Exclusive: Emmy and Golden Globe-winning actress Sarah Snook has set her next big project following the conclusion of HBO’s hit series Succession.
Snook will star in and executive produce Peacock’s upcoming suburban thriller series All Her Fault in the lead role of “Marissa.” Megan Gallagher serves as writer, creator and executive producer of the project adapted from the best-selling novel of the same name by Andrea Mara.
All Her Fault opens on a plausibly terrifying situation that eventually unearths the deep secrets of a community. Marissa Irvine arrives at 14 Arthur Avenue, expecting to pick up her young son Milo from his first playdate with a boy at his new school. But the woman who answers the door isn’t a mother she recognizes. She isn’t the nanny. She doesn’t have Milo. And so begins every parent’s worst nightmare.
Minkie Spiro is set to direct the first episode, among others and executive produce. EPs also include Nigel Marchant, Gareth Neame and Joanna Strevens for Carnival Films, Jennifer Gabler Rawlings and Christine A. Sacani, producer Terry Gould and associate producer, Andrea Mara, who wrote the novel All Her Fault. Universal International Studio, a division of Universal Studio Group, is the studio.
Snook was most recently seen on-stage at London’s Theatre Royal Haymarket on The West End in the award-winning play The Picture of Dorian Gray. For her performance, she was awarded an Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Play.
Last year, Snook was seen in the final season of the HBO award-winning series Succession. For her portrayal of ‘Shiv Roy’ across the show’s four seasons, she received an Emmy, two Golden Globe Awards and two Critics Choice Awards. She also flexed her voice acting skills in Hulu’s animated series Koala Man. Her TV credits also include the Australian drama series The Beautiful Lie, AMC’s anthology drama series Soulmates, and an episode of Netflix’s Black Mirror.
On the big screen, Sarah co-starred in Danny Boyle’s Steve Jobs alongside Michael Fassbender and Kate Winslet; the science-fiction thriller Predestination alongside Ethan Hawk; and Kornél Mundruczó’s Pieces of a Woman alongside Vanessa Kirby.
Snook is represented by UTA and Omni Artists Ltd.

The Other Black Girl will not return.
Hulu has canceled the comedy series based on the book of the same name by Zakiya Dalila Harris after a single season, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
First put in development in April 2020 before Tara Duncan signed on to serve as president of Disney’s Bipoc-focused studio Onyx Collective, the 10-episode satirical comedy about the publishing world dropped its full season in September to impressive reviews. The series currently has an 86 percent rating among critics on Rotten Tomatoes, though audiences seem to have rejected The Other Black Girl with that score sitting at a lackluster 50 percent among viewers.
Danielle Henderson (Sorry for Your Loss) originally was set to serve as showrunner but was ultimately replaced by Jordan Reddout and Gus Hickey. Exec producers on the series included Onyx’s Duncan, Rashida Jones, Temple Hill’s Marty Bowen and Wyck Godfrey, Adam Fishbach and author Harris.

Through its first six seasons, identifying who voiced one of the many aliens, critters, or goobers on Rick and Morty was a pretty easy thing to do. That’s because, in addition to performing as the titular lead characters, co-creator Justin Roiland also embodied most of the show’s strange background players.
Following season 6, however, Roiland was fired from the series due to receiving domestic battery charges (later dropped) and multiple allegations of sexual assault. With Roiland gone, multiple actors have stepped in to fill the roles of Rick, Morty, and the whole other host of characters from the Adult Swim hit’s increasingly large constellation of galaxies, timelines, and multiverses. Even without the personnel change midway through, Rick and Morty‘s cast of voice actors was already pretty confusing beast to make sense of. So let’s try to do exactly that.

Fall TV may be in an unusual place thanks to delays caused by the WGA strike and the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, but one show is coming back exactly as planned: “Rick and Morty.” The adored Adult Swim comedy will return for its seventh season Sunday.
It’s a twist of irony that “Rick and Morty,” a series that was once notorious for its unpredictable schedule, has emerged as one of the few shows to reliably return during the fall season. But the sci-fi comedy won’t be entering Season 7 unscathed. Following the domestic violence and abuse allegations against its former co-creator, executive producer and star, this will be the first season not to involve Justin Roiland. Here’s everything to know about the return of Adult Swim’s crown jewel.

