Interesting idea, but execution lacks focus.

This is an interesting premise, instead of the usual one or two linked (or completely unconnected) stories, as is usually the case with Silent Witness, here we have multiple stories with no connections and some have no real crimes attached. It's almost a type of "a day in the life of a pathologist" episode. Some ideas are more compelling than others, and some work better than others, one or two ideas are a bit too much of a coincidence or too contrived. Harry and the attractive WPC for instance. My wife and I did enjoy it and, although we both agreed, while it was an engaging experiment, we both prefer the more standard format. But big plaudits for being brave to try something different.

A Day in the Life

A bevy of cases come the way of the pathology department. Some of them are personal, some are random, some are natural, but it is a hopping episode to say the least. I guess it is positive that we get to see things worked out in an orderly fashion by professionals. The personal part of it is overplayed a bit. There should be more anonymity, but we do need to push our protagonists a bit personally.

Terribly disappointing

Very disappointing two parter That starts off well enough but ends up being filled with slow motion fillers with loud background music. Feels like they ran out of story so used this for filler. Hopefully no further episodes follow this format.

Tons of filler!!!!

This two episode arc has lots of people dying from natural causes, only two of which are related to each other. It's really an anthology of short stories, with little detail and tons of slomo filler with music. I think there could easily be a full half hour of just useless slomo. If this keeps up, we'll be dropping this series. I miss Sam. This was a total waste of time this evening. Cannot believe how bad it was.

Absolutely all over the place.

The Lyell team continue to soft through a variety of unexplained deaths.

I have been a loyal fan of the show since that very first episode, some episodes I have watched several times, some just the once, this being one I've not seen for sixteen years.

Part one was hard to follow, this second episode was even worse. It's absolutely all over the place, it lacks any focus, and leaves the viewer trying to piece together a series of random events. They tried something a little different here, good idea, the execution was a mess though.

Lee's death seemed to be the main storyline that carried over into this second part, but the conclusion of that was far from satisfying, sometimes ambiguity was good, in this instance it didn't work.

I think there were a few casting issues too, I won't add names, but one of the guest actors is atrociously out of place, and brings the whole episode down.

Best element, being reminded of the BMW M6, what a beautiful motor that was.

Hard work, 5/10.
