Norm at His Best
Hitchcoc28 August 2019
Norm is one of those guys of unrealized potential. He is smart and talented but really would rather just drink beer. He is asked to paint the Crane apartment and in the process reveals a great talent for interior design. He replaces a top decorator who is a great caricature. The Cranes are so impressed that they refer him to a yuppie couple. His physical appearance and lack of "gayness" get in the way, so the charade begins. Cliff is also the center of attention as people begin to speculate about his brain. Rebecca begins to obsess about her weight. This whole thing is so very funny.

Norm, Is That You? (#7.6)

Warning: Spoilers
Norm paints Lilith and Frasier's home and gives them some decorating advice which they love and get them to decorate their home. They also have friends who love it and want to redecorate their house. But they want their decorator to be gay. For the job Norm pretends to be one. Only then he has to "come out of the closet".

What an awesome episode. Norm pretending to be gay was genius. The little hand thing he did when he first started to play this part was great. So was him saying that Carla is a transsexual. And him introducing them to Sam and the "btw,we are lovers" line and the reaction of Sam to it were perfect.

Bite Me I Love You

Warning: Spoilers
This episode, in my humble opinion, marks the beginning of the show's second Golden Age, which would last all the way to the end of Season Eight. (The first Golden Age was Seasons 3-5.)

The characters all seem to find their new grooves: Frasier and Lilith are the yuppie power couple, Norm becomes a Professional Mooch, Cliff is finally embracing his insanity, and Rebecca is enjoying the downtime between breakdowns. If I could pinpoint a moment when the writers had found their stride for the "new" Cheers it would be right here.

The episode is a classic sexuality farce in which Norm pretends to be gay to get work as an interior decorator. Rebecca's weight becomes the subject of jokes, and if anyone associated with the show knew how big she'd actually get they would surely have kept their mouths shut.

A classic episode with a ton of laughs. What's not to love?

KIM: Kiss, kiss...

LILITH: Yes, yes.
