Spikings really does need to rely on Dempsey's no nonsense cavalier ways in this one.

Spikings life is in danger, an attempt is made on his life on the tube when his briefcase is switched with one containing a bomb.

It is all linked with a police informant, however he remains quiet as his son is kidnapped. There is no doubt that someone high up is involved in corruption. They want Spikings and the informant out of the way.

A return to form after the previous episode being a disappointment. I am not sure about Dempsey's sexist put downs of Makepeace. It just gets annoying after a while.

It was fun to see the motorcycle chase and a harrowing finale where someone is buried in concrete.

The villains are real rotters, not only bombing a tube train, they even hit a dog on the head.

Solid episode

Solid episode that is quite tense in parts and features a great performance from Ray Smith as Spikings, who, in a nail biting scene, evades being bombed - well, only just. The plot is sharp, right and the motorcycle chase is an icing on the cake. Plus there's a neat twist at the end.
