Knight Rider: No Big Thing
Scarecrow-8814 September 2011
Warning: Spoilers
A crooked county police force, operating behind the iron fist of a corrupt judge, arrest Devon (Edward Mulhare) for a wrongful traffic violation and break out his headlight for extra kicks. What these bastards don't plan on is a supercar which can sustain bullets, drive backwards efficiently, and leap over a truck (through the trailer without a scratch) when a diesel coming towards it offers those inside the vehicle little hope of surviving. Devon was on his way through this Podunk part of Texas to meet an investigative reporter, Frank Reston (Jim Haynie), who had been spending a lot of time and effort to blow the lid of the county of Lyndhurst Flats, specifically Judge Roland S Paxton (Logan Ramsey; The Beast Within), Sgt Wallace (Ted Markland) and Officer Rex Saunders (Grainger Hines) for the immoral use of the power in their possession. Devon is put away in a correctional facility, with Paxton wanting Wallace and Saunders to kill him because he can link them to the death of Frank (after beating him, Frank fell unconscious and never awoke). An escape thanks to two other inmates may be Devon's only safe method of eluding certain death. Michael Knight (David Hasselhoff) will learn of Paxton's abuse of power from Frank's ex-wife, Carol (Mary-Margaret Humes), as they pursue Devon's whereabouts while evading the county police out to stop them. Plenty of stunts and witty barbs from KITT make "No Big Thing" yet another entertaining episode. The novelty of Devon becoming a temporary jailbird and helping stage a "great escape" will probably be what most audiences will remember most about this particular episode. That and the protracted chase through a long grove. Seeing Devon slug Paxton is also quite amusing...

No Big Thing

Devon's the star in this one. He gets arrested on some trumped up traffic violation charges by some crooked cops controlled by a bent judge.

Devon was on his way to town to meet an investigative journalist who is close to getting the dirt on the judge. He got too close and the journalist winds up dead. Michael turns up looking for Devon and realises that this is a crooked town and the cops might want to get rid of Devon.

We learn that Devon escaped from the Gestapo twice during WWII, he masterminds a ludicrous escape from prison here, I can only fathom Mr Magoo was looking at the cctv.

Devin Related Show!

Warning: Spoilers
It was good for once to see Devin get the focus and spotlight on the show. As Michael in a sense, took a backseat as he is of course the focus.

Devin is arrested by a bunch of corrupt county cops and jailed over just a minor issue like a traffic ticket. As Michael at first thinks this is funny hearing from Bonnie but it sounds and turns serious. On what should had been a slam dunk case.

But it is more complicated than ever. As the cops are being run by the even more corrupt judge in the town as he owns it. As one person that was in jail with Devin ends up losing his life to the cops that can link them with other crimes.

It is a race against time for Michael to rescue Devin and the other inmates as well. Really nice to see Devin haul off and hit the idiot judge in the end.

Good episode
coltras355 September 2021
Devon Miles is arrested on a traffic violation in Lyndhurst Flats and ends up sharing a jail with Frank Reston, the very journalist he was planning to meet. When Reston is killed by the corrupt police officers because he had too much evidence against them, Devon's life becomes forfeit as he was the last one to see Reston alive. Michael teams up with Frank's ex-wife Carol in his search for Devon.

Nice to see Devon Miles get more screen time in this lively entry. He even shows how smart he is by escaping prison with other jailbirds. The villains - the crooked cop and the judge - are nasty pieces of work. Of course, there are the usual car chases. It's a good episode.

Crime don't pay

Civilian crime fighters fighting against corrupt crime fighters with the help of criminals. Solid premise for the episode, the Hoff helping out his British damsel in distress.
