His House and “Lovecraft Country” star Wunmi Mosaku finds herself an outsider in upcoming crime mystery series “Passenger” that’s heading to BritBox this October. A brand new teaser trailer unveiled today highlights an unsettling atmosphere in the not-so-quaint, snowy town that’s haunted by crime.
The upcoming six-part series hails from creator Andrew Buchan, marking the actor’s screenwriting debut.
The series “explores a close-knit community who are unwilling to face their fears of change, of outsiders and of the unknown. Set in the fictional small Northern town of Chadder Vale, Former Met Police Detective Riya Ajunwa (Wunmi Mosaku) investigates a series of strange and inexplicable crimes that have the townsfolk spinning on an axis. Riya arrived in decaying Chadder Vale five years ago and has since been searching for that ‘one big crime’, the challenge that will make her feel alive again. Then one night local girl Katie Wells (Rowan Robinson) mysteriously disappears.

Paul Giamatti, Joely Richardson, Alessandro Nivola, Simon Russell Beale and Arty Froushan are joining the third “Downton Abbey” feature film. Giamatti, who recently scored an Oscar nomination playing an ornery teacher in “The Holdovers,” is reprising his role as Harold Levinson, the bother of Elizabeth McGovern’s Cora Grantham, a part he played in the TV show that spawned the film franchise.
No word yet on who Richardson, Nivola, Beale and Froushan will portray. Nor are there any details about the plot, but this being “Downton Abbey” you can expect silverware to be polished to a high gloss, tables set with military precision and a mad dash to find an adequate number of ladies maids to service all the guests for this or that soiree.
Richardson’s credits include “Nip/Tuck,” “101 Dalmatians” and “Red Sparrow.” Nivola recently starred in...

Shadow and Bone attracted attention even before its release on Netflix. It was awaited both by fans of the original source – Leigh Bardugo's novels, and by fantasy lovers who had not read the books. However, as is often the case with Netflix projects, Shadow and Bone was canceled after its second season.
If you still miss that magical fantasy atmosphere, then these series are definitely for you.
1. Carnival Row, 2019-2023
Centaurs, fairies, fauns, and other fairytale creatures have increased the population of the city of Burgue, but the people are not too happy about their new neighbors. The city even has a separate area called Carnival Row, where non-humans live. An unknown madman has started hunting magical creatures, killing them and leaving almost no evidence.
The investigation is taken over by a former military man, now Detective Philostrate, almost the only police officer who does not feel hatred and contempt for the magical inhabitants.

The aliens in Neill Blomkamp’s latest thriller must put their probing tools in hydrogen peroxide after pre-production for They Found Us shut down in Saudi Arabia. While the project starring Joel Kinnaman reworks its financial structure, hostility in the region is increasing as the Israel-Gaza crisis continues. While Neom is hundreds of miles from Gaza, the Israel-Hamas conflict could alter insurance figures and make traveling toward the reason dangerous.
Speaking with Deadline about the filming conditions for They Found Us, AGC Studios told the outlet, “We’ve taken the reluctant decision with our valued partners at Neom to pause pre-production on the film while we further explore a cross border legal and funding structure that makes all stakeholders comfortable. Movie franchises moving to the small screen tend to come with significant caveats, thanks to lower budgets.
Fortunately, no expense was spared in producing the Apple TV+ drama series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters, a new series based on Legendary's Monserverse.
The official trailer for the highly-anticipated project dropped during a New York Comic-Con panel for the series, and let's just say we're convinced.
The impressive cast includes Kurt Russell, Wyatt Russell, Anna Sawai, Kiersey Clemons, Ren Watabe, Mari Yamamoto, Anders Holm, Joe Tippett, and Elisa Lasowski.
That's a perfect cast who bring their A-game in the trailer, showcasing a very different world after the battle between Godzilla and the Titans.
With San Francisco pretty much obliterated in that battle, there's a desire for answers about why monsters have become so prominent.

