Maintaining the level of "alright" that "Avenue 5" has crept up to after its awful start, the second half of the season starts with this episode that I would describe in a single word review as being "fine".
The Captain (Hugh Laurie) enjoys some time back in the good graces of the passengers and crew following a successful mission to fix the leak outside the ship. Billie (Lenora Critchlow) though feels she should have some of that credit, especially as she actually did the fixing. Meanwhile the ship's stand-up comedian Jordan Hatwall (Himesh Patel) is struggling to perform as both the exterior crises and management meddling are destroying his act.
Maintaining the acceptable level that the show reached following the slow start, episode 5 is alright. It's more of the same, characters I like interspersed with ones I don't. A show that's as amusing as it is annoying. (At least now we're at an even keel in that respect though).
