In retaliation to Nancy's intrusive locker searches, the girls decide to teach her a lesson by having her find a fake diary they are writing in Howard's name; Sonny's musician union goes on strike.
IT'S A LIVING does THE BRADY BUNCH. This plot line is beneath the show and was better suited to the latter series where it was a ten-year-old girl who found a fake diary, not a middle-aged woman ("The Snooperstar" episode had Cindy Brady as the victim).
Marian Mercer does her best with a weak script and has the funniest line where she "had a little accident with a step ladder". The bit with her throwing out "the lady in red" is also good. This is one of the few episodes where the viewer is on Nancy's side by the episode's end. You actually feel sorry for her.
The B-story is also weak with Sonny performing in a stereotypical Mexican disguise as Enrique Gomez, only to be nabbed in the restaurant by an Immigration officer.
