AMC is doubling down on its expanding “Walking Dead” universe. The cable network announced Season 2 renewals for two of its zombie apocalypse spin-off series, including “The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon” ahead of its series premiere on Sept. 10.
“The Walking Dead: Dead City,” starring Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, will also return for a second season. That spin-off series premiered earlier this year and is set to air its Season 1 finale Sunday, July 23.
“This next chapter in the ‘Walking Dead’ Universe continues to thrive with a terrific inaugural season for ‘Dead City’ and highly anticipated new journey for fan-favorite character Daryl Dixon coming in September. We can’t wait to bring ‘Dead City’ fans back to the epicenter of Manhattan for more zip-lining action with Maggie and Negan. There are certain directors who could easily be a character in one of their own movies. Joe Carnahan is one of those filmmakers. “No Cover,” a new competitive series backed by production entity Hit Parader, is promising to deliver the “next great unsigned original artist.” To aid in the search, the televised show has recruited celebrity judges Alice Cooper, Bishop Briggs, Gavin Rossdale, Lzzy Hale and Tosin Abasi.
Differentiating itself from shows like ABC’s “American Idol” and NBC’s “The Voice” — which mainly focuses on a singer’s interpretations of preexisting hit songs — “No Cover” judges artists and bands performing entirely original music. Season one will be shot inside West Hollywood’s legendary Troubadour and on location at the Sunset Marquis Hotel.
The winning artist or band will secure a six-figure recording contract with Sumerian Records, booking agency representation from UTA, management from the Shelter Music Group, festival slots via Danny Wimmer Presents, studio time at Nightbird Recording Studios (housed inside the Sunset Marquis), new gear from Gibson, branding endorsements, licensing opportunities and more.

For games such as Apex Legends, which receive content updates and patches on a regular basis, exploits are somewhat expected. As is the nature of the development process, testing in a developer environment can only go so far to catch unintentional, potentially game-breaking bugs, and while this particular glitch isn’t that serious, it’s certainly noticeable.
As documented over on Reddit, user ZyroZen notes how, following a bout of server lag just after they activated Octane’s Stim ability, the animation became stuck, preventing the delivery system from disappearing when it should have. You can check it out via the link below.

Respawn Entertainment may have already shot down any hopes players had of Apex Legends getting more character reworks anytime soon, but that doesn’t it’s avoiding making changes altogether. As part of the battle royale’s upcoming Lost Treasures Collection event, in fact, the developer intends to deploy a huge number of adjustments for problem characters, paying particular attention to those currently considered to be underperforming.
Top of that list are Lifeline, Octane and Crypto. All three have struggled to keep pace with top-tier picks such as Gibraltar, Wraith and Wattson – a growing disparity that could finally be at an end if recently revealed patch notes prove to make as big of an impact on the metagame as promised. Achieving perfect balance is little more than a pipe dream, of course, but the following tweaks are sure to be a move in the right direction. Check them out for yourselves below.

Now that Apex Legends fans have had a few weeks to explore most of what Season 5 currently has to offer (there’s always more on the way), attentions have started pivoting towards the overall gameplay experience. As always, the metagame – particularly in reference to how well each Legend is generally performing – has come under scrutiny as of late, with players eagerly putting forward their own ideas for how Respawn can further level the playing field, so to speak.
The most popular suggestion by a country mile, it seems, is for the developer to continue rolling out complete character reworks as it did for Mirage with Fortune’s Favor. While he still lives up to his nickname, the Holographic Trickster now plays remarkably differently following his overhaul, thanks mainly to the replacement and/or improvement of his diversionary abilities.

Today marks the release of Season 5 of Apex Legends, and with the update comes a bevy of huge changes to characters, guns, and gameplay mechanics that you’re really going to want to familiarize yourself with before jumping into King’s Canyon again. Let’s take a look at some of the most notable changes you need to know about.
Of course, one of the most important new additions to the game is the newest legend, Loba, who we’ve been learning about via trailers over the past few weeks. This new character will be very focused on loot, with a passive that allows her to view loot through walls and an ultimate that lets her teleport those items to other teammates. She’ll also have the ability to use her Jump Drive bracelet to teleport herself around the battlefield and gain access to all this shiny loot. All in all,...

By and large, Respawn’s delivery of Apex Legends Season 4 has gone off without a hitch.
Following a truly excellent bait-and-switch marketing campaign that saw supposed new Legend Forge replaced with fan-favorite Revenant, hype for the battle royale’s fourth seasonal refresh has been off the charts. Having had a fortnight to acclimatise themselves to a majorly revamped World’s Edge map, rejigged ranked changes and, of course, a fresh metagame, however, players are beginning to notice the presence of a few cracks in an otherwise flawless update.
Currently, one of the hottest topics over on Apex‘s official subreddit is that concerning Revenant’s hitboxes. The term, for those unaware, refers to the surface area of each Legend which, when hit, registers incoming damage. Due to their size, characters such as Gibraltar and Caustic are ‘easier’ to hit as a result, a downside that ultimately resulted in Respawn giving...

