One of the most recognized and successful works of fiction, Jk Rowling’s Harry Potter novels, spilled over their success to the subsequent movie adaptations that began all the way back in 2001. Starring Daniel Radcliffe as its titular hero, the decade-long box office chokehold of the franchise and its eponymous connection to everyday pop culture has made it an integral part of modern cinema and turned a star-studded cast into a memorable unit.

In the Harry Potter movies, Durmstrang student Viktor Krum was played by Bulgarian actor Stanislav Yanevski. Although he continues his acting career, there is little known about him today.
In 2004, many universities in the UK held a casting for the role of Viktor Krum in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Stanislav was not interested in acting, but a school friend who was going to audition asked him to accompany him for moral support.
While waiting for his friend, Stanislav caught the eye of the casting director, who immediately noticed the athletic young man. A few days later, the agent contacted Stanislav and asked him to come to the audition. Stanislav decided to give it a try, and after three long auditions, the young man officially got the role, beating out over 600 candidates.

7. Pansy Parkinson
For some who adds absolutely no value to the story, Pansy Parkinson has way too many mentions. Her only point is to be the insufferable person whose most notable achievement is trying to surrender Harry to Voldemort in The Deathly Hallows.
Pansy feels like a character that once had a purpose but then was randomly discarded.

Madam Hooch is one of the Hogwarts teachers, but she’s… Useless. She’s only there to give first-year students one lesson but still manages to mess it up: she can neither save a falling kid nor prevent problems in her class. J.K. Rowling’s popular adventures of ‘The Boy Who Lived‘ will be given new life! Pottermore Publishing and Audible have teamed up to produce a series of full-cast recordings of all seven Harry Potter books!
We learned of the unexpected announcement via Variety. The production will include a cast exceeding 100 actors, similar to an audio drama but on a vastly larger scale.
Production has not started yet, but a teaser video from the official Harry Potter YouTube channel shows off the audible recording studio. Rather than recording lines separately (like we see with a lot of voiceover work), it would appear that several cast members will be in the room at one time.
This sort of environment can change the performances is several ways. The dynamic allows actors to play off each other’s performances in real-time. These new audiobooks could possibly be the most perfect adaptation of the Harry...

J.K. Rowling is not someone who shies away from killing characters in the Harry Potter franchise. Starting from his parents to deaths that crushed the souls of fans, such as Fred Weasley, Sirius Black, and even Severus Snape. The very act of a character dying plays a narrative role as well as an impactful one on both the audiences and the characters within the story.
The iconic ‘7 Harrys’ Scene from Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows – Part One
Many times, authors find themselves regretting or relishing the characters that die by their hands. Out of the many that met their end by Voldemort’s wand, there is only one whom Rowling wishes she could have done justice to.

Actors and actresses have their own most liked and disliked moments in their projects they become a part of, which can oftentimes, be the complete opposite of what the fans think about the same. For Daniel Radcliffe, the moment was the iconic ‘7 Harrys’ scene.
This particular scene, which was introduced in Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows – Part One, became a fan favorite since it featured Radcliffe doing different takes in different outfits of other characters.

But according to the actor himself, he revealed that it was probably one of his lesser loved scenes to shoot for his role as Harry Potter in the franchise because it was exhausting. On the other hand, he was also excited while shooting this segment because he got to realize how he could easily play the role of Emma Watson’s Hermione Granger while he wore ladies’ clothing.

An American Bombing: The Road to April 19th looks at the surge of political violence and anti-government sentiment that led to the 1995 Oklahoma City Bombing, and the effects still felt nearly 30 years later. Scottish actor Peter Mullan, whose credits include The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Westworld, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, passed through Series Mania in Lille this week, where he participated in what turned out to be one of the festival’s most raucous masterclass sessions.
Mullan appeared alongside French journalist Charlotte Blum, who chaired the session and quizzed the Scotsman on his decades-long career and his philosophy of acting.
“The thing with acting like any form of play is that it’s fun when you are playing,” Mullan said. “A footballer can relive the moment of scoring the goal, but it’s not as much fun as scoring the goal. And it’s the same with acting. You can relive it if you want. You can sit and watch yourself all day long if you want.”

