The picture of a young Terry and his mum that Terry finds in the kitchen draw is actually a picture of the director Marc Coleman and his mum, taken in the late 80's.
The montage song that appears in the middle of the film titled 'I Lost My Eyes To The Ocean' is written and performed by Matty Noble, the actor who plays manfish. The song relates to a day on set when the creatures eyes came free from the head and floated away into the sea during a take, setting filming back by a day whilst the creature head sculptor made the production a new pair.
During the development process, the manfish had a seaweed comb over in some of the designs. It was scrapped in early pre-production as it looked a little too silly.
The film was shot over 13 days in Canvey Island, Essex and the London Borough of Redbridge.