Apex Legends players who consider adrenaline junkie Octane to be their main might want to start looking for a backup.
The character, first introduced way back in Season 1, has remained a top pick for many professional players due to his speed and a similarly themed toolkit that’s repeatedly seen him hover around the top spots of several tier lists. Recently, though, some fans have been reporting what’s obviously unintended behaviour affecting Octane’s efficiency on the battlefield. Frequent players of Respawn’s battle royale will know, all too well, how damaging bugs and glitches can be but thankfully, this particular peculiarity isn’t in danger of breaking the game; just Octane.
While the circumstances surrounding Octane’s new, let’s say, ‘ability’ aren’t immediately clear, it appears as if the user triggered the unintended behavior to occur when they attempted to use Octane’s Jump Pad ultimate ability inside a building.

The existing roster of playable characters in Apex Legends is destined to grow exponentially in the near future, it seems.
Since launch, the battle royale has received three – Octane, Wattson and Crypto – new arrivals, with Respawn so far having deployed one additional fighter every three months. Assuming that trend continues at its current pace, a further four newcomers will have joined the ranks by this time next year, and that’s barring any changes (for better or worse) in pace on the development side. While several surprises will assuredly make themselves known over the next 12 months, recent leaks have prematurely outed the (unfinal) appearance and names of several unreleased individuals. And the document in question outing their existence can be seen below.

Apex Legends will finally receive a frequently requested feature next week. Due to arrive on August 13th, fans of the battle royale will have access to a new solo queue mode as part of a brand new event. This is undoubtedly the occasion first teased by EA boss Andrew Wilson in an earlier earnings call and is scheduled to run for a two-week duration. For lone wolves, in particular, the news couldn’t have come sooner, but even team players will no doubt welcome the addition of new ways to play.
The caveat to this announcement, of course, is that Apex‘s long-awaited solo mode isn’t intended to be a permanent fixture, at least not yet. Come the conclusion of Respawn’s so-called Iron Crown Collection event, everything included with it will be bid a fond farewell, with only cosmetic skins and the like sticking around, should you unlock them.

Apex Legends Season 1 had a lot of issues, to say the least. Performance woes, rampant cheating and a laundry list of bugs consistently denied players from enjoying their time in Kings Canyon. But even when gameplay miraculously worked as intended, what else awaited them at the end of any given match but unrewarding progression? Respawn missed the mark with its initial round of cosmetic rewards for Wild Frontier, a shortfall it would make sure not to repeat again in the future.
The future is now, of course, what with Season 2: Battle Charge now live in-game across all platforms and while some issues still persist, its contents have been received in a vastly more positive light than what came before. Even prior to its arrival earlier this month, the first details revealed at E3 showcased several incredible character and weapon skins players would have the opportunity to unlock through play.

It was during that meteoric rise to prominence that Apex trumped Fortnite to become the most-watched video game on Twitch – the highest of honors in today’s streaming-dominated world – but new figures indicate that Apex‘s popularity is beginning to wane.

For all their similarities, Fortnite and Apex Legends offer up decidedly different gameplay experiences.
Sure, they’ve both found success in the battle royale arena, but it’s the little bells and whistles that help differentiate one shooter from the next. Take characters skins, for example. While developer Epic Games has added some truly weird and wacky skins to Fortnite over the past 12 months, Apex is much more muted in its design. And for very good reason.
As Twitch streamer TeosGame (h/t Dexerto) so rightly points out, Respawn Entertainment is somewhat limited in its skin designs, as there’s a gameplay element to consider before Legends can receive a new outfit.
Regarding Apex Legends skins… something I think a lot of people don’t take into consideration is that the Legends all need to be recognizable no matter the skin. You need to be able to identify who it is from afar.

Enough time has passed for us to pore over everything else Respawn has included with the bumper update, chief among them being new character Octane.

While he’s yet to be officially revealed by developer Respawn Entertainment, reports and leaks indicate that Octane will serve as Apex Legends‘ first new character and is set to release sometime in the near future.
Earlier this week, fans got a brief glimpse at Octane’s look and visual design, which appears to be inspired by the post-apocalyptic landscapes of Mad Max and Borderlands. And though his playstyle has yet to be revealed, early leaks show that his passive ability will allow gamers to slowly restore health over time, assuming they aren’t actively taking damage.
His tactical ability, meanwhile, allows Octane to move 30 percent faster for a brief period of time, with the trade-off being a small reduction in health. And for his ultimate ability, the character will be able to deploy a launch pad – not unlike those seen in Fortnite – which will allow squads to soar through...