He has made his lack of involvement with the new season very clear on social media, where he even went so far as to refer to one element of the new episodes as “stupid”. True Detective: Night Country comes to us from Tigers Are Not Afraid filmmaker Issa López, who directed and co-wrote all six episodes of the season. In March 2017, Disney’s live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast opened to a monstrous $357 million globally. It marked the seventh-largest domestic debut ever and the top start for a PG title, eventually finding its place on the list of the highest-grossing films of all time with lifetime box office earnings of $1.27 billion.
Leading up to the release, Disney said the movie represented a massive step forward in visual effects — playing up the CG rendering of Dan Stevens’ Beast — through the use of VFX technology called Mova Contour Reality Capture. “When you see Beast onscreen, there is something so human about him,” said Emma Watson, who played Belle, at a press conference in Paris for the film, noting that the patented tech “really captures the subtlety of Dan’s facial expression.” She stressed, “I don’t think the world has seen anything like it before.”

The hardworking, immensely talented, and woefully underappreciated stunt community is mourning one of their own. Taraja Ramsess, a veteran stuntman of several superhero movies such as "Black Panther," "Avengers: Infinity War," and "Black Adam" (among many other action-heavy productions) tragically passed away this past Halloween in a car accident that also claimed the lives of two daughters, Sundari and Fujibo, and his son Kisasi. Ramsess was only 41 years of age. The news was reported by local news outlet Fox-Atlanta and subsequently confirmed by Ramsess' mother Akili, who memorialized her late son and grandchildren in two heartbreaking Instagram posts.
Ramsess' career in film had stretched back to his time as a set dresser on 2009's "Halloween II," working on a number of high-profile productions such as "Fast Five," "The Walking Dead," and "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" before truly coming into his own as a prolific stunt performer. Now, Holmes and Radcliffe have partnered up to tell the former gymnast’s coming-of-age story leading up to and following the accident. The documentary features candid personal footage shot over the last decade; a behind-the-scenes look at Holmes’ stunt work; scenes of his current life; and intimate interviews with Holmes, his friends and family, the Harry Potter star and some of the film’s crew.
“Being a stuntman is the best job in the world,” Holmes says early in the trailer of the doc. “You’re constantly being tested, just risking it all. I used to fly. Nothing’s like it, man.”
Holmes, Radcliffe, who executive produces the doc, and the rest of the Harry Potter cast grew up together.

Loving "Harry Potter" is immensely complicated these days, between its creator's inexcusable transphobia and the underlying problems that have always been there since the Wizarding World began. Loving many of the people who made the "Harry Potter" films, on the other hand, is as easy as pie, especially the cast members who have taken it upon themselves to publicly speak out against the bigotry propagated by the author who gave us The Boy Who Lived. But what about all those unsung artists who toiled away in the background to help make the "Harry Potter" films a reality? Thanks to an upcoming documentary, one of those folks is finally getting some deserved time in the spotlight.
You might not know the name David Holmes, but you've almost certainly seen his work. Holmes served as Daniel Racliffe's stunt double throughout the first six "Harry Potter" movies, stepping in to take a beating...

Studiocanal has revealed the brand spanking new red band trailer for ‘Wicked Little Letters’, the razor-sharp British comedy from director Thea Sharrock.
Based on a true story, a 1920s English seaside town bears witness to a farcical and occasionally sinister scandal in this riotous mystery comedy. Based on a stranger-than-fiction true story, the feature follows two neighbours: deeply conservative local Edith Swan (Olivia Colman) and rowdy Irish migrant Rose Gooding (Jessie Buckley). When Edith and her fellow residents begin to receive wicked letters full of unintentionally hilarious profanities, foul-mouthed Rose is charged with the crime. The anonymous letters prompt a national uproar, and a trial ensues. However, as the town’s women – led by Police Officer Gladys Moss (Anjana Vasan) – begin to investigate the crime themselves, they suspect something is amiss, and Rose may not be the culprit after all.

HBO has readied a documentary about David Holmes, the stuntman who stood in for Daniel Radcliffe in almost all of the Harry Potter films before he was paralyzed on the set of Deathly Hallows Part 1. The film, entitled David Holmes: The Boy Who Lived, premieres on HBO and Max November 15th. Update: Watch the trailer below.
Holmes, described as a “prodigious teenage gymnast from Essex, England,” worked as Radcliffe’s stunt double from 2001’s Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone until 2010’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, when he broke his neck while performing a stunt and became paralyzed from the chest down. Directed by Dan Hartley, the documentary tells his story with behind-the-scenes material from Holmes’ stunt career, personal footage from the past decade, and interviews with friends, family, and crew members. Radcliffe is among those featured in the film and also serves as an executive producer.

