- Cliff meets the woman of his dreams at the bar on Halloween night but is afraid of meeting her when he's not in costume, and Sam and Diane have their first non-romantic outing together after the breakup.
- Everyone at the bar is in costume, which means it's Halloween. Late arrival Cliff is dressed as Ponce de Leon, who is still going on about his trip to Florida. The gang get into an argument about Cliff and women, specifically that he never seems to have been on a date. Then, as Cliff is boring a bar patron about Florida, a woman dressed as Tinkerbell shows some interest in him. They have a good time that evening as Ponce and Tinkerbell, and decide to meet the following night as their real selves at the bar, which means that Cliff will be going on an actual date. Will Cliff actually go through with meeting the woman underneath the Tinkerbell façade? Meanwhile, Diane, with an extra ticket and no Frasier available, takes Sam to the Boston Pops with Frasier's blessing. Diane isn't nervous about being on a "date" with Sam until they're ready to go home.—Huggo
- It's Halloween night at Cheers, and almost everyone is in costume. Cliff has returned from a trip to Florida, and has come dressed as Ponce De Leon (the discoverer of the Fountain of Youth). Sitting down at the bar next to a woman dressed as Tinkerbell, Cliff is surprised that the woman knows exactly who he dressed at, and the two start a conversation regarding Florida.
Before the night ends, Cliff and the woman have shared several dances with the jukebox playing. When the bar closes for the night, Cliff and the woman realize they do not know who the other is due to their masks. The woman proposes they meet the next night at 8, minus their masks. Cliff eagerly accepts.
The next evening, Cliff shows up well-groomed and in a nice suit. While the others are impressed that Cliff is meeting the woman from the night before, Cliff begins to lose his nerve as the time gets closer to 8. Norm helps build Cliff's courage back up, and Cliff waits by the door...only after several hours, it's time for the bar to close, and the mystery woman has not shown up.
Dejected, Cliff sits down to the bar, wallowing in self-pity. Suddenly, the phone rings and someone asks for Ponce De Leon. Cliff takes the call, and is surprised when it is from the woman...who is calling from across the street, out of fear that he won't like her without her mask on! The idea that she was as nervous as he is quickly helps calm Cliff's fears.
The two meet a few minutes later, and after stuttering their names (hers is Sharon O'Hare), Sam starts up the jukebox, and helps start a new dance, unmasked.
