The Paramount+ purge continues.
Inside Amy Schumer and Kevin Williamson’s Tell Me a Story are among the latest titles to be removed from the Paramount Global-owned streaming platform. The moves, which were expected after last week’s erasure of Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, Star Trek: Prodigy, The Game and Queen of the Universe, come the same day that the conglomerate officially unveiled Paramount+ With Showtime.
Other titles that are being deleted from the service include Dave Grohl’s docuseries From Cradle to Stage, Ghislaine: Partner in Crime (the doc from former CBS News president Susan Zirinsky), the LeBron James-produced film Fantasy Football (which was picked up as part of Brian Robbins push for younger-skewing content) and family musical Snow Day.

After a year of questionable decisions from streaming services that involve password sharing, app overhauls, advertisement tiers, removal of content and so on, the bubble is somewhat bursting as companies look to regain profitability through the purging of shows. It was not long ago that news broke about the streaming platform, Paramount+, canceling a number of projects, including Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, Star Trek: Prodigy, The Game and Queen of the Universe. Not only is the streamer canceling these movies and shows, but they’re removing the titles from the application as well to reap the benefits of a content write-down.
Deadline now reports that more shows have been put on the chopping block over at Paramount+. One of the bigger names that is getting purged is the return of the sketch comedy show Inside Amy Schumer, which had returned to continue its run with a fifth season in six years.

This week, British actor, writer and director Noel Clarke has made headlines after being accused of groping, harassment and bullying by 20 women.
Clarke played Mickey Smith in “Doctor Who” from 2005 to 2010 and starred as Sam in the films “Kidulthood,” “Adulthood” and “Brotherhood,” which he wrote and directed, intent on bringing more representations of working-class Britain to screen. Clarke also writes, produces and plays Aaron Bishop in the British police procedural series “Bulletproof,” alongside close friend Ashley Walters.
Clarke made his film debut in 2003’s “I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead” and has since starred in movies including “Star Trek Into Darkness,” “Centurion,” “4.3.2.1.,” “Fast Girls,” “Storage 24,” “I Am Soldier,” “The Anomaly,” “I Kill Giants,” “Mute,” “10×10,” “The Corrupted,” “Twist” and “Sas: Red Notice.”
In 2015, Clarke founded the London-based production company Unstoppable Film and Television with Jason Maza, eventually securing investment from super-indie All3Media, which owns “Fleabag” producer Two Brothers and “1917” outfit Neal Street Productions.

The Baker and the Beauty will not rise again.

Initially set to follow the Clare Crawley-led The Bachelorette, the series ultimately followed a the terribly rated The Bachelor: Listen to Your Heart.
News of the show failing to find a new home comes almost a month after ABC pulled the plug.
This paved the way for the series’ leading lady, Nathalie Kelley, to criticize the network for the decision.

It appears The Baker and the Beauty‘s cancellation will stick: Efforts to find a new home for the axed ABC romantic dramedy have proven unsuccessful, TVLine has learned.
The news comes three weeks after Alphabet network cancelled the show, citing low ratings. In the immediate aftermath of the announcement, the series’ leading lady, Nathalie Kelley, condemned the decision. “Baker and the Beauty is a show that depicts Latin families as warm, lovable, full of joy and compassion and humor,” the actress said. “A cancellation by ABC means that there are now no shows on the networks with a Latinx cast.

The Baker and the Beauty may be canceled, but Nathalie Kelley has released a new statement on the matter, conceding that the decision to end the drama is "extremely tone deaf."
"We are seeing now more than ever that representation is important for Black and brown people of color. How we are represented on our television shows determines how society sees us, and the empathy and support they will grant our communities," Kelley said.
"When we are constantly depicted as narcos and maids, we can’t expect to find favor with voters when they go to the polls and elect leaders who will decide on the fate of immigrants."

Don't count The Baker and the Beauty out just yet.
Despite ABC canceling the series after a single season earlier this week, fans are ready to find the series a new home.
But before we get to that, we finally have some insight into why the series was canceled prematurely.
ABC boss Karey Burke revealed to Deadline that the primary issue was the ratings.
“The Baker and the Beauty is a show I was personally very fond of, it’s a very sweet and hopeful and inspired and optimistic show that I wish we had been able to find a bigger audience for,” she told the outlet.
The Baker and the Beauty Season 1 averaged 2.5 million total viewers and a 0.5 rating in the demo, making it ABC's lowest-rated drama.
The series did get a bump in delayed viewing, but it was not enough for the show to continue at ABC.