Daniel Radcliffe is partnering up with David Holmes, his longtime stunt double in the Harry Potter films, to create a documentary based on his life.
Holmes was brought onto the film franchise ahead of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and, over the course of 10 years, he and Radcliffe formed an “inextricable bond.” However, in the penultimate film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, Holmes had a tragic accident on set that left him paralyzed after a spinal injury.
“As Daniel and his closest stunt colleagues rally to support David and his family in their moment of need, it is David’s extraordinary spirit of resilience that becomes their greatest source of strength and inspiration,” Warner Bros. Discovery said in a statement about the documentary, which is directed by Dan Hartley (Lad: A Yorkshire Story).

Before the “Harry Potter” films, there were J.K. Rowling’s books. The first book, “Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone,” was published in 1997. Nearly 26 years later, eleven films, one reunion special and a Universal experience dedicated to the magical Wizarding World have grown out of Rowling’s literary staple in childhood fiction.

The Harry Potter films tell the story of a young boy who overcomes tragedy to become a great wizard. Based on the books by J.K. Rowling (who has said some things that are absolutely awful), the stories spellbound millions of people who waited for their owl message telling them they got into Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and bought wands by the gazillions. Meanwhile, behind the scenes, some incredible stunt performers were doing amazing work to make us buy that the main actors were actually pulling off these feats of bravery. There was flying on brooms, fight scenes, explosions, and so much more over the course of eight films. Stuntman David Holmes was there for every one of them, doubling star Daniel Radcliffe and taking on the dangerous things the main actor couldn't do.
Unfortunately, during a rehearsal scene for "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," Holmes was injured.

The Harry Potter franchise is a global phenomenon that has persisted since the final book was released and after its last movie hit theaters. Despite this, it thrives in multiple forms, including theme parks (Universal Studios Butterbeer anyone?), freeform marathons, video games, and re-readable novels.

This post contains spoilers for "John Wick: Chapter 4" and the later "Harry Potter" films.
In "John Wick: Chapter 4," John Wick (Keanu Reeves) must reunite with his estranged family in order to finally rid himself of the High Table and remove the sizable bounty on his head. When he visits his family, however, he has a rude reunion with Katia Jovanovich, Wick's long-lost adoptive sibling who is played by none other than actor Natalia Tena. Clad in leather and covered in prison ink tattoos, Jovanovich is a leader of the Ruska Roma assassins last seen in "John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum."
Tena is a veteran of several high-profile film franchises and blends into her new tough role so completely that it's a little hard to place her at first. She makes a lasting impression in the supposed final fourth chapter of the series, and she may even turn up...

Since a certain show about houses and dragons just wrapped, HBO Max has a big scheduling hole fill next month. How will they go about it? Let’s find out with the streamer’s list of new releases for November 2022!
Obviously, there is no replacing House of the Dragon‘s cultural impact so HBO is looking for some singles in November, rather than the homerun. Things get started on in promising fashion on Nov. 3. That date sees the premiere of Titans season 4 and the interesting true crime documentary Low Country: The Murdaugh Dynasty. The former will continue the adventures of DC’s heralded Titans team (and introduce some new heavy hitters) while the latter will try to keep pace with Netflix’s prolific true crime output.

Stranger Things star Jamie Campbell Bower recalled how he bombed his Harry Potter audition by telling a Nsfw joke.
Bower rose to fame earlier this year when he starred as the villainous Vecna in the fourth season of Netflix’s hit sci-fi series.
During a recent appearance on Josh Horowitz’s Happy Sad Confused podcast, Bower recalled a significant misstep he made in an audition for the 2001 film Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
Bower, 33, was a teenager when he met with the film’s producer Chris Columbus. He was going up for the titular role of Harry Potter, which famously went to Daniel Radcliffe.
The actor was asked to prepare a joke for his audition.

