Did you know
- TriviaThe title is a parody on the classical Western movie threat, "This town ain't big enough for the two of us."
- Quotes
Winifred Gillis: For all these years you've been yelling that Dobie ought to listen to you.
Herbert T. Gillis: Sure, because I knew he wouldn't. Winnie, it is very easy for parents to advise their children, and you know why? If it turns out that the kid is right and the parent is wrong, well, that's fine, because, after all, the important thing is for the kid to be OK.
Winifred Gillis: Yes, dear.
Herbert T. Gillis: And if it turns out that the parent is right and the kid is wrong, you can always say...
Winifred Gillis: I told you so.
Herbert T. Gillis: Right.
Winifred Gillis: Which is a mighty good feeling.
Herbert T. Gillis: Oh, it certainly is. So, when parents advise their children, no matter which way it turns out, the parent has to wind up a winner. Providin', of course, the kid don't take the advice.

It turns out, Dobie is reaching for rich and beautiful Poppy (played by Mary Mitchel) --who doesn't care if he lives or dies! He will not give up, although Zelda tries to prepare him for a big fall. She's kind of his "guardian angel" this time, appearing when Dobie least expects it. He takes Poppy out for dinner and Zelda is their waiter, complete with paste on moustache?
What an embarrasing situation to be in, and if not for Zelda or Robert Browning, there's always Mr. Pomfritt to rely on for some fatherly, if not poetic advice.
Will Zelda win in the end? Stay tuned.
Good writing and acting. Mary Mitchel soon after this episode appeared in the cult chiller, DEMENTIA 13, also SPIDER BABY. Later in her career she was associated with director and close friend Francis Ford Coppola.
Dedicated to all us sitcom romantics.
