Good story and some funny stuff for a campy ride through the Apocalypse!
freaks200813 June 2009
Warning: Spoilers
Sabbath was a little more than I expected to tell you the truth I liked it.Although I do have a wide range of tastes. I'm not going to say this film would be right for everyone, but if you like the Evil Dead films or films by Troma Entertainment you should enjoy this one. This is a low budget film, so don't expect a lot of fascinating special effects, acting is o.k. and it does star David Crawford from Dawn of the Dead '78.

Writer/Producer: Laura Seli gives a good story and some funny stuff for a campy ride through the Apocalypse! The only problem I had with the film: At times the soundtrack was a little louder than it should have been making it a little over powering.

Somewhat troubling but still watchable zombie effort
kannibalcorpsegrinder2 February 2017
With mankind entering an apocalypse, the residents of a small town find themselves battling a series of supernatural obstacles with a demonic figure unleashing hordes of zombies after them and forcing the few survivors to band together to defeat the onslaught of creatures.

This one here certainly has some decidedly decent elements to offer. One of the more enjoyable features here is the small-town setting that manages to effectively convey the sense of the apocalypse effectively by featuring a small, isolated community. The scenes early on where they come together at the farmhouse is quite nice at setting up the exploits of the situation as they come across the first zombies and hide out together. Coming as it does following the early scenes featuring the reaper figure in the graveyard attacking the zombies himself, there's a fine early set-up of the small-town coming across the creatures which goes nicely with the appearance of the teleporting zombies that float in and disappear throughout the film. That leads into the spectacular scenes in the final half where the hordes have been built into a far more formidable and imposing force that requires them to shoot their way to safety, in essence turning into a solid and continuous action scene as they try to get out of the house with the encroaching horde coming after them battling through the hordes outside the cemetery getting to safety and requiring more fun to be had with the attempts to finally put them down. Since they come back to life again for the second round of attacks despite being initially put down, there's the fun of going after them once again which prolongs this quite nicely and really enhancing the gore factor of this one. These here make this one decent, but there's still a few flaws throughout this one. One of the biggest issues here is the fairly large and obvious budgetary restrictions on display, making it nearly impossible to take this one seriously with all the incredibly lousy effects- work and designs featured here. The CGI is incredibly bad and rushed, barely making it look realistic and always making itself be known that there are low-budget effects in here, from the kills to the bloodshed and the means of enhancing many scenes throughout here. Likewise, the fact that there's so many rather obscure and confusing scenes here due to the low-budget nature, from the scenes of the dark angels floating around on the outskirts of the film and when the reaper figure goes after the zombies themselves makes for a series of really shoddy effects, while the confined, cramped feel of this one gives that off incredibly well. The other big problem to be found here is the fact that this one just tends to go around with a complex, convoluted plot line that has no chance of being resolved with the short, frantic tempo throughout here, for the inclusion of the reaper and the dark angels gives this a highly-religious setup that never gets explained, there's never anything given about what the wailing figures are supposed to be that continuously pop up in the film and the connection between everything is utterly muffled and left unexplained. These are somewhat detrimental as a whole here and make this one a challenging experience, even if it's decent enough otherwise.

Rated R: Graphic Language, Graphic Violence and mild drug use.

The worst movie that I had ever seen. Seriously.
webgovernor2 October 2008
Warning: Spoilers
This is the absolute worst movie available. There isn't any nudity, nor is there any gore that doesn't look like really bad clay-mation. I was hoping Evil Dead indie, but instead I got YouTube indie (actually, most YouTube videos that I have seen turn out much much much better than Sabbath, or at least not nearly as boring).

Who the hell was the chick in the cemetery? She couldn't act her way out of a junior high detention. I don't care how the people look, I just want to see the minimal acting performance. If you can't get your cast to act, at least barely, then don't f***ing make the movie. If your story feels like it was written by a teenager with too much angst and a large ego, then don't f***ing make the movie. If your only camera is a cellular phone, as it says on your website (www.sabbaththemovie.com), then don't f***ing make the movie.

This movie was just plain boring, seriously. Don't watch it, I'm warning you.

Bad Bad Bad. LMFAO Terrible.
webgovernor-16 October 2008
I couldn't believe that this movie promised so much in terms of blood, gore, and nudity.... I had initially thought that the movie may have been some sort of joke or spoof, but it turns out that it was nowhere near intentional comedy.

NUDITY: ....In the film I found absolutely no nudity, at least nothing that was notable. I wouldn't have wanted to see the female character naked anyway, she was quite different from what I'd call "pretty".

BLOOD & GORE: ....CHEESEY! I could barely handle the cheese of the blood and gore. It was something terrible. One scene it appears as though the director decided to use obviously plastic props, instead of just using some cow intestines, similar to NOTLD, which is a thousand times better directed than this.

THE EFFECTS: Super super fake. He uses a cheap MS Paint style CG to generate the effects of the baseball launcher/spud gun thing, and then he uses CG to show "blood" coming from the zombies heads. LMFAO terrible.

Overall I personally give it a (negative) -10 out of 10 stars. This movie is so much worse than Zombie Nation (really really crappy), and I didn't think that was possible.

If you like zombie films, you will like this.
Ashleymcnamara327 May 2012
Being one of Ms. Ashley Gallo's first films working alongside the very talented director William Victor Schotten, and the other cast and crew, I felt that this horror film was not half bad. There were times were I did laugh out loud and other times I would be on the edge of my seat. I will admit some props used in the film were used poorly, such as using a spry as y bottle of hairspray to rid off a zombie. A can of aerosol would seem to have made more sense, but than again, it is just a movie and they were originally made to b watched and enjoyed. so with that being said, while watching " Sabbath" keep in mind the budget it had, new faces, and have some faith in these actors and Schotten Filmworks.... I am and always will b a big fan and have seen them flourish into something amazing. Don't let a couple of bad reviews b your judge. See your yourself!!

I Was in the movie as a zombie(the Crow movie spoiler
njason-7484921 April 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I love the comments I'm laughing my ass off😂 I think that you should view it as a b rated type movie and not take it so seriously...then you would more enjoyable but still painfully to do so...I'm actually quite upset that the Easter egg spoiler about the armory for this movie was the replacement armory for the armory that was used in the movie Crow starring Jason Lee which resulted in his death.
