Criminal dramas about defenders of justice were once popular only in the procedural format, but the industry developed by leaps and bounds. Over time, we began to receive full-fledged dramas at the level of feature films with the best actors of our time.
One of the most popular projects in this genre was White Collar – an exciting series about a sophisticated, elegant, handsome intellectual, formerly one of the elite of the criminal world, and now an FBI consultant, Neal Caffrey, who, together with Agent Peter Burke, solves the most complex crimes in New York.
However, while White Collar and Suits received its fair share of love from the viewers, another project remained in the shadows completely undeservedly.

There are two types of people who enjoy crime dramas: some prefer their shows to be brooding and dark, the gorier the better, while others tend to enjoy the mystery element mixed with a heartwarming comedy. Elsbeth is a sure-fire hit for the second group, but it's not the only show you might want to check out.
Here are 8 other shows that will give you as much pleasure as Elsbeth without having to wait weeks to see a new episode.
White Collar (2009-2014)
Starring Matt Bomer as charismatic con man Neal Caffrey, the show follows his journey to become a great detective after getting out of prison in exchange for helping the FBI's White Collar Crimes Unit. The show is light-hearted, yet features some of the best crime cases you will ever see on television. Plus, there is a chance that it will get a reboot soon enough!

Actors’ Equity President Kate Shindle has announced that she will not seek re-election when her nine-year tenure ends May 23.
Shindle, who revealed the news in an interview with The New York Times, said she will remain active in the labor movement but intends to focus on resuming her acting career. She told The Times that her position as Equity president – an unpaid volunteer position – left her with so little time for her acting career that she hasn’t been able to clock enough professional hours to quality for Equity health insurance.
In a statement posted on her Instagram account, Shindle said, “It’s been one of my greatest honors to serve as the top officer of our union since 2015, and it sure has been a hell of a ride. Since March 2020, the vast majority of my creative energy has gone into solving our collective problems – sometimes successfully, sometimes making frustratingly incremental gains.

What would make a man –– with only three months left on his four-year prison sentence –– try to escape? Love, of course. And what would make a career criminal agree to work as a consultant for the FBI? Well, still love.
That’s the premise of White Collar, which is now streaming on Netflix. Neal Caffrey (Matt Bomer) is a lifelong con artist, thief, and forger — one of the highest caliber. No art, antiquity, jewel, or designer suit is safe when he’s on the loose. He evaded capture for many years but was finally detained by FBI special agent Peter Burke (Tim DeKay). When Neal’s girlfriend, Kate Moreau (Alexandra Daddario), visits him after three years in prison to inform him that she’s leaving him, he hatches a plan to break out and convince her to stay.

Netflix’s library of licensed content is growing. Following the massive streaming success of Suits last summer, Netflix is once again expanding its library of shows that originally aired elsewhere. (Suits aired on USA from 2011 to 2019.)
In addition to new seasons of popular original series such as Bridgerton and Love Is Blind, which are on the horizon in 2024, the streamer is also adding more episodes of beloved older shows, including This Is Us, White Collar, Lost, and How I Met Your Mother.
‘This Is Us’ and ‘Black Sails’ will stream on Netflix in January 2024 Toby Stephens and Luke Arnold in ‘Black Sails’ | Starz
Netflix is ringing in the new year by adding new shows to its streaming library. The new arrivals in January 2024 include Black Sails, a historical drama about pirates that originally aired on Starz from 2014–17 and which should appeal to fans of gritty period shows like Vikings and The Last Kingdom.

Disney will get some much-needed cash from a licensing deal that will send more titles to Netflix, which conversely has no interest in licensing out its own shows.
It feels as if making the initial payment for Comcast’s 33% stake in Hulu has jumpstarted things at Disney. Not only has the company launched the public beta test for a one-app experience bringing Hulu content onto Disney+, but it has agreed to a licensing deal that will allow it to share streaming rights for “Grey's Anatomy” with Netflix starting in March of 2024.
Disney has agreed to a new licensing deal that will send 14 shows to Netflix non-exclusively. Netflix has indicated that while it will continue to bring shows from other studios to its service, it has no plans to license its shows to outside platforms. Late last night, social media users discovered something disturbing on Max‘s servers, or more accurately: discovered the absence of something on Max’s servers that disturbed them.
HBO‘s hallmark 2019 miniseries Watchmen was missing. For roughly an hour, various accounts on Twitter posted screenshots of searches for “Watchmen” that yielded nothing but Zack Snyder’s 2009 film adaptation and a motion comic version of Alan Moore and Dave Gibbon’s seminal graphic novel from the 1980s.
Tick tock. Time to change the Twitter bio @watchmen. Apparently HBO Max wiped the Watchmen show from the platform today. Absolutely embarrassing. Get fucked Max. pic.twitter.com/AvFNdmrArR

For most onlookers, there was never a question of whether Watchmen had deliberately booted from Max or not. Of course it had. Despite the series being an enormous success for Warner Bros. Discovery’s pay cable network HBO and also being based on another Wbd-owned legendary comic,...

Can Netflix do for a show like “Reba” or “The Resident” what it did for “Suits?” That’s what we’ll find out next year when Disney begins licensing series to Netflix as part of a non-exclusive arrangement stretching through 2025.
Disney Entertainment and Netflix are in the works on finalizing a licensing agreement that will bring 14 different series from ABC, Fox, FX, and even ESPN to the streamer across 18 months, an individual with knowledge told IndieWire. At the time of this writing, the deal was not signed. Among the titles that will eventually make it are shows like “The Wonder Years,” “This Is Us,” “30 for 30,” “How I Met Your Mother,” “Lost,” “Archer,” “Prison Break,” “Home Improvement,” and more.