The Wheel of Time is Prime Video’s attempt at making a sweeping epic fantasy adventure series and for the most part, they are pretty successful in making The Wheel of Time a brilliant series that is an honest interpretation of the source material. Cara Delevingne exploded onto the modeling scene in the early 2010s as one of the most sought-after names in fashion. As her modeling career took off, she also took up acting and has since appeared in a number of different films and TV shows over the years - including "Paper Towns," "Suicide Squad," "Her Smell," "Only Murders in the Building," and "Carnival Row."
Despite her celebrity status and fame, Delevingne is not very open about her personal life, including those she's romanced through the years. In the past, Delevingne has vaguely alluded to how she chooses her partners. "However one defines themselves, whether it's 'they' or 'he' or 'she,' I fall in love with the person - and that's that," she told Variety in 2020 of her pansexual identity. "I'm attracted to the person."

Sony‘s Gran Turismo is peeling away from the starting line with $1.4M in previews. The studio began previewing the game-related sports drama two weeks ago and has included the overall take on Friday’s total. Screenings turned key at 2 p.m. on Thursday at 3,156 markets, including Plf and IMAX theaters. Analysts say the Gran Turismo box office could race toward the top spot this weekend with $12M-$15M across 3,800 cinemas.
Gran Turismo’s road to release is a winding one. Sony decided at the end of July to move the feature’s wide release from August 11 to August 25. The strategy was to put distance between Gran Turismo and Barbenheimer, a lethal combination that’s dominated the box office for several weeks. Another reason for moving the film is the ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, which forbids stars from the film to participate in promotional events. In Los Angeles,...

A new teaser trailer for the twelfth season of American Horror Story has finally arrived, and with it, the leading lineup and its official title, American Horror Story: Delicate. The moody and dark footage scored to a cryptic version of the “Rock-a-Bye Baby” nursery rhyme showcases series veteran Emma Roberts and Kim Kardashian as headliners of the season alongside Carnival Row‘s Cara Delevingne. Footage shows a group of women in platinum blonde wigs and latex dancing in unison, only to reveal the leading ladies of the season dressed the same way. With images of a bassinet crib, a baby bird’s nest, and an egg falling from a tree, we can assume motherhood will play a significant role. Not to mention the mother of four, Kardashian, is seen holding a baby towards the end, dressed in the same latest and platinum hair as the dancers. According to the synopsis,...

The ongoing WGA and SAG-AFTRA labor strikes, claimed their first major fan expo victim in San Diego Comic-Con 2023. Last year, the annual geek fest was back in full swing post-covid with the party scene returning with numerous bashes around Comic-Con.
But this year, with Hollywood talent practically forbidden from even attending the event, many brands have pulled out along with big-name party cancellations. Brands who sponsor Comic-Con bashes want Hollywood film and tv stars on their step and repeats. No stars? No brands? No parties.
Comic-Con’s biggest bash via Entertainment Weekly cancelled due to the strikes. IMDb, decided not to go forward with their annual yacht party, but will have a presence this year regardless. The yacht will serve as a floating fan experience and will be docked at Fifth Avenue Landing, directly behind the San Diego Convention Center.
Comic-Con 2023 is going to look like the cons of yore before Hollywood arrived.
But this year, with Hollywood talent practically forbidden from even attending the event, many brands have pulled out along with big-name party cancellations. Brands who sponsor Comic-Con bashes want Hollywood film and tv stars on their step and repeats. No stars? No brands? No parties.

Exclusive: As the 57th edition of the Czech Republic’s Karlovy Vary International Film Festival (Kviff) kicks off Friday, there will be renewed interest in the central European country’s local industry, particularly the curious case surrounding its incentive program for international productions.
The Czech government suspended film production incentives in early 2022, citing strains on the public purse due to the cost of providing humanitarian and military aid to Ukraine. Officials said the pause would be temporary, but the country went almost a year without a set incentive plan, meaning no new projects could register to film in the country for months.
The incentive program is back at 20%, with a new 150 mil czk ($6.8 mil) cap per project. The setup means the Czech Republic now lags behind the 30% in neighboring Hungary and Poland. Both houses of the Czech parliament have approved the plans and officials are writing it into the country’s law.
