Although Secret Empire technically concluded last month with its tenth issue, a few threads were left dangling. Luckily for us though, an epilogue of sorts has arrived in the form of Secret Empire: Omega #1. And aside from exploring whatever’s going on with the two Steve Rogers, it’s only understandable that Marvel examine the fallout of its latest major crossover event.
So, in addition to hinting that Black Widow may very well be still alive, writer Nick Spencer continued laying the groundwork for the next year or so of Marvel storytelling by teasing what lies ahead for the Punisher. In case you haven’t heard, he’s going to be donning the War Machine armor before long, considering that James Rhodes can no longer make use of it for obvious reasons.

Nick Spencer continues Marvel’s big summer event with Secret Empire #4. This issue is short on shocking reveals but allows for some key character moments this series has sorely been lacking. We learn some of the mysterious motivations behind those who have chosen to be on Cap’s side, while the quest to obtain the Cosmic Cube fragments ends in a stalemate.
Picking up where we left off with issue three we see the Punisher has in fact expressed loyalties to Hydra, well more so to Captain America Steve Rogers. It is a move reminiscent of how Punisher was portrayed in Marvel’s biggest event ever in Civil War. Frank Castle’s apparent insane mind respects Steve Rogers above all others. It is a characterization that has precedent but still feels like a misrepresentation of The Punisher.

Although you can still catch Marvel’s most iconic heroes over on Disney Xd, the House of Ideas have decided to expand their animation library by crossing over with the Japanese anime realm yet again with Future Avengers.
Not too much is known at the moment when it comes to the overall plot of the series, but we understand that it centers on a young boy named Makoto, whom Anime News Network describes as “a young boy who gains superpowers due to an evil gene manipulation experiment. Makoto and other youths join the Avengers as apprentices named ‘Future Avengers.'” Furthermore, expect the likes of Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Thor and Wasp to provide some expert tutelage.
If you were to ask me, that sounds like it’s taken some influence from Avengers Academy and may be worth checking out if you were a fan of the animated film Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow,...

The Watcher is an enigmatic character in the Marvel Universe. As his name implies, he watches the events of the world without interfering. Occasionally, he’s offered assistance to some characters but mostly, he watches. But what would happen if The Watcher were murdered?
That’s the premise of Original Sin, a Marvel event from 2014. Overall, the story was pretty good. It won’t go down as a classic but for what they were trying to accomplish, they did as well as they were going to.
The problem I have is how Nick Fury, the original Nick Fury, was portrayed. The story establishes that Nick is growing old by the day due to his body running out of the Infinity Formula that had been keeping him young over the years. They discussed how Nick had a side job separate from Shield that had him traveling the universe killing various threats...

Jon Berththal's version of Frank Castle, aka The Punisher, made quite a stir when he debuted in the second season of Marvel's Daredevil earlier this year. Bernthal's tormented interpretation of the character, coupled with solid writing, and a very fleshed-out backstory had the kind of impact on audiences that none of the previous three attempts at making the character a star of the big screen ever did. Right away, the question became, "When can we get more Punisher?"
In April, Netflix answered that question. Sort of. By announcing that Bernthal's Castle would be getting his own spinoff series. They tapped Steve Lightfood (NBC's "Hannibal") to serve as executive producer and showrunner, and tasked him with writing the first two episodes of the series.
"For me, the complexity and unpredictability of Frank Castle make him an incredibly compelling character and I couldn’t be more excited to dive into his world,...

When we talked to series star Charlie Cox about the second season of the Marvel/Netflix Daredevil show, he expressed his wishes for what he wanted to see. “I’d like to see Punisher maybe show up, a little bit of Elektra maybe. I wouldn’t mind Black Widow making an appearance, and you can’t think about Daredevil for too long without thinking of Bullseye.” Well, one out of four isn’t bad so far, as Jon Bernthal is showing up as Frank Castle, Aka The Punisher. Bernthal, still best known for The Walking Dead, will play the Marvel favourite, a tough vigilante who has his own ideas about cleaning up crime, no matter how lethal his methods. When he arrives in Hell’s Kitchen, you can bet he’ll butt heads with Matt Murdock.“Jon Bernthal brings an unmatched intensity to every role he takes on, with a potent blend of power,...

Over the years, Marvel has done a ton of crossover comics, one of the most recent was The Avengers and Attack on Titan. It was short, but it was really freakin' cool. Affter doing a little research I came across six Marvel crossover comics that were ridiculous. The comic book publisher sure has some doozies over the years. Most of them offer some good, fun entertainment, while others simply sucked. Check out the list below:
Eminem/Punisher - Kill You

After a concert, Punisher stops the limo from leaving so Slim-Shady and his entourage get out angrily to make him get out of the way. So what does Punisher do? He just automatically opens fire, killing many of them. After Eminem pistol whips Punisher, and an assassin named Barracuda...

