Knight takes a detour in more way than one to help out a damsel in distress. I find it odd that he was basically allowed to wander around a military base.

Michael Knight helps a lady
coltras354 September 2021
Michael Knight picks up a hitchhiking girl, who turns out to be West Point graduate Robin Ladd, who hoped to make her dad, Colonel Ernest Ladd, proud. Arriving at his Army base, they hear he was killed in a car crash. Posing as an insurance agent, Michael proves it was no accident. He soon discovers the murder was to cover up

Ok episode which has some good action scenes with Kitt racing across the testing site with rockets going off. The series is finding its feet, but it's watchable. However it's a routine episode.

Deadly Maneuvers

Michael Knight is playing computer games in his car while KITT is on auto pilot. I think he was playing a racing game with KITT. Whoever he was playing it was a number of shows from that era reflecting the home computer boom.

Knight picks up a West Point graduate Robin Ladd whose car has broken down. She wants to meet her father, a colonel in the army. When she arrives at the army base she finds out that he died in a car crash.

Knight helps out to investigate and finds out that the crash could not had happened the way the army said he did. It seems Robin's father uncovered military corruption and some people in the army are now out to stop Robin and Knight.

A rather average episode. It is notable how Robin just jumps into a car of a total stranger she just met. How Knight gets to go in and out at will of an army base with nuclear weapons. Also KITT is a super car but its circuits break down when it has to tow a car. At least it introduces Bonnie as a tech mechanic into the show and a female one as well.

Average third episode

Warning: Spoilers
DEADLY MANEUVERS is the third-ever episode of KNIGHT RIDER and a rather perfunctory one if I'm honest. The whole thing feels like it's still trying to find the right tone and although KITT features predominantly, Hasselhoff seems a bit unsure of himself here. The plot is okay, about corruption on an army base, but it takes a while to get going and is never quite as exciting as it should be.
