It's a bleak start.
Sleepin_Dragon22 October 2022
Leo investigates the death of a man found at The Thames, Nikki is called in to investigate a young Chinese woman found in the same location, the deaths are identical.

Bleak, this is a decidedly bleak story, made back in 2006, and the problem of human trafficking is still as big now as it was back then. It's a pretty good episode I thought, it's more what Silent Witness is in its later years, than it was at the start.

Made back when they loved to gross out the viewer, so expect an array of body parts and organs.

The first thing you'll probably notice, is the switch up, Nikki is taking much more of a central role, previously she was pretty much equal with Leo and Harry, here though she's become more of the lead, and she's great.

One issue I have this one, Detective Superintendant Vijay Ashar, he's just loathsome, he has zero compassion, zero sensibility, I think he's a little over the top.

A mixed bag, but a good story, 7/10.

Human Trafficking
Hitchcoc17 March 2019
Numerous bodies are washed up on a beach and the job becomes finding out who they are and where they came from. Due to the ethnicity and race, it appeared that this was an example of human trafficking on an overloaded boat. Some survived and were absorbed into the adjacent population. But one real immediate issue is that there are some really bad people out there who orchestrated this. So we are left hanging a bit.

Disappointing the stories cannot stick to forensic pathology
This episode is an anomaly, I hope. As earlier in the series, the writers can't seem to stay in their lane. Stick to the Silent Witnesses. Now the pathologists are fully part of police investigations and - worse - interfering in police interrogations. If it wants to be a cop show, fine, but at least draw the lines between roles. This is a mess.