Apex Legends developer Respawn Entertainment is on the cusp of kicking-off the battle royale title’s biggest week since launch if the latest round of leaks is to be believed. As reported earlier today, it’s looking increasingly likely that the game’s first Battle Pass is due to commence next week, included in it not just a wealth of new cosmetics, but a brand new character, too.
Octane, as he’s believed to be called, has been kicking up a storm of interest ever since hazy leaked images from within Respawn HQ outed his existence, but now, thanks to a source close to Daily eSports, we’re privy to the individual’s reported official artwork. Of course, we’re still none-the-wiser in regards to Octane’s unique skill set, though there’s been plenty of images purporting to reveal what he’ll add to Apex Legends‘ existing star cast.

Almost ever since it arrived, we’ve seen a metric ton of leaked data from the game of the moment, Apex Legends. Just like Fortnite before it, eager beavers have dug through every inch of the code and extracted as much as they possibly could. Already, we’ve seen evidence that Respawn are planning to introduce larger and smaller squad sizes, that new weapons are on the way and a hoverbike is thought to be in the works, too.
Now, we have even more to share, as data-miners have discovered that a new character may be arriving next month. As initially reported by Gaming Intel, files for someone named Octane have been discovered and apparently, he’ll be with us during Week 8, which would be at the end of March. Seeing as Respawn’s already told us we’ll be receiving one new Legend per season, it certainly makes sense...

New heroes, modes, and features may soon be coming to Apex Legends, according to these rumors.
Dataminers have seemingly uncovered quite a bit of information about some of Apex Legends' biggest upcoming updates. These discoveries come from various sources and follow the apparent reveal of Apex Legends' rumored solo and duo modes.
The biggest reveal of these latest discoveries is something called "Survival Mode." Based on information currently available, it sounds like this mode will see you play in front of a crowd of NPCs. It's not entirely clear what role they will play but early discoveries suggest that this Npc crowd will boo and cheer players based on their performance. It also sounds like there may be some kind of system where players are able to interact with (or even choose) NPCs and benefit from their presence in some way. On top of that, it's rumored...

Apex Legends Season 1 content begins with the release of the game's first Battle Pass.
The previously leaked and teased Octane will indeed be the next Apex Legends character according to an update on the PlayStation Blog.
While that's hardly a secret, the blog does hint at Octane's abilities. It seems that Octane's ultimate ability will grant him access to a launch pad that he and his teammates can use to gain a quick vertical advantage. He'll also be able to trade in health for additional speed while utilizing health regeneration stims to keep himself afloat. It's not clear whether any of those are his passive ability, but it is clear that Octane is designed to be a very aggressive character.
Respawn has also confirmed that Octane will cost 750 Apex Coins or 12000 character tokens, and will not be part of Apex Legends' upcoming Season 1 Battle Pass...

There’s no bigger name in competitive “Call of Duty” than OpTic Gaming, and over the last three years, no team has come close to matching the run of the Green Wall. Starting in April 2015, the OpTic roster of Seth “Scump” Abner, Ian “Crimsix” Porter, Matthew “FormaL” Piper, and Damon “Karma” Barlow won 18 major live tournaments, and capped it all off with the “Call of Duty” World League Championship during last year’s “Infinite Warfare” season.
But earlier this year, OpTic’s roster was falling apart. Every new season brings a fresh “Call of Duty” game to compete in, and this year’s was “WWII,” a return to the series’ classic boots-on-the-ground action. OpTic thrived during a run of more futuristic games, including the jetpack-aided “Infinite Warfare,” but their winning ways didn’t translate cleanly to the simpler historical battlegrounds of “WWII.”
As rival teams like Rise Nation, Team Kaliber,...

Star Wars Battlefront developer Dice has been making some rather substantial and extensive changes under the game’s hood for its February update and frankly, we’re not sure where to start – the list is freaking massive.
Before we start dissecting all of the little, large and much-needed changes though, you’re probably more interested in the new content that’s been added with the patch.
First up is the new Twilight on Hoth map that’s been added to several modes, including Walker Assault, Drop Zone and Heroes vs. Villains. Judging by the map name, expect to be battling it out as the Rebels or Empire in the freezing midnight blizzard that sweeps through the snow-covered planet when the sun (or is it suns?) sets.

Supermodel Naomi Campbell had to be separated from actress Bijou Phillips by Sean 'P. Diddy' Combs when the two starlets clashed at Paris fashion week. The American wildchild accused the British clotheshorse of trying to chat up Bijou's fiancé, Sean Lennon, while the actress was away in Europe filming Octane with Norman Reedus and Madeleine Stowe. Bijou reportedly "accidentally" slammed in the leggy Londoner at P. Diddy's fashion bash at Plaza Athenee last Tuesday. After Bijou jostled her, Naomi threatened the actress, shrieking, "I'm gonna knock you out, Bijou." An eyewitness says, "Bijou jumped up ready to fight but friends intervened before they had a chance to really go at it." Combs played go-between and helped the two to make peace after pulling them aside and having a talk.
