The bedroom scenes of the main characters were planned with windows. However, when on scene, at the actual bedrooms of both the main characters, Paul and Chelsea, there were no windows because they both lived in the basements of their houses.
During the filming of the CLOSE-UP piano sequences Paul Zegarac's (Peter Little) body is seen, but when closing in on the hands it is actually those of John Huebner, the Associate Producer.
The Artist was written two years before it was actually shot. One day director, Conrad Faraj was searching through his old story ideas and realized that he could make "The Artist" come to life. He also had a preliminary working script which was then sent to writer/producer, Bash Naran for reformatting and more scenes. This new and formatted script was then finally sent to writer/producer Meg Quisenberry who brought the film down to Earth and added her touch of reality.
The film was originally written in 2007, and the script went through major changes by 3 different writers.
