One of the things that non-soap opera viewers don't get to experience as much is recasting. No matter how talented the actors are and how great they do their job, sometimes the show has to replace them no matter what. And then it can get a lot harder to connect with a formerly beloved character.
Fortunately, that wasn't the case with Trina Robinson, and the vast majority of viewers fell in love with Tabyana Ali just as quickly as they did with the previous actress who played her. However, it's still a mystery to many why Sydney Mikayla decided to leave after 3 years of crazy Port Charles life.
Why Did Old Trina Leave General Hospital?
Trina Robinson wasn't created by Sydney Mikayla, as Tiana Le was the first to portray the character on screen, appearing in 3 episodes between 2017 and 2018. However, Mikayla was the actress who began to explore the beloved character further,...

Lionsgate said today its acquisition of global entertainment platform eOne from Hasbro is done.
The transaction announced last August adds 6,500 film and television titles to Lionsgate’s large library; diversifies and strengthens its scripted and unscripted television businesses; extends its portfolio of brands and franchises; and expands its presence in Canada and the UK.
The deal is for $375 million in cash plus the assumption of some production financing loans.
EOne produces ABC hit franchise The Rookie, critically-acclaimed Showtime series Yellowjackets, and the long-running Discovery unscripted series Naked & Afraid. The library has 1917, Atomic Blonde, Green Book, Grey’s Anatomy, Criminal Minds, Renegade and Designated Survivor.
The transaction also includes film development rights to Hasbro’s Monopoly brand. Lionsgate knows that property well and had specifically carved out the film development rights as part of the overall deal. It’s been 30 years since Winifred Sanderson and her sisters put a spell on fans, and “Hocus Pocus” remains a Halloween classic. So, what are the witchy women up to these days? What about the kids they tormented? Well, at least when it comes to the latter, they aren’t kids anymore.
In fact, you can catch most of them at fan conventions across the country when they aren’t on-screen. Vinessa Shaw, Omri Katz, Thora Birch and Jason Marsden have reunited more than a few times at events in the last few years, as “Hocus Pocus” found its cult following later in its life cycle.
As for the Sanderson sisters, well, they’re obviously still hard at work in Hollywood too. In fact, they just reunited last year for “Hocus Pocus 2” on Disney+.
You can see what the ‘Hocus Pocus” cast looks like now in the photos below.

The “Transformers” franchise returned to theaters in 2023 with “Transformers: Rise of the Beasts,” the latest installment in the big-screen, live-action adaptation of the beloved Hasbro toy line. “Rise of the Beasts,” which is the planned start of a new trilogy, is the seventh film in the series. Chronologically, it comes after “Bumblebee,” which was a prequel to the first five films in the series. This means you don’t technically have to watch or rewatch any of the Michael Bay-helmed movies before — but don’t you kind of want to anyway?
In case you forgot, Michael Bay was behind the camera for “Transformers” (2007), “Revenge of the Fallen” (2009), “Dark of the Moon” (2011), “Age of Extinction” (2014), and “The Last Knight” (2017). Travis Knight (“Kubo and the Two Strings”) took over for “Bumblebee” (2018) and Steven Caple Jr. (“Creed II”) stepped in for “Rise of the Beasts” (2023). No one should be surprised that Lionsgate announced the purchase of eOne’s film and TV business for $500 million — we all knew that was coming — but it is totally reasonable to be confused.
Lionsgate, which is already trying to sell its own studio, gets nearly 6,500 titles in the deal, including ongoing series like “Yellowjackets,” “The Rookie,” and “Naked and Afraid.” There’s also library content like “1917,” “Atomic Blonde,” “Green Book,” “Grey’s Anatomy,” and “Criminal Minds.”
We don’t yet have the full list of what stays with Hasbro and what goes to Lionsgate, but we know unscripted competition series “Play-Doh Squished” is part of the transaction, and that Lionsgate gets the rights for an upcoming Monopoly movie. Kevin Hart was once set to star in the planned film adaptation of the generations-spanning board game; IndieWire did not immediately get an answer to our question about his current involvement.

"Transformers: EarthSpark" is a Paramount+ original animated series that follows the eponymous robots in disguise as they work together, Autobots and (some) Decepticons alike, on a post-war Earth to protect and educate a new breed of Transformer: the Terrans. These new robots are unlike the rest in that they were born on Earth. For the Terrans, it's the only home they've ever known, and Cybertron is a distant myth. Also, there are a bunch of humans tagging along because the audience demands a surrogate. The whole thing is very "Steven Universe."
Starring everyone from Zeno Robinson and Danny Puddi to Nolan North and Clancy Brown, "Transformers: EarthSpark" is up to its antennae in famous names. One of them in particular -- Alan Tudyk, who voices Optimus Prime, the leader of the Autobots -- comes with something of a funny story. Thing is, fans of Tudyk will know that he's typically cast as comedic characters.

