One flaw

Decent story especially since it stands alone in this season.

There is one flaw. The transition from the stands to the police station was abrupt and telegraphed what was coming instead of building up a little more suspense.

Carl Robinson Strikes Out
danrs00000823 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Immortal and pro baseball pitcher Carl Robinson is challenged by another immortal right there in broad daylight on the roof of the baseball stadium. The Challenger says to Carl "You have a problem with southpaws. As he draws his sword the challenger says, "I am a southpaw. Well apparently Carl doesn't have much of a problem with southpaws, because in less time that it takes to order a hot dog he takes the head of the challenger. Unfortunately some baseball fans witness the quickening and the challenger's body falling from the roof and landing somewhere near the on-deck circle. 2. Now Carl Robinson is on the Run once again, being sought by the police including Immortal detective Matthew McCormick. McCormick and Robinson have a history which reaches back to the days of slavery in the South. Long story short, Duncan convinces McCormick to help Robinson by staging a standoff with the police which results in Robinson's "death", but allows Robinson to get away and start a new life. I did not have much interest in the scenes which concern the baseball manager who has very low self-esteem, and I especially didn't like the way that Carl practically reveals himself as an immortal in an effort to help the baseball manager with his self esteem.
