We all got excited about a new show from 'the producers of Line of Duty' or however they worded it. AND it's got Vickie McLure in it, with Adrian Lester. Wow.....
Well no actually the first episode was laboured. Trying to add tension to the storyline just seemed to make the thing drag on. The thing with the snips? I mean what was that about. Oh could they have tried any harder to tell us it was a hot June day?
There's obviously something bigger going on, that's to be expected. However they didn't help matters by ending episode 1 the way they did. I assume that was in an attempt to make me tune in next week. Sorry it had lost me by then.
It would seem silly to claim there were obvious mistakes in police procedures and bomb disposal techniques, as I know very little of either, but some of the stuff on screen made me think 'they wouldn't do that, would they?'. In TVland at least try to convince the audience the show is authentic.
Not for me, maybe when it's had it's run it might be worth a binge, but on the first episode I think not.
