Soon, U can C John Cena, as he hosts TBS’ “Wipeout” revival alongside Nicole Byer. Hey, it seems to have worked for fellow WWE Superstar Mike “The Miz” Mizanin, who hosts the eerily similar “Cannonball” on USA Network.
Joining Cena and Byer will be “host in the field” Camille Kostek, who will cover the contestants’ progress through each round.
Below is the logline for the somewhat revamped format. It has a lot of exclamation points, so you can tell TBS is excited.
The re-imagined series will feature new twists and elements that will push contestants’ athleticism, approach, and determination to even greater extremes, all while delivering some wildly epic fails! Each game is three rounds with each round featuring a jaw-dropping, multi-stage obstacle course with numerous strategy and decision points designed to further challenge the stamina of the competitors and deliver even more hilarious and surprising wipeouts! ABC aired “Black Panther” on Sunday to pay tribute to the late Chadwick Boseman, and the film delivered a substantial audience for the Disney-owned network.
After three days of delayed viewing, a total of 6.5 million viewers tuned in to see Boseman bring T’Challa to life. That represents the strongest performance for a feature film on broadcast television since the linear debut of “Frozen” back in 2016. In terms of the key 18-49 demographic, the film grew to a 1.5 rating, meaning its finished joint top of the table for the week of Aug. 24 with CBS’s “Big Brother.” According to sources, those “Black Panther” numbers also represent ABC’s best for Sunday nights this summer. In fact, the network hasn’t seen those numbers on a summer Sunday night since June 2018 (excluding sports).
The network’s Chadwick Boseman tribute special grew to 5.2 million viewers in Live+3.

These contestants know how to make a splash. With Cannonball's season one finale just around the corner, Thursday, Sept. 3 to be exact, we've gotten an exclusive compilation of the best runs from the USA Network's competition series. Co-hosted by WWE superstar Mike "The Miz" Mizanin and Rocsi Diaz, Cannonball is the biggest and wettest water sports competition on TV. Don't believe us? Take a look at the impressive runs showcased on Cannonball below. First up, one female contestant was dragged along a lengthy slip-and-slide. Although that sounds easy enough, the competitor had to slide off the surface and land on a target several feet below. As The Miz praised the woman for...

Class Action Park is a documentary showcasing the notorious New Jersey water park that operated from 1978 to 1996.
It is part nostalgia, part docudrama, and part horror movie.
I visited Action Park not once, not twice, but many, many times in the 1980s and early 1990s. The rides were wild, and we had a heck of a good time.
But now, as I look back, I realize how lucky we were to have survived it.
That's part of what makes Class Action Park so alluring; it shows all the things visitors remember punctuated by what happened behind the scenes that even a frequent visitor would have never known.
And if you've never visited, Class Action Park is a unique glimpse into New Jersey in the 1980s, a time when regulations were frowned upon, risks were taken for both money and bragging rights, and when it all went wrong, the overall attitude was 'sh*t happens.

“Big Brother” registered a big jump from last weekend to easily top the Sunday TV ratings race.
Season 22 of the reality competition series continued with a 1.0 rating among adults 18-49 and just over 4 million total viewers. That represents a 23% up tick from last Sunday in the age demo, and a 1 million viewer increase to boot. Those numbers match almost exactly the scores from the first Thursday episode of the season which aired last week. Earlier on, the latest edition of “60 Minutes” scored a 0.6 rating and a night-topping 6.9 million total viewers. Replays of “NCIS: Los Angeles” and “NCIS: New Orleans” both delivered a 0.3 rating and around 2.5 million pairs of eyeballs each.
Elsewhere on a rerun-heavy night, NBC’s coverage of the NHL playoff game between the Philadelphia Flyers and the Montreal Canadiens averaged a 0.4 rating and just under 1.4 million viewers. The game itself was a tame affair, resulting in a 1-0 victory for the Flyers.

The reorganization of NBCUniversal’s television business was prefaced by a windup that company insiders characterized as tortuous and demoralizing. When the moment finally came, it provided only some clarity as to whom the internal winners and losers would be in a restructuring that is expected to be broad in scope. But it did demonstrate that NBCUniversal, like its peers, is having to discard old ideas about troop placement in the age of the streaming wars.
NBCU announced Thursday a new leadership structure under Mark Lazarus, chairman of the television and streaming units. The headline news was the departure of NBC Entertainment chairman Paul Telegdy — the architect NBC’s unscripted success who launched franchises such as “The Voice” and “America’s Got Talent,” and recently became the subject of allegations of racist, sexist, and homophobic behavior.

