In 2007, a shy three years removed from 2004’s Alien vs. Predator, the two titans returned to pick up where they left off with Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem. That so happened to be Gunnison, Colorado, where the destruction of a power plant means it’s nigh impossible to see anything going on. That’s not good for anyone — especially audiences.

Sarah digs into the post-Angel careers of David Boreanaz, Alexis Denisof, Amy Acker, Charisma Carpenter and more...
It’s been about a decade since the last episode of Angel, the Buffy the Vampire Slayer spin-off series about the vampire with a soul, aired. The final episode of season five, Not Fade Away, first appeared on Us television screens on 19 May 2004. That seems simultaneously like a very long time ago, and not very long ago at all, because time is vast and human brains are small and fallible, but it’s safe to say that in TV years, it’s a pretty long goddamned time.
The men and women behind the characters we used to spend one night a week with have gone on to other things – some bigger and better, others kind of rubbish – and unless you’re a particularly obsessive superfan, you...

Carlsbad - LEGOs…those colorful blocks that snap together so easily. Many view them as a childhood toy, but they’re serious fun among collectors and adult builders. They can vacation at the American LEGOland. They can get those rare pieces at Lego stores across the country in malls. Lego video games featuring Star Wars, Batman and Indiana Jones are all the rage. Keeping up with what’s happening in Lego is about as foreboding a task as your mother keeping up with your LEGOs.
Joe Meno organizes the Lego universe through BrickJournal magazine. The periodical announces upcoming products, events and how-to articles by top buildings. It’s a coffeetable magazine featuring all the Lego pieces your kids lost under the sofa. The pages are addictive even for someone mildly interested in Lego with illustrations that show how the plastic building blocks can snap into amazing works of art. For...

We all remember Tara Reid's infamous shark bite red carpet boob slip... but she wants us to forget it. The American Pie star got her Ta-tas fixed and to prove it she recently posed for Playboy. "I got it fixed and now I'm Ok and I want people to know I'm Ok. I've had it done for the last five or six years, but people only want to show the old pictures. It's so unfair. That's part of the reason why I did Playboy, to show people, 'Right, look at me. This is how I look now.' " Reid starred in the 1998 slasher film Urban Legends and has recently been slumming it in low-budget films like Vipers. You can also check out Reid in the upcoming thriller The Fields.

If you missed Simon Hunter’s grisly futuristic action-shocker Mutant Chronicles during its recent limited theatrical run, there’s now a date to mark your calendars for the movie’s premiere on the Sci Fi Channel. It’ll help send off the station’s old incarnation just before it’s rebranded as (yuck) Syfy in July.
Mutant Chronicles, with Thomas Jane, Ron Perlman, John Malkovich and Devon Aoki, has its first Sci Fi showing Saturday, June 27 at 9 p.m., followed by a repeat Sunday, June 28 at 6:30 p.m. Also set for next month is the Sci Fi debut of Rise Of The Gargoyles, the latest in the ever-growing series of flicks about the winged beasts. Vipers’ Bill Corcoran directed this one, with Eric Balfour, Nick Mancuso and Tanya Clarke starring; it airs Sunday, June 21 at 9 p.m. Check out the trailer here.

Tara Reid has seemingly spent the last decade out and about, but her latest destination hits much closer to home. The American Pie actress and velvet-rope fixture has checked into Promises Treatment Center in Malibu, according to her publicist, Jack Ketsoyan. "We appreciate your respect to her and her family's privacy at this time," he said. Ketsoyan did not say what Reid is being treated for and no other details were forthcoming. The move comes as a surprise to Reunion Pictures' Matthew O'Connor, who coproduced Reid last year on the made-for-tv horror flick Vipers. "Tara was 100 percent professional," he told E! News. "She came in totally prepared every...

This really is my favorite time of the year: Days are just warm enough, nights have that slight autumn-ish smell, you start seeing pumpkins, black cats and Saw sequel posters everywhere ... ah yeah: Halloween is coming! Now obviously I'm not into candy like I used to be (just give me a plain Hershey bar and I'm happy), but I do love the fact that even HORROR has its own season. Like, if you enjoy being scared, October's the month to do it in. Could be PG-rated chills on a hay ride with your six-year-old, could be a goofy pre-teen sleepover where moms does that "eww, these grapes are eyebaaaaalllllllls" trick, or it could be my kind of Halloween season: Packed to the rafters with digital terrors.
So as I was perusing the schedules and doing the "ooh, gimme" thing on a bunch of DVDs, I thought it might be more fun to do it publicly.

We’ve been keeping info on the new Tara Reid opus Vipers close to our chests since it was first announced, but we’ve done it for your own good. We know how insane the hype can be for a new horror movie with Reid so we’ve basically been trying to avoid mass hysteria.
Now that we’re less than a month from the film’s September 23rd DVD release date (pre-order it here ... you know you want to...), we’re happy to get more info out there. If you choose to riot in the streets demanding this film be released now, we cannot be held responsible.
Vipers tells of a group of genetically altered snakes who create havoc in the woods near a small town. The good folks at Genius Entertainment sent us over a stack of imagery for the film, which should help soothe your tired ocular...

There's a frightening number of fall horror DVDs coming out the closer we get to Halloween. I've compiled a sampling in no particular order of just some of the many, many new releases coming soon to a DVD shelf near you in September and October.
Genius Entertainment will release Never Cry Werewolf (review) on September 16th. Originally premiering on the Sci-Fi Channel back in May, Nina Dobrev ("Degrassi: The Next Generation") stars as a young woman who requires the help of a slightly inept TV hunting show host Kevin Sorbo ("Hercules: The Legendary Journeys") in dealing with the werewolf who just moved in next door. To say that the film is derivative of Fright Night would be an understatement. Fortunately, it's actually not all that bad. You can find out more by reading my review, the one I accidentally submitted the uncorrected version of with all manner of typos and...

Don S. Davis, best known to genre fans as Maj. Gen. George Hammond in the Stargate television and film franchise, died on June 29. He was 65. Davis was a co-star during the first seven years of "Stargate Sg-1." As a result of a medical condition, he cut back to making guest appearances on "Sg-1" until the show wrapped at the end of its 10th season. He also brought Gen. Hammond to several episodes of "Stargate: Atlantis." His final franchise appearance will be in the upcoming direct-to-dvd film, "Stargate: Continuum," scheduled for release on July 29. He appeared in numerous films, including "Far Cry," "Woodshop" and "Vipers," all of which are in post-production. He guest-starred on several television shows, such as "Supernatural," "The Dead Zone" and "Flash Gordon." Davis ...