According to Dan Harmon, the last time he spoke to his “Rick and Morty” co-creator Justin Roiland was over text in 2019. The executive producer described the conversation as “unprecedentedly confrontational” in a profile with The Hollywood Reporter.
Additionally, Harmon has spoken out about the allegations against his co-creator for the very first time. “I would feel so safe and comfortable making this about me, but that trick is worthless here and dangerous to others,” Harmon said. “It’s other people’s safety and comfort that got damaged while I obsessed over a cartoon’s quality. Trust has now been violated between countless people and a show designed to please them. I’m frustrated, ashamed and heartbroken that a lot of hard work, joy and passion can be leveraged to exploit and harm strangers.”
The profile documents the rift between the two co-creators that happened around Season 2 of the sci-fi comedy.

“Rick and Morty” has dropped a Season 7 trailer that features the new voices for the duo originated by creator Justin Roiland.
“Rick and Morty are back and sounding more like themselves than ever! It’s Season 7, and the possibilities are endless: what’s up with Jerry? Evil Summer?! And will they ever go back to the high school?! Maybe not! But let’s find out! There’s probably less piss than last season. ‘Rick and Morty,’ 100 years! Or at least until season 10!” the official season description states.
Roiland, who has voiced both titular characters since the long-running animated series premiered back in 2013, was charged with felony domestic violence related to an incident that first surfaced in a January 2020 criminal complaint.
Following the news, Adult Swim cut ties with Roiland but noted that the show would continue without his involvement. In February, an individual with knowledge of the matter told TheWrap...

As Hollywood’s major studios and the Writers Guild of America prepare to reopen negotiations after almost 100 days of the WGA strike, many picketers find themselves hopeful to some degree.
“We think it’s good. We’re out here, we’re putting pressure on these companies. I think their strategy didn’t work out,” WGA captain Noah Schechter told TheWrap Wednesday while picketing at Sony Studios. “I think they thought SAG was gonna make a bad deal for their members then they’d be able to put more pressure on us. So I think they’re realizing they’ve got two unions with a lot of strength, a lot of solidarity, and hopefully we can find a compromise, a negotiation that will make this business sustainable for writers and help the studios do what they do best which is entertainment.”

Years ago, “Rick and Morty” co-creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon could fill every seat at their San Diego Comic-Con panels with eager fans hungry for any tiny detail about the animated series with a cult-like following. While this year’s panel in the Hilton Bayfront’s Indigo Ballroom was once again packed, there was an air of uncertainty regarding the series’ future as the panelists were hesitant to give many (if any) details on what’s next for their space odyssey.
In January of 2023, Adult Swim terminated their relationship with Roiland, who also voiced the titular characters, after he was charged with domestic violence. “Adult Swim has ended its association with Justin Roiland,” the network said in a statement. Hulu also dropped him from “Solar Opposites,” which he co-created, and “Koala Man.” The charges against Roiland were dismissed in March.

“Solar Opposites” may feature a new voice in its core lineup, but it’s just as ridiculous as ever. The Season 4 trailer teases more of the shenanigans the series is known for, this time with Dan Stevens replacing Justin Roiland as the voice of Korvo. The animated comedy returns Aug. 14.
After briefly addressing Korvo being hit with a “voice fixing ray,” the trailer skips along to business as usual for Hulu’s animated comedy. Terry (Thomas Middleditch) and Korvo (Stevens) almost kill their baby-like charge, the Pupa, by leaving him in a hot car. Jesse (Mary Mack) adds more shrunken humans to her wall collection. Terry turns into a human, complete with a butthole. If all of this sounds insane, that’s the vibe.
In January, 20th Century Animation and Hulu Originals confirmed Justin Roiland would be removed from “Solar Opposites” and “Koala Man” and that both series would continue without his involvement.

Hulu’s “Solar Opposites” has found a new voice actor to replace Justin Roiland.

Rounding out the rest of the cast is Thomas Middleditch (Terry), Sean Giambrone (Yumyulack) and Mary Mack (Jesse).

The TV academy has honored voice-only performances since 1992, when six cast members from “The Simpsons” collectively became the first actors to receive Emmys for such work. The Best Voice-Over Performance category became an official non-juried one in 2009 and was then split into two categories in 2014: Best Character Voice-Over and Best Narrator. Harry Shearer (“The Simpsons”) was the former category’s first champion, having been nominated once before for the same series.
The 2023 Best Character Voice-Over ballot consists of 148 performances, which is down by 74 from last year. The Writers Guild is taking its first step toward a potential industry strike.
The union has set a strike authorization vote, with online polls opening April 11 at 8:30 p.m. and closing April 17 at 12 p.m., the guild announced to members on Monday. While a strike authorization vote does not ensure a writers strike will occur, it does gauge members’ willingness to cease work if the union deems a strike necessary. If a large portion of members supports a potential strike, that could improve writers’ leverage in their ongoing talks with the studios and streamers. As such, the guild was widely expected to call the vote at some point during a round of negotiations that many members consider pivotal for shoring up the future of their profession.

