PASADENA -- Murder-mysteries were front and center as Court TV spotlighted two new shows Wednesday at the Television Critics Assn. press tour, including the network's first-ever original scripted series, 'Til Death Do Us Part, as well as a new show featuring several crime writers examining real-life cases. Death, which premieres in the third quarter, features director John Waters in the role of the "Groom Reaper", guiding viewers through true stories of marriages that end with one spouse murdering the other. Court TV chairman and CEO Henry Schleiff said during the session at the Ritz-Carlton Huntington Hotel that the show fits in with the network's strategy of telling about "serious subjects in entertaining ways" as Waters bring a sort of tongue-in-cheek "top spin" to his role.