Since it first started distributing movies and shows over the internet in 2007, Netflix has enjoyed an enormous head start over its competitors. Rival entertainment companies got sucked into an all-out arms race in 2019 and 2020 as the pandemic closed theaters and people around the globe kicked back in front of their streaming devices. But as entertainment companies struggle mightily to make their streamers profitable, they’re turning to their old rival for help. And now, Disney is letting Netflix stream some of its shows. With this retreat, Netflix now looks invincible over the long haul.

Disney is bringing all past seasons of “Grey’s Anatomy” to Hulu — while they will remain on Netflix — coinciding with the official launch of Hulu on Disney+ in March 2024.
Starting in the spring 2024, Hulu and Netflix will share the co-exclusive U.S. streaming rights to all prior 19 seasons of “Grey’s Anatomy” as part of a new licensing deal between Disney Entertainment and Netflix. Only Hulu will have the complete series as new in-season episodes from the upcoming Season 20 of the hit show will be available to stream (after they air on ABC) along with the 19 previous seasons. “Grey’s Anatomy,” the longest-running medical drama on primetime TV, is created by Shonda Rhimes and produced by ABC Signature, a part of Disney Television Studios, and Shondaland.
The “Grey’s Anatomy” expansion on Hulu is part of a proposed short-term U.S. content agreement under which Disney Entertainment will license 14 library series to Netflix on a nonexclusive basis.

Matt Bomer was a Ken that got away from Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie.

"True Lies" is a uniquely '90s movie. The action-comedy features "Roseanne" star Tom Arnold, "Wayne's World" breakout Tia Carrere, and "Terminator" action hero Arnold Schwarzenegger, plus Bill Paxton and Jamie Lee Curtis. While Curtis is, of course, a recent Oscar winner, Paxton passed away in 2017, and the remaining lead actors haven't exactly been headlining many major blockbusters of late. It's also commonly cited as the first movie to cost over $100 million to make, a figure that feels extremely quaint when compared to today's bloated budgets.
Despite the inherent '90s-ness of "True Lies," rumors constantly persist about a sequel to the movie. Writer-director James Cameron is obviously a little busy these days with the "Avatar" sequels, but is there a chance he could ever return to the world of secret agent Harry Tasker? If not, might another filmmaker rise to the challenge and make "True Lies 2" happen? Here's everything...

“There has been talk. It’s actually very legitimate talk, it’s in conversation,” Matt, 46, shared with TVLine.
Matt went on to say that there are “a lot of things need to fall into place, but there is a plan in effect, at least, so we’ll see what happens.”
Matt also talked about how his late co-star Willie Garson, who died in September 2021 after a battle with cancer, would still be a part of the show.
Obviously, that’s the first thing that came to my mind, but I felt that what [creator] Jeff Eastin presented to Tim [DeKay] and I honors what he...

Don your best fedora, White Collar fans: The USA Network series may be coming back to television. Star Matt Bomer, the actor behind con artist Neal Caffrey, is hyping up a possible revival of the comedy-drama. “There has been talk. It’s actually very legitimate talk, it’s in conversation,” Bomer told TVLine on Friday. “A lot of things need to fall into place, but there is a plan in effect, at least, so we’ll see what happens.” In White Collar, created by Jeff Eastin, Bomer’s Caffrey avoids prison time by striking a deal with FBI agent Peter Burke (Tim DeKay) to help the feds catch white-collar criminals. The series, which aired six seasons between 2009 and 2014, also starred Tiffani Thiessen, Marsha Thomason, Sharif Atkins, Hilarie Burton, Natalie Morales, and the late Willie Garson. Robert Ascroft/USA Network/NBCU Photo Bank Bomer teased the possibility of a White Collar revival in 2020, too,...

According to TVLine, there is “very legitimate talk” about a revival of White Collar, the USA Network drama starring Matt Bomer, Tim DeKay, Willie Garson, and Tiffani Thiessen.
“There has been talk. It’s actually very legitimate talk, it’s in conversation,” Matt Bomer said, adding that “a lot of things need to fall into place, but there is a plan in effect, at least, so we’ll see what happens.”
Matt Bomer starred as Neal Caffrey, a highly intelligent and multi-talented con artist, forger, and thief who is forced to work as a criminal informant and FBI consultant. DeKay also starred as FBI Special Agent in Charge Peter Burke, Willie Garson as Mozzie, Neal’s close friend and fellow con artist, and Tiffani Thiessen as Elizabeth Burke, Peter’s wife. If a White Collar revival does happen, it would sadly have to do without Willie Garson, who died in 2021. However,...

A long in the works revival of White Collar may be coming to fruition.
Matt Bomer, who played a reformed conman on the USA Network series from 2009–2014, told TVLine that “there has been talk. It’s actually very legitimate talk, it’s in conversation. … a lot of things need to fall into place, but there is a plan in effect, at least, so we’ll see what happens.”
Bomer and creator Jeff Eastin began talking about a White Collar revival in 2020 during a charity cast reunion on the Stars In the House YouTube channel. “There is nothing I would want than to be on a set with this group of people again,” said Bomer, who organized the reunion. “There are real conversations happening. There seems to be a lot of excitement about it.”
White Collar certainly isn’t the first old favorite from USA that is looking for a second lease on life.