Jamie Campbell Bower is a man of many talents, but he's not particularly good at telling jokes. Since "Stranger Things" season 4 was released on Netflix, Jamie Campbell Bower has been wildly popular for his role as Vecna, the towering, humanoid-looking villain of the sci-fi series. Not many people know that Bower has been an internet secret for much longer — the actor's stint in multiple adaptations of popular YA novels has attracted our attention for quite some time. Bower finally got his due with the "Stranger Things" role that displayed his raw talent as a performer and a voice artist, and now he's getting candid about one of his worst audition experiences.
"The Mortal Instruments" star auditioned for a role in "Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone," the first film set in the billion-dollar-making fantasy adventure franchise. Bower met with director Chris Columbus (who helmed the first two "Harry Potter" films...

The new movie "Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore" takes the step that its 2018 predecessor, "The Crimes of Grindelwald," didn't. In the very first scene, Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) tells Gellert Grindelwald (Mads Mikkelsen) that he used to be in love with him. The moment is a long time coming. At the end of the seventh "Harry Potter" book, "The Deathly Hallows," Dumbledore reveals to Harry that he and Grindelwald - the dark wizard he defeated in 1945, cementing his own legacy as one of the greatest wizards of all time - were childhood friends, with deadly consequences. Shortly after the book's release, J.K. Rowling was asked why no character in the books is gay. She responded that actually someone is - Dumbledore, and that he was in love with Grindelwald.
In "The Secrets of Dumbledore," the powerful wizard is explicit that he was in love with Grindelwald, the first canonical acknowledgement of their relationship.

The summer movie season may be winding down, but HBO Max is keeping the movie ball rolling in September 2021. HBO Max’s list of new releases this month is heavy on the film side of things – both in library and original offerings.

The next installment in Adventure Time: Distant Lands (which is kind of like a film series!) is titled Wizard City and opens the month on Sept. 2
Of course, it wouldn’t be a new month of HBO Max releases without some interesting evergreen Warner movie titles. Sept. 1 finds all eight Harry Potter movies returning to WarnerMedia’s streaming service. They will be accompanied by The Goonies, The Evil Dead, Cloverfield, and more. Johnny Depp has been asked to resign from his role as Gellert Grindelwald in the “Fantastic Beasts” films, but the film is shooting in the U.K. now and hopes to hit theaters in the summer of 2022, so Warner Bros. will likely be moving quickly to find someone to recast in the role. While we’ll update you with the news of who actually gets the part when that time comes, we did some nerding out and did our own fan casting for who might be able to replace him. Incredibly there are some actors who have yet to star in a Harry Potter movie, so here are some we had in mind.
Colin Farrell
This one would make the most sense, as Grindelwald spent the majority of “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” disguised as Graves, who in a last minute reveal at the end turned out to be a transfigured Depp.

Kate Mulgrew is returning to the Star Trek universe. The actress who played Captain Kathryn Janeway for seven seasons from 1995 to 2001 on Star Trek: Voyager has been cast as the lead in Nickelodeon’s upcoming Star Trek: Prodigy series, an animated show that hopes to bring more kids into the world of Trek.
“I have invested every scintilla of my being in Captain Janeway, and I can’t wait to endow her with nuance that I never did before in Star Trek: Prodigy,” said Mulgrew during today’s “Star Trek Universe” panel at virtual Nycc. “How thrilling to be able to introduce to these young minds an idea that has elevated the world for decades. To be at the helm again is going to be deeply gratifying in a new way for me.”

Harry Melling broke into the acting world in 2001 when he was cast as Dudley Dursley in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. He continued to play the role throughout the film series making his final appearance in the 2010 film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1. Even though he’s already accomplished a lot, his future is looking equally as bright. He has a role in the upcoming Netflix mini series, The Queen’s Gambit,

HBO Max parent company WarnerMedia announced on Monday that all eight Harry Potter films — 2001’s Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, 2002’s Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, 2004’s Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, 2005’s Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, 2007’s Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, 2009’s Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, 2010’s Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 and 2011’s...

J.K. Rowling might have hundreds of millions of dollars and be one of the most beloved authors in the world, but I don’t envy her for having to follow-up the Harry Potter series. Since that finished, her literary output has been consciously separate from it, going so far as to publish under the pen-name Robert Galbraith and release mystery books targeted at adults without fantastical elements.
But now she’s just announced a new story: The Ickabog. This was first written back in the mid-2000s while she was working on the final Harry Potter books, though is not a part of the Wizarding World. Her original plan was to publish it after The Deathly Hallows, but she instead shelved it and decided to shift her focus. In a series of tweets, she revealed the existence of the story, that the only people to have ever heard it are...
