- TriviaAccording to Noah Hawley, the writer of the episode, the main idea of the episode was that the characters would get to save a person's life by using their skills, whereas in most of the series' episodes they find a dead body, then investigate the death. Hawley also wanted to raise Booth's stakes in this case, then give him the chance to take some real action and save a boy's life not just based on his expertise as an investigator and a sniper, but also as a father. In addition, the security review conducted on the characters in the episode was used to explore each person's quirks and create possible scenarios that played against who the audience thinks they are.
- GoofsBrennan says that the television interview was her first. She had been interviewed for television (with Penny Marshall) in the previous episode, The Woman at the Airport (2006).
- Quotes
Agent Pickering: Didn't I see you on television this morning, Dr. Brennan?
Dr. Temperance 'Bones' Brennan: How could I possibly know what you watched on television?

Good Father Instincts
This is another good episode where Booth and Brennan work well together fighting and finding justice. This one, like the refrigerator one, is a rare one where the "who done it" is figured out pretty quickly. Instead of looking for a bad guy, the team is looking for a little boy. This hits close to home for Booth, who is a father of a young boy himself...
After watching the entire series (up through near the end of season 11), I find it interesting that Brennan declares rather adamantly that she will never have children. It's nice to see how much her character evolves over the years!
And of course, there's some chemistry in play.
I questioned the care seat in the police SUV for two reasons: 1. His son is five years old, isn't he? therefore, he doesn't need a car seat - but a booster seat. 2. Why do we see a car seat now but then B & B have two children, we never see one? Just wondering...
