Excellent Beckett compilation with a great actor
AlanScottG2 June 2010
This is one of many fine PBS productions from the 1970s that seem to have disappeared. Jack McGowran, one of Beckett's favorite interpreters of his own work, created a one-man show of bits and pieces from Beckett's plays and novels. This production played to acclaim in New York and perhaps other places.

PBS made this film adaptation of the stage production, filming in the desert. My memory is that it was fascinating TV. I'd love to see it again. I suppose I should find out if the Paley Center has it. But it's sad to think that this may never again be seen by a wider audience than those who can get themselves to the Paley Center (and who would know about it in the first place).
