Judith Light met her Transparent co-star Jeffrey Tambor long before her debut as Shelly Pfefferman.
The 68-year-old actress opens up about her decades-long friendship with the actor — and reveals whether or not their friendship blossomed into a romance.

We told you back in April that Bryan Fuller‘s pilot for Syfy, High Moon, had gone into production. Four months later they’re announcing lead casting, so I’m trying to not be concerned about the time that’s elapsed, and instead be pleased about this forward momentum.
I love Bryan Fuller‘s work with Our Kind of Shows (Pushing Daisies, Dead Like Me, Wonderfalls and more), so I’d really love to see this one go forward.

I love an actor like Jake Sandvig. He’s a working actor (Easy A, series regular in Twenty Good Years and Cracking Up) but instead of sitting around and waiting for an audition, he chose to do something about it.
He and his friend, Brian Crano, made a film.
Directed by Crano and co-written by both he and Sandvig, the film is a comedy about two immature friends whose lives are completely changed when an abandoned child enters their lives. Starring Sandvig, Jason Ritter, Rebecca Hall and Carrie Preston, it’s a great indie comedy that you should definitely check out when you get a chance.
I talked to Jake at SXSW about writing his first script, casting the movie and nightmare audition stories.
You’re wrote this movie?
Jake Sandvig: Yeah, I co-wrote with the director Brian Crano, good buddy of mine.
How did that happen? Have you ever written a script before?...

Last week, NBC announced that they were shaking up their schedule, particularly on Thursday nights. The Emmy Award-nominated sitcom Scrubs is returning earlier than expected and the freshman comedy 30 Rock will be moving to Thursday nights. These two comedies, combined with My Name Is Earl and The Office, will create a block of sitcoms on Thursday nights that NBC hopes will return them to the glory days of their past Must-See TV (shows like The Cosby Show, Family Ties, Seinfeld, Cheers, etc.). This new schedule will take effect at the end of the current sweeps period on November 30th.
Kevin Reilly, President of NBC Entertainment announced, "We are excited about the prospect of two-hours of top-notch comedy on Thursday nights, which includes the return of Scrubs. We will stay on-brand with the best comedy block on television, which will position us for the future on the night."

NEW YORK -- ABC won Wednesday in the adults 18-49 demographic but lost in viewership to CBS, whose Criminal Minds once again overtook Lost at 9:30 p.m. and the entire hour.
ABC placed ahead of CBS in adults 18-49 for the night, winning both the 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. hours comfortably. But the momentum shifted to CBS at 10 p.m., which won in the demo and viewership with CSI: NY. And even though ABC trounced all comers at 8 p.m. with the Dancing With The Stars results show, CBS won the night in viewership.
Dancing With The Stars (19.2 million, 4.9 rating/13 share in adults 18-49) started off the night for ABC down slightly from last week's 20.2 million and 5.1/14, according to preliminary estimates released Thursday by Nielsen Media Research. Nothing else came even close. CBS' Jericho (10 million, 3.1/8) was down slightly compared to last week's 10.6 million, 3.2/9. After a month on the bench thanks to the baseball postseason, Fox's Bones (7.4 million, 3.3/8) was down only 4% in the demo.
NBC's sitcoms 30 Rock (4.8 million, 1.8/5) and 20 Good Years (4.2 million, 1.5/4) continued their declines and were beaten by The CW's America's Next Top Model (4.4 million, 2.1/6) in the demo.
Lost (16.1 million, 6.6/12) remained the night's demo winner but a surging Criminal Minds (16.7 million, 4.9/12) sailed past it at 9:30 p.m. and for the entire hour. The Biggest Loser (7.8 million, 3.3/8) helped NBC recover a bit at 9 p.m. while the premiere of the Fox game show The Rich List (4.1 million, 1.5/4) was tepid.

