Just where is Gotham City located? Due to the many puns on New York City landmarks which appear in this series (the New Guernsey Turnpike, Spay Stadium, Short Island Sound, the Washington Tunnel. etc.), it's commonly believed that Gotham City IS New York City. Apparently not, as we discover in this episode: when the Joker's electric chairs fail to electrocute the Dynamic Duo, and the city below simultaneously goes dark, the Joker exclaims, "Gotham City must be having a power failure, just like New York!" However, there is a school of thought that Gotham City is actually Brooklyn (with Manhattan as the analog for Metropolis), in which case the puns would make sense.