Some years are just great for certain genres, and this year was a great one for action. All across the board were films within different subgenres stepping up and delivering great action set pieces and characters. Consider the shot on the revolving tank gun revealing the totality of carnage in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, or the tight line between insanity and sharp focus with the home invasion scene in The Guest, the shot of Chris Evans plowing through several baddies with an axe in slow motion during Snowpiercer, watching Keanu Reeves dispatching thugs with slick gun-fu in John Wick, or literally any scene from the action opera The Raid 2. Take all that together in the same year (!!!!) and it’s clear to see we’ve been spoiled.
But all that aside, only one person can take the title of 2014’s Action Hero. Action Heroes are like Highlanders,...

Marvel Studios and Walt Disney Pictures have released the official synopsis for the upcoming "Avengers: Age of Ultron". Sadly there's nothing really new revealed in the description for the highly anticipated sequel, but it reveals what Disney is willing to give away about the film at this point:
"Marvel Studios presents Avengers: Age of Ultron, the epic follow-up to the biggest Super Hero movie of all time. When Tony Stark tries to jumpstart a dormant peacekeeping program, things go awry and Earth's Mightiest Heroes, including Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Incredible Hulk, Black Widow and Hawkeye, are put to the ultimate test as the fate of the planet hangs in the balance. As the villainous Ultron emerges, it is up to The Avengers to stop him from enacting his terrible plans, and soon uneasy alliances and unexpected action pave the way for an epic and unique global adventure.

To celebrate the release of Avengers Confidential: Black Widow & Punisher on DVD and Blu-ray today we decided to take a closer look at some of the comic book adventures of these two fan-favourite characters which would be most suitable for a future big screen adaptation in the near future.
Black Widow is of course played by Scarlett Johansson in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and will next be seen in Avengers: Age of Ultron after a starring role in Captain America: The Winter Soldier this year. The Punisher meanwhile hasn’t had a lot of luck in the movies, and while the rights are currently back at Marvel Studios, it’s been a long time since we’ve heard anything about a possible live-action appearance.
So, with three suggestions for both Black Widow and The Punisher, check out our list of ideas below and be sure to share your thoughts with...

With Iron Man interest at an all-time high, Marvel decided to shovel out this crap just before the actual Iron Man movie everyone wants to see opens, in a bid to make a quick buck. But don’t be taken in – this movie is an absolute mess from start to finish.
A bad guy with advanced biotech armour that outclasses Tony Stark’s Iron Man armour, attacks the launch of a Shield/Stark Enterprises surveillance satellite, causing hundreds of deaths including Tony’s best friend, Jim Rhodes aka War Machine. In the most confusing and contrived of sequences, Tony becomes a fugitive from Shield as Nick Fury sends out wave after wave of advanced weaponry to hunt down Iron Man. Meanwhile Tony tracks down Technovore only to discover it’s a far more dangerous construct than he imagined – but will he able to stop it and save the world?

Coming courtesy of Comic Vine here’s a handful of new images from Marvel and Sony Pictures Home Entertainment’s upcoming anime movie Iron Man: Rise Of Technovore, which arrives on Blu-Ray and DVD in the Us on April 16th and stars Matthew Mercer (Resident Evil: Damnation) as Tony Stark/Iron Man and Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead) as Frank Castle/The Punisher. Iron Man: Rise of Technovore is directed by Hiroshi Hamasaki and explores a confrontation between Iron Man and the villainous Ezekiel Stane, who develops new bio-technology that seemingly outclasses the Iron Man armor. After Stane unleashes a terrorist attack and sets Tony up to take the fall, Iron Man must evade S.H.I.E.L.D.’s man hunt and find a way to clear his name.

With all signs pointing to D.C. getting out of the original direct-to-dvd animated movie (or at least, making their footprint in the area noticeably smaller), maybe Marvel thinks this is the right time to step in. This wouldn’t be the first time Marvel has done original direct-to-dvd animated movies. They’ve achieved some measure of success with a pair of “Ultimate Avengers” titles, there was also a Doctor Strange flick that I quiet enjoyed, Iron Man, and of course, their Asian-created “X-Men” and “Blade” line of TV series. According to Marvel writer Jeph Loeb (via a podcast with something called Word Balloon), Marvel has plans for a new original animated movie starring everyone’s favorite skull-wearing vigilante, The Punisher. Not only Frank Castle and his war van (and, one assumes, Microchip as well — what’s Punisher without Microchip in the war van?), but also the Black Widow will be appearing.