NEW YORK -- ABC two-stepped its way to first place in both key audience measures Wednesday, with Dancing With The Stars and Lost carrying the network to victory over CBS's formidable Wednesday night drama lineup.
ABC had both the most-watched show of the night in the Dancing results show as well as highest-rated show in the adults 18-49 demographic with Lost. But even then, CBS made it a close race in viewers, particularly at 9:30 p.m. with Criminal Minds surpassing Lost in viewers although not in the demo.
ABC's night started strong with Dancing, which overpowered everything else in the hour with 19.9 million viewers and a 5.1 rating/14 share in the adults 18-49 demo, according to preliminary estimates released Thursday by Nielsen Media Research. That was ahead of everything else, including Jericho (10.5 million, 3.2/9) that was up slightly in the demo compared to last week. NBC's 30 Rock, which the network announced would move to Thursdays, averaged 6 million viewers and a 2.1/6 in the demo (compared to last week's 5.7 million, 2.3/7). 20 Good Years (5.4 million, 2.0/5) was up slightly from last week but flat in the demo.
The 9 p.m. battleground saw Lost (16.8 million, 6.9/17) victorious over Criminal Minds (16.6 million, 4.4/11) but by only 200,000 viewers. At 9:30 p.m., Criminal Minds beat Lost in viewers, 17.6 million to 16.5 million. NBC saw improvements with The Biggest Loser (7.8 million, 3.3/8).
CBS' advantage continued with CSI: NY (17 million, 5.4/14), which dominated 10 p.m. against The Nine (8 million, 3.0/8) and Dateline (8.6 million, 3.2/9).

NBC is bringing back its trademark two-hour comedy block on Thursdays with freshman 30 Rock and Scrubs joining My Name Is Earl and The Office. Meanwhile, another new NBC comedy, Twenty Good Years, is being pulled off the schedule.
30 Rock will be first to join the Thursday lineup Nov. 16 for a supersize night of 40-minute episodes of Earl, Office and 30 Rock leading into "ER."
Comedy will take a breather the following week, Thanksgiving night, when NBC will air a two-hour Deal or No Deal from 8-10 p.m.
Beginning Nov. 30, the four single-camera comedies will take over their new regular slots: Earl and Office staying put at 8 and 8:30, followed by Scrubs at 9 and 30 Rock at 9:30 p.m. For Scrubs, it will mark a return to Thursdays, where it aired behind Friends during the 2002-03 and 2003-04 seasons.

NEW YORK -- ABC and CBS split victories in key measures during Wednesday's primetime, with Lost surpassed in viewership by Criminal Minds in its last half-hour. CBS prevailed for the night in viewership despite ABC's Dancing With the Stars results show being tagged as Wednesday's top show in viewership. ABC won in the adults 18-49 demographic, though CBS was only three-tenths of a point behind, according to Nielsen Media Research. Dancing averaged 18.2 million viewers and a 4.6 rating/13 share in the adults 18-49 demographic, easily winning its hour in both measures. CBS' nuclear-war drama Jericho (10.9 million, 3.2/9) came in second, about in line with last week, while NBC's dual premieres of 30 Rock (8.1 million, 2.9/8) and Twenty Good Years (7 million, 2.5/7) had to swim in an unusually competitive time slot -- not only against Dancing and Jericho but also the CW's America's Next Top Model (5.5 million, 2.7/8) and Fox's coverage of Game 2 of the American League Championship Series.

NBC's Wednesday comedies are on the move again. The peacock is flipping the pairing of half-hour Twenty Good Years and 30 Rock, switching the latter to 8 p.m. and putting "Good" at 8:30 p.m. The Biggest Loser remains at 9 p.m. "We have the luxury of starting Wednesdays with either of two great new comedies," said Kevin Reilly, president of NBC Entertainment. "We ultimately felt that this change creates better audience flow throughout the night, with 'Twenty Good Years' a more compatible lead-in to 'The Biggest Loser' at 9 p.m."...
