I was beside myself watching this awful episode. The only thing good about it was the ghost town backdrop (with quaint old building signs) and Rowdy arguing with Wishbone over the biscuits.
**spoilers**
Since I like the series so much, I had to gird myself to sit through the whole wretched episode. Whew! It started out so boring as Gil and Rowdy went looking for some missing cattle. Then began the implausible (in every way) story about two women stagecoach passengers held as hostage in the middle of nowhere for a ransom. There is a lot of shooting, and the two bad guys can't hit Rowdy and Favor. Finally Rowdy is wounded, and the bad guys don't kill him; instead they imprison him. The younger woman is attracted to the younger bad guy, a real lout. .. ..... The worst part is when Rowdy and Favor give up their guns to the bad guy, who was pointing a gun at the worthless young girl -- a move that should have been certain death to them. Since Rowdy and Favor had the drop on the bad guys, Rowdy and Favor should have called his bluff and ordered the bad guys to leave without the girl. .... ..... Then Rowdy and Favor, without guns, somehow come out on top even though they are being chased by the two bad guys who have guns. I forgot to mention that in the middle of all of this, Favor and the old lady discuss how she mis-raised her child and repulsed her husband. Ugh The acting of the bad guy was pretty bad: he seemed nonplussed when his son died at the end. .
