The opening scene where Tim Cunningham's character is nervous about working as a janitor in a biology lab is the same script scene used from "Coach's Daughter", though they were both filmed at different times during production (i.e. Rhea Perlman is not pregnant in the earlier episode, where she is pregnant in Show Down: Part 2.) The same clip was shown again in the 200th Episode Special.
It won an Emmy Award for Outstanding Directing in a Comedy Series.
This is the last episode where John Ratzenberger is only in the end credits. Starting with the next episode he is finally credited.
Lois De Banzie (Lady #1), who is having difficulty choosing her drink, goes on to appear in Season Four of Cheers (1982) as a different character - a nun - who also shares a scene with Shelley Long (Diane).