ABC on Monday night announced the status of its remaining bubble series, and while it was good news for one of them, it was bad news for the other.
The Baker and the Beauty has been canceled after a nine-episode freshman season.
Based on the Israeli series, the series starred Victor Rasuk as Daniel Garcia, a regular Joe who works at his parents’ Cuban bakery in Miami.
On the night that his girlfriend Vanessa proposes to him by singing Taylor Swift’s “Love Story” in the middle of a fancy restaurant, Daniel bumps into the beautiful Noa Hamilton (Dynasty‘s Nathalie Kelley), a model-turned-fashion mogul who is coming off a highly publicized split with her cheating actor boyfriend.
An unlikely romance between the baker and the beauty kicks off, but unfortunately, the series went largely ignored in traditional ratings.
It averaged around 2.5 million viewers and a 0.5 rating in the all-important 18-49 demographic.

It was recently reported that The Conjuring director James Wan is developing a hard R original horror film for New Line Cinema that he will direct. Well, now he’s attached to produce another horror movie through his Atomic Monster production company. It’s called The Troop, and it will be an adaptation of a book written by Nick Cutter.

This year’s Blood List has named the 13 best genre scripts around town, and in its sixth year the annual screenplay contest is expanding its scope to include hot books, TV pilots, and young scribes ripe for signing. Taking top honors in 2014 is sci-fi thriller Bird Box from The Thing and Final Destination 5 scribe Eric Heisserer, an apocalyptic tale of a woman trying to lead her children to safety – all three blindfolded – after monsters descend on earth that turn people insane on sight. Universal set Heisserer to adapt the manuscript from Josh Malerman in 2013 for Mama helmer Andy Muschietti. Previous Blood List alumni include Black Swan, Stoker, Warm Bodies, and the upcoming Blumhouse thriller The Boy Next Door.

ABC executives are queuing up for the network’s Big Thunder Mountain project. ABC just gave a pilot order to Big Thunder, which is inspired by the 1979 Disneyland theme park mine ride.
“When a brilliant, late 19th century New York doctor and his family are given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to relocate to a frontier mining town run by a powerful, but mysterious tycoon, they quickly realize that not everything in Big Thunder is as it seems,” goes the show’s logline. Jason Fuchs (Ice Age: Continental Drift) has the task of writing the pilot. Chris Morgan (The Troop) will executive produce.

The Voice’s zaniest coach Cee Lo Green is given to rocking jumpsuits that look like they’re made of Muppets and stroking his stuffed cat Purrfect. Does that make him crazy? Possibly. But when Green showed up for a guest stint on Nick’s How to Rock (airing tonight at 8 p.m. Et), he was surprisingly understated, donning a plain black T-shirt and relatively few flashes of bling. “I’m used to seeing him in big, colorful feathers and all these crazy outfits,” laughs the show’s 15-year-old star Cymphonique Miller, “and he was really down-to-earth with his outfits when he came on set.

Jaren Brandt Bartlett born February 3 1988 a Canadian actor who will be donning the blue alien suit for the new Blue Beetle. He will be playing the part of Jaime Reyes (no not Ted Kord fanboys). The actor plays Alejandro in the hit TV show The Troop and as most know, theres been talk/rumor of a spin-off Beetle show too in the works. No CW Official Description is out as yet and as earlier reported Days of Our Lives actor Eric Martsolf is playing the part of DC superhero from the future Booster Gold. Jaren Brandt Bartlett LEEE777 - Well we all knew it wouldn't be Ted Kord, I for one wont see the blue & gold magic without Ted as Beetle personally, but fingers crossed CW does deliver. Bartlett has also been in the TV series Aliens In America.

The Writers Guild of America honored The Hurt Locker and Up in the Air at their ceremony on Saturday night, firmly establishing the films as front-runners in their respective Oscar categories.
Mark Boal certainly deserves the accolades after embedding himself with an Explosive Ordnance Disposal team in Baghdad in 2004 and turning his journalist findings into a dramatic original screenplay. In his speech Boal thanked director Kathryn Bigelow for supporting “an unpopular story about an unpopular war that has now lasted twice as long as WWII with no end in sight.”
Jason Reitman and Sheldon Turner picked up the prize for their adaptation of Walter Kirn’s novel, and Mark Monroe won for the moving documentary The Cove.
The WGA Awards are a somewhat reliable indicator of the Academy Awards. ”Original Screenplay” has matched 10 out of the last 15 years, and “Adapted” has lined up 11 of 15, including Milk and Slumdog Millionaire last year.
