Don Juan Is Hell (#4.11)
ComedyFan201014 May 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Diane is taking a class on human sexuality and uses Sam as a case study for her project. She presents him as having a Don Juan syndrome and her professor is really impressed by the paper. After the class where she presents the case the class comes to the bar to meet Sam as he wanted. And Diane tries to make him feel better that her conclusion about him is not 100% true.

It was pretty funny. Actually Sam's character seems pretty tame when compared to the ones from today's shows. But yes he is very much a player guy as they want to portray him.

The stories about Cliff's squash and Woody learning sports trivia are alright. Not much in them but they also take little screen time.

Sam and Trevor
Hitchcoc19 August 2019
Diane is taking a class in human sexuality. She needs to write a paper, using an interesting subject. Of course, Sam offers his services. Even with a pseudonym, he rises to the fore, but Diane make him an ugly neanderthal. There are a few good moments. The subplot involves Woody facing off against Carla in a sports trivia contest.

Another key Sam and Diane episode
dgplatt-6012120 May 2024
This is the first episode to outright say that Sam's sexual appetites might be a full-on addiction. Fortunately, it still manages to be funny enough to avoid falling into Very Special Episode territory.

After writing her paper about "Trevor" ("Why not Duke?"), Diane realizes that her conclusions will hurt Sam. Of course, Sam thinks the paper is complementary until Diane spells it out for him.

The plot ends, as so many classic episodes do, with the pair hashing it out in Sam's office. It manages to be both serious (when Sam realizes what Diane meant) and funny (when Sam and Diane explore the erotic charms of their favourite musical genres)

The subplot is also funny, as Woody challenges Carla for sports trivia supremacy. It's nothing special, but Carla and the guys get off a few good lines.