After domestic violence charges against Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland led to him being removed from the series, it’s now been reported that those charges have been dismissed. “This case was dismissed as a result of insufficient evidence to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt,” said Orange County District Attorney’s office spokesperson Kimberly Edds.

After charges of domestic violence against “Rick and Morty” co-creator Justin Roiland were dropped on Wednesday, the writer and producer said he is “still deeply shaken by the horrible lies that were reported about me during this process” and that he is “disappointed” in friends and colleagues who believed the worst about him.
As Roiland wrote in a statement shared to Twitter, “I have always known that these claims were false – and I never had any doubt that this day would come.” While he said he was thankful that the case has been dismissed, he wrote, “Most of all, I am deeply disappointed that so many people were so quick to judge without knowing the facts, based solely on the word of an embittered ex trying to bypass due justice and have me ‘canceled.'”
Adult Swim, 20th TV Animation, and Hulu Originals cut ties with Roiland in January after the charges were filed.

Nearly two years after domestic violence allegations were made against Rick & Morty co-creator Justin Roiland, the Orange County District Attorney’s office on Wednesday dismissed the charges, which Roiland insists were based “solely on the word of an embittered ex.”
“We dismissed the charges today as a result of having insufficient evidence to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt,” a spokesperson for O.C. D.A. Todd Spitzer told Deadline of the semi-sealed matter first filed in May 2020.
Having been pink-slipped from most of his gigs over the charges, Roiland could have been sentenced to up to seven years behind bars and face big fines if found guilty.
That’s now old news, but for Roiland the drawn-out matter is clearly far from closed.
Taking to social media this afternoon with a tweet entitled “justice,” the voice of scientist Rick & Morty’s scientist Rick Sanchez said he was “deeply shaken by these lies.

“Rick and Morty” creator Justin Roiland has been cleared of domestic violence charges, Variety confirms. Kimberly Edds, spokeswoman for the Orange County District Attorney’s office, said in a statement: “We dismissed the charges today as a result of having insufficient evidence to prove the case beyond a reasonable doubt.”
Roiland took to social media to respond to the dropped charges, writing in a statement that he is “thankful the case has been dismissed. He added, “I’m still deeply shaken by the horrible lies that were reported about me during this process.”

“Rick and Morty” is expected to fulfill its 70-episode order despite Adult Swim’s recent decision to cut ties with creator Justin Roiland, who has been charged with felony domestic violence related to an incident that first surfaced in a January 2020 criminal complaint.
An individual with knowledge of the matter told TheWrap that Roiland has been less involved in the series in recent years, but affirmed that not only is “Rick and Morty” moving forward, the series also is not expected to cut short its expansive episode order. There are 40 episodes left to produce and air from the initial 70-episode order.
Roiland has voiced both titular characters since the series premiered back in 2013, though the source noted that those roles will be recast moving forward.

The great success that Justin Roiland achieved with Rick and Morty came crashing down last month when Adult Swim ended their association with him after he was charged with felony domestic abuse. While some feared that the series would be cancelled as a result of Roiland’s exit, it was quickly announced that Rick and Morty would continue with the leading roles set to be recast. Losing the co-creator of a hit series could be seen as a blow, but a report from THR states that Justin Roiland hasn’t had “any meaningful creative presence” on Rick and Morty since the third season.
The early days of Rick and Morty were “easy and fun” according to co-creator Dan Harmon, with the two creators getting along well. After the success of the first season, Harmon was set on improving the second season even more. “And when Harmon wants something to be even better,...

The complete and utter implosion of Justin Roiland's massively successful animation career continues to be one of 2023's most shocking stories. The co-creator of "Rick and Morty" (with Dan Harmon) and "Solar Opposites" (with Mike McMahan), and executive producer of the just-debuted "Koala Man" was viewed admirably by his many fans as a subversive visionary. His shows are dark and painfully funny, but, deep down good-hearted. His characters are screw-ups scrambling to make sense of a world gone mad. They're misfits with whom disillusioned viewers could relate. If it came out that Roiland was spending as many hours in therapy as he was in the writers' room, no one would've been surprised.
But when a January 12 NBC News story revealed that Roiland was facing two felony domestic violence charges brought against him by a woman he was dating in 2020, the entire entertainment industry was left reeling. For fans who'd...

