Great one for the kids!

Enchanting fairy tale stuff here! Not for everyone, but for the ones it is for, it's perfectly executed.

This movie's got it all: A fairy king, some cool magic, a precocious tyke at the center of it all, phantasmagorical nymphs, real and pertinent lessons, etc.

Ernest Borgnine brings some real levity to the project as well. Just seeing him made me smile. And most importantly (should've mentioned this earlier), I watched this with my seven year old nephew and he couldn't take his off the screen. I gotta tell ya, he's a tough kid to impress, and he was definitely impressed with this.

Budget? What budget?

Warning: Spoilers
THE BLUE LIGHT is an odd little kid's fantasy flick, made as a TV movie in 2004 and clocking in at just under fifty minutes in length. The story involves a video game-obsessed kid who is transported into a world of fairies and make believe in which the ethereal beings have the power to make wishes come true. Be warned, this is a very low budget production, which means it feels cheap and dated throughout, with often laughable costumes and characters. Ernest Borgnine is a hoot in support. This reminded me a lot of that 1980s camp classic TROLL and its sequel.
