This episode is notable for the fact that four actors made their final acting appearances. Ray Collins was forced to leave the show due to his emphysema, and guest stars Elaine Stewart and Byron Palmer retired from acting after their appearances in this episode. Sadly, Karyn Kupcinet was murdered just before this episode aired.
First episode scored by Richard Shores. He would score one additional episode in the seventh season and almost every episode in the two remaining seasons.
Due to declining health and failing memory, it was apparent that Ray Collins would not be returning to work on the series after this, his final appearance. However, his name would appear in the opening title sequence through the eighth season. Executive producer Gail Patrick Jackson was aware that Collins watched the show every week and wished not to discourage him. Some sources say that Raymond Burr insisted on having Collins' name appear in the credits so that he would continue to be covered by his actors union health plan.
