of the time, either to meet the Queen or the Prince, but he is so impressed by the Fiona that he is ready to forsake all his trips for her. Again, Fiona finds a way to promote her book and artfully asks him to comment on her book after she sends it to him 'by mistake' and tells him not to look at page three after he has opened the book. All this is meticulously planned as she dedicates the book to Austin for inspiring her (how in the world did he inspire her?) so that he is all the more keen to publish her book. We also see Kip for the first time and he has been made the governor of Philadelphia, something that has been his dream since he was young, and this gives his wife Fiona a lot more privilege than she would get marrying Austin. So it is a Sophie's choice, rather a temporary Sophie's Choice for her!
For the first time, the comedy is subdued in Web Therapy and we find more of romance. There is the usual blushing and gushing over, but it is creased with humor because we know Fiona's intentions already. The third part is where Fiona is wedged between Kip and Clarke and Lisa plays this scene quite well. Austin Clarke and Victor Garber are played equally well by Cumming and Garber. It is funny how Fiona can get fooled so easily by this man, who says that his office people were interested in transvestite products and he was blackmailed by a begrudged employee to join a gay site. This gullible nature of Fiona is covered in the next episode, the first in the third season, where she encounters the vamp Robin again. I would also give credit to the sets in all the episodes here, because they have been consistently well suited for the various situations till now. The writing is markedly better, though the dialogs still drag unnecessarily and there are those uncomfortable confusions between the actors while they are improvising.
