This is quite a basic karate game, however it contains quite good graphics. Looking back it is quite impressive the way such graphics were back in the eighties.
I like the way how three players are used. In one player mode, the other two are operated by the computer and in two player mode, only the one player is, either way you always have at least one computer player. This is quite a nice breath of fresh air as most other beat-em-up games are just two.
I also like the occasional humour which would arise by the referee. things like "Red is terminated for being lazy" although this was very very rare. There is also additional humour with players trousers occasionally falling down and the comical pain noises when the players are hit.
I sometimes used to like playing in two player mode with just myself and I could just batter the other "human" player as he wouldn't fight back, because there was no other player with me to control him. However this player would be eliminated after just a couple of rounds and it would be back to one player mode.
Another feature of the game would be to change the speed of the fighting, the fastest was rated "Turbo" and the slowest was called "Yawn". I used to find playing in Turbo was quite fun.
I was not really much good at the game, however with all these little funny bits added, it makes the game a whole lot better.