The CW premiered two of its international acquisitions to low numbers on a rerun heavy Sunday night.
Canadian series “Fridge Wars,” which sees professional chefs attempting to make restaurant quality dishes from ingredients found in a family’s refrigerator, debuted coldly to a 0.1 rating among adults 18-49 and 432,000 viewers. Later on, U.K. comedy panel show “Taskmaster” scored the same rating and only 224,000 viewers. The show is hosted by comedians Greg Davies and Alex Horne, and consists of a lineup of comedians performing a series of weird and whacky tasks assigned by the two hosts.
ABC was the only other network not to air only reruns on Sunday, with its coverage of the NBA game between Milwaukee Bucks and the Houston Rockets technically leading the night with a 0.7 rating and an averaged audience of 2.1 million viewers. Just before that, an “America’s Funniest Home Videos” replay delivered a 0.6 rating and 3.8 million viewers.

Most of the broadcast networks took Sunday off, with CBS’ 60 Minutes the lone original on the Big 4 and the CW and ABC topping primetime in both the adults 18-49 demographic and viewers with repeats of America’s Funniest Home Videos (the night’s top-rated show), Celebrity Family Feud, Press Your Luck and Match Game.
60 Minutes was up from last week and was the night’s most-watched program. The rest of CBS’ Sunday lineup included reruns of Tough As Nails, NCIS: Los Angeles and NCIS: New Orleans. It tied with NBC in the demo (0.3) after the latter aired encores of Cannonball, The Titan Games and America’s Got Talent.
Elsewhere, Fox’s night featured a repeat of Last Man Standing followed by encores of its Sunday animation block of Duncanville, The Simpsons, Bless the Harts, Bob’s Burgers and Family Guy. The CW served reruns of DC’s Stargirl and Penn and Teller: Fool Us.

ABC was the overall network winner on a rerun-heavy, deathly quiet Sunday night.
The Disney-owned network averaged a 0.5 rating among adults 18-49 across the night, with a “Family Feud” replay scoring highest at a 0.6 rating and 4.4 million total viewers. Either side of it, “America’s Funniest Home Videos” and “Press Your Luck” both delivered a 0.5 rating. The former drew just over 4 million viewers, the latter 3.1 million. “Match Game” rounded things off with a 0.3 rating and 2.4 million viewers.
CBS tied for second place in the network charts, thanks mainly to a new edition of “60 Minutes,” which came in at a 0.4 rating and 6.5 million viewers. Replays of “Tough As Nails” and “NCIS: Los Angeles” didn’t nail down big numbers, both scoring a 0.2 rating and around 2.2 million viewers a piece. An “NCIS: New Orleans” rerun faired a little better in the 10 p.m. slot, managing a 0.3 rating and 2.7 million pairs of eyeballs.

CBS was the only network which didn’t air entirely reruns, with its coverage of the finale day of the Memorial golf tournament hitting the fairway at a 0.5 rating and 5.3 million total viewers. Spaniard Jon Rahm came away a worthy winner of the tournament, snatching a spot at the top of the world golf rankings in the process. “60 Minutes” was delayed slightly by the golf,...

A polite ovation of golf claps is in order as the PGA Tour’s Memorial Tournament, which won a quiet Sunday night in the ratings. The tournament, which aired on CBS, delivered a 0.5 in the adults 18-49 demographic and 5.25 million viewers. The numbers, as with all live events, will likely be adjusted in the final numbers later today.
The tournament, won by Jon Rahm to give him the world’s No. 1 ranking, was followed by the only other bit of original programming on the night, a fresh episode of 60 Minutes (0.3, 3.73M). It took a two-tenths hit from last week. CBS ended the night with repeats of Tough As Nails and NCIS: Los Angeles.
Reruns, repeats and encores populated the rest of the networks, with ABC winning the night averaging a 0.5 in the demo with second helpings of America’s Funniest Home Videos, Celebrity Family Feud, Press Your Luck and Match Game.

“Celebrity Family Feud” lost a little ground on the previous episode, but still managed to lead ABC to a comfortable win on a quiet Sunday night.
The Steve Harvey-hosted game show topped the night with a 0.7 rating among adults 18-49, which represents a season low and a 13% drop from the previous edition. Around 5.1 million viewers tuned in to “Family Feud” last night, which is also a season low. Later on, “Press Your Luck” came in even on the last episode, which aired June 28, with a 0.6 rating and 3.7 million viewers. “Match Game” rounded off the night with a 0.5 rating and 3.3 million viewers, roughly the same tally as the episode from two weeks ago.
Over on NBC, “Cannonball” premiered in its new regular time slot 8 p.m., scoring a 0.4 rating and 1.9 million viewers in the process. That represents a much smaller splash than that made by the preview of the Mike “The Miz” Mizanin-hosted series,...

Much like a good Independence Day fireworks show, this week’s TV included dialogue that was colorful, explosive and downright jaw-dropping — and it’s all featured in our latest Quotes of the Week gallery.
This time around, we’ve got a Match Game contestant who’s probably regretting his chosen career path, a slightly misquoted Bible passage on Greenleaf, two Search Party friends who just want to be on the news and a Cannonball participant who embodies what the show is about — quite literally.
