producers know nothing about Israel
boryagin16 March 2020
The episode is completely out of touch with Israeli reality. Watchable enough otherwise.

Buildings and streets are nothing like Israel. Criminals and thugs are neither Arabs, nor Jewish. The policeman's behaviour is nothing like Israeli police where everyone served in the military. Ultra Orthodox men on the beach near to the ladies in bikinis?

By the way, no beach either. More like marina.

Others won't care but if you know Israel even a little, those inconsistencies keep screaming at you in every scene.

The story is entertaining, but

I appreciate the people logging in with info about Israel. I hope to visit there someday and have read a lot about it. A lot of things weren't making since to me based on customs and geography I've read about. I appreciate the reviews about Israel from people that know the area. You'd think they'd grab a couple tech advisers for this - there is no shortage of people with info on Israel in Hollywood. If they'd been more accurate I'd give a much higher score. I put the mistakes and enjoyed the characters and their story.

Producers did not do their homework

The episode is supposed to take place in Tel Aviv however the producers and/or location scouts have shown us that they have never been to Israel never mind Tel Aviv. They mixed up locations taking a hodgepodge of areas and putting them together, they made the police look ridiculous-every male/female in Israel must do army service, there is no realistic way that the police officer they portrayed would be so naive and afraid of his own shadow. In addition they had Hasidic men (super religious) on the boardwalk walking by women in bikinis-that would never happen it is laughable that they even put it in. This only makes me question other location spots that I'm not familiar with and wonder how realistic they are. I know this episode isn't because I live here. One positive note, they did have the actors portraying the Israeli's at least learn a bit of Hebrew for their lines to make it a bit more believable.

Oh dear!

Following on from the two previous reviews to this one, the overview shots of Tel Aviv as scene breaks do show tel Aviv - which is well known to be on the (flat) Mediterranean coast of Israel, from Sinai to Haifa.

But, the so-called scenes all take place in a bay surrounded by mountains. This indicates to me that the producers (and director) just didn't care, which explains the nonsensensical ploy of Hasidic men walking around a swimming pool, and weak policemen (as explained two reviews up from this one.

It's all mixed in with the amateurish dialogue throughout the whole episode. And Sky TV pays a fortune for this rubbish!