It's morphin' time once again, but not for the Power Rangers. No, but the upcoming live-action film "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts" finally has its first trailer — and those things morph, you know?
In the sneak peek, we meet "In the Heights" star Anthony Ramos and "Judas and the Black Messiah" star Dominique Fishback as our human leads ... and yes, that's definitely the legendary Ron Pearlman voicing a new Transformer character named Optimus Primal. Right, not quite Optimus Prime, but close. This new film is set to adapt the "Transformers" spin-off series "Beast Wars" for the screen for the first time, which sounds about right for the seventh film in just about any franchise. At that point, reinventing the wheel is key — and it seems as though "Beast Wars" is their shot at doing so 15 years after the first "Transformers" film was released.

Hasbro shares tumbled to their lowest level since 2015 after the toymaker and entertainment company reported a sharp drop in quarterly revenue and earnings results below Wall Street expectations.
Midway through the trading day, Hasbro shares were down 3 at 65.76 on above-average volume.
Inflation and consumer sensitivity to price played a key role in the company’s 15 earnings slide in the quarter ending September 30, compared with the year-earlier period, and the company is also battling foreign currency fluctuations and supply-chain issues. Revenue totaled 1.68 billion, matching analysts’ consensus estimate, but adjusted earnings per share fell 10 cents short of Wall Street’s outlook, coming in at 1.42. Strength in the dollar in many global territories during the quarter was cited as a culprit, along with the fact that consumers in general are inclined to spend less on discretionary items like toys and games in the current climate.

Entertainment One owner Hasbro has stumbled with its third quarter earnings as the toy maker drives towards becoming a digital gaming powerhouse.
Hasbro saw net earnings fall 49 percent to 129.2 million, against a year-earlier 253.2 million, and the adjusted earnings per share line came in at 1.42, compared to 1.96 in the same period of fiscal 2021.
That fell short of a 1.52 expected per-share earnings estimate from Refinitiv. Hasbro matched Wall Street projections for overall third quarter revenues at 1.68 billion.
The entertainment segment at Hasbro, which includes eOne, saw revenues fall 34 percent to 211.6 million, compared to a year-earlier 327.1 million. Film and TV revenue slid 26 percent to 188.6 million as Hasbro pointed to unfavorable comparisons to year-earlier streaming releases of the films Come from Away and Finch.
The latest financial results come amid a focus by Hasbro on fewer, bigger brands and accelerated profitability as the toy maker drives towards becoming a digital gaming powerhouse.

If there’s any villain faction that synonymous with Transformers, it’s the Decepticons. But they aren’t the only game in town when it comes to evil forces the Transformers have to fight. At one point in time, Bumblebee was just another Transformer among hundreds in the extended cast of the Transformers universe. Sure he got some starring bits in the original G1 continuity, but it was really the 2007 Transformers movie that propelled Bumblebee to co-headlining status alongside Autobot leader Optimus Prime.
That trend isn’t stopping with the newest Transformers series rolling into Paramount+, which you can watch an exclusive trailer for right here.
While the last few trailers for Transformers: EarthSpark have focused on the new bots, this one gives all the shine to Bumblebee. Unlike other previous incarnations of the character, this Bumblebee is giving major “somewhat clueless teacher” vibes.
Right at the start of the trailer he begins what appears to be a lesson by showing off his arm laser and accidentally shoots down a nearby tree. Bumblebee doesn’t notice though because, while he may be a bit clueless,...

Everyone knows Transformers are alien robots — or are they? Animated series Transformers: Earthspark introduces siblings Twitch (voiced by Kathreen Khavari) and Thrash (Zeno Robinson), the first Transformers born on Earth, aka Terrans. “They’re new to everything around them, including the legacy bots who are part of the story,” says co-executive producer Dale Malinowski. In a time when robots and humans coexist peacefully, years after the long-running Transformers war between Autobots and Decepticons, Twitch and Thrash live with the Malto family and are mentored by franchise fave Bumblebee (Danny Pudi). But when villainous Mandroid (Diedrich Bader) decides to rid the world of robots, the heroes rise to the challenge with Optimus Prime (Alan Tudyk), Megatron (Rory McCann) and others back in the mix. “Going into this adventure with the Terrans — they’re not either faction,” says co-executive producer Ant Ward. “It’s been fun to have a blank slate to really define this new generation.

The newest Transformers are the Earthborn Terran bots, Twitch and Thrash, who prominently feature in this exclusive trailer for Transformers: EarthSpark. Watch it below!
