The saddest thing about this movie is that Harold (and I assume Phyllis as well) were cremated. Now their Jewish souls cannot be reunited with their bodies during the resurrection of the dead in the age of Moshiach. This is the true tragedy of the movie.
Phyllis was an unwise person. She chose a man whom she said she had nothing in common with. She had an affair with a married man. She was not present with her children. These were just a few of her foolish behaviors. If she had led a life of Torah, she would have had a chance to lead a better, more fulfilling life. And most importantly, she would have learned how to preserve her soul after her death.
Let this movie be a lesson to young women and to Jewish people in general.