“Rick & Morty” co-creator Justin Roiland has new allegations following the explosive #MeToo reckoning in early 2023.
The executive producer and voice actor behind series “Koala Man” and “Solar Opposites” was charged with felony domestic violence in January stemming from a 2020 incident with a former girlfriend. While Roiland has maintained his innocence, disturbing toxic workplace accusations led to Roiland being fired from Adult Swim and getting the boot from a lucrative overall Disney’s 20th Television Animation deal, with Hulu also releasing a statement. The video game studio Roiland co-founded in 2016 called Squanch Games also announced his resignation as CEO.
However, a new The Hollywood Reporter exposé alleges that Roiland was an elusive presence on the shows bearing his name for years, with “Rick & Morty” co-creator Dan Harmon not on speaking terms with Roiland for “multiple seasons” of the hit series. Staffers for “Solar Opposites” and “Koala Man” noted they...

On Jan. 9, Hulu debuted its animated comedy Koala Man, the latest installment in what was then Justin Roiland’s sprawling empire. An absurdist superhero series that features a voice cast with Hugh Jackman and Succession‘s Sarah Snook, the project seemed to cap off a particularly prolific period for its producer. In a matter of months, Roiland had released a hit video game, put a collection of paintings on exhibit, aired a sixth season of his Adult Swim juggernaut Rick and Morty, and snagged a fifth season for his other Hulu series, Solar Opposites.
Three days later, that image as a high-flying animation maestro came crashing down. On Jan. 12, NBC News revealed that Roiland was facing two felony charges in Orange County stemming from an alleged 2020 domestic violence incident that occurred with a woman he was dating at the time. That August, he was arrested and released on bail. Roiland has pleaded not guilty.

Almost a decade since the debut of the hit television series Rick and Morty, Justin Roiland, who is currently facing domestic abuse charges in connection with a 2020 incident, will no longer be part of the show, Adult Swim announced.
Roiland is the sci-fi comedy’s co-creator along with Dan Harmon and he famously voices both the alcoholic mad scientist and his grandson.

Adult Swim has announced that it’s severing all ties with “Rick and Morty” co-creator Justin Roiland after he was charged with felony domestic violence stemming from a 2020 incident involving an unidentified woman.

Given that Roiland voiced both the show’s primary characters, Rick and Morty (in addition to others), sources indicate that those roles will all be recast with other actors in future episodes.
While Roiland will continue to be credited as co-creator, Harmon will now be the sole showrunner.

Adult Swim has cut ties with Justin Roiland in the wake of the news that the Rick and Morty co-creator was charged with felony domestic abuse in Orange County.
“Adult Swim has ended its association with Justin Roiland,” Adult Swim/Cartoon Network/Boomerang senior vp communications Marie Moore said in a statement Tuesday.
Adult Swim distributes Rick and Morty, the hit adult animation comedy that Roiland co-created and executive produced, and for which he voiced both the titular Rick and Morty. As The Hollywood Reporter reported on Jan. 17, Adult Swim isn’t even halfway through a massive 70-episode order for the show, one of the brand’s most popular titles, commissioned by the channel in 2018.
Sources say Rick and Morty is set to continue, with Roiland’s voice roles to be recast. Though Roiland will always be credited as co-creator, fellow co-creator Dan Harmon will now be the lone showrunner.

Despite often being referred to as such, koalas aren’t actually bears. They’re marsupials. So if you’re going to mislabel Australia’s cutest export, you may as well call them koala puppies, koala piglets, or, if you want to take things to the opposite end of the adorable spectrum, koala middle-aged-men. I’m thinking of a specific type of middle-aged man, who’s both delusional and stubborn; prone to sweeping declarations of noble intent, yet unable or unwilling to act with any chivalry on a regular basis; out of shape and less than stylish, always wearing an old polo tucked into fading jean shorts. Few would confuse such a figure with even the worst anthropomorphized non-bear, making such a juxtaposition between man and koala inherently amusing. You hear koala, you think “cute and cuddly,” but all you get is… “Koala Man.”
