Sex & Nudity

  • The character of Isaac Laforeze displays an affinity towards bondage and self-mortification, two lifestyles that can be seen as auto-erotic.
  • He also has an effeminate tone of voice and demeanor, with some speculating that he may have tendencies towards homosexuality.

Violence & Gore

  • Lots of violence and action.
  • Hector kills countless horrific monsters with various bladed and clubbed weapons. Some blood and gore can be seen, particularly from non-skeletal monsters.
  • Many of Dracula's attacks in his Final Shape take the form of physical waves of blood.

Profanity

  • Very mild cursing.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • One food item Hector collects in his travels is a bottle of wine, brewed three years prior. He can drink this for slight health regeneration.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • In keeping with the Castlevania storyline, the game is rather dark and dreary in approach.
  • The standard fare of monsters, both undead and horrific, are seen and dealt with.
  • Throughout the onslaught of Dracula's curse, the country of Wallachia experiences horror upon horror, such as plague, famine and the darkening of hearts, leading to a dark shadowy look placed upon the land.
  • The Cordova Town level appears run down and derelict, filled with zombies and ghouls. It is not implied that the undead were the town's original inhabitants, but it could be the case.
