Academy Award nominee and lifelong horror fan Paul Giamatti is set to star in a key role for new “Hostel” TV series with Eli Roth returning, THR reports today.
It’s not just Roth returning, but franchise producers Chris Briggs and Mike Fleiss as well.
No plot details as of yet as the series is still in development. But it’s described as a “modern adaptation” and an “elevated thriller” that’s also a “reinvention” of the horror franchise that launched in 2006 and spawned two sequels.
Roth and Briggs will write the script, with the former set to direct. Roth, Briggs and Fleiss will all executive produce the series.
Giamatti will star in a key role, though character details are under wraps.

Hostel is coming to television.
Paul Giamatti has closed a deal to star in a Hostel TV series with the franchise’s Eli Roth, Chris Briggs and Mike Fleiss all returning for the project from Fifth Season, the studio behind Apple TV+’s Severance.
The Hostel show, which is currently in development and does not yet have a platform attached, is described as being a “modern adaptation” and an “elevated thriller” that’s also a “reinvention” of the horror franchise that launched in 2006 and spawned two sequels.
Roth and Briggs will pen the script, with the former set to direct. Roth, Briggs and Fleiss will all executive produce the series.
The original movie revolved around three backpackers who were headed to a Slovak city that promised to meet their hedonistic expectations, with no idea of the hell that awaited them.

10. Bedeviled (2016)
An idea of mixing together good old supernatural entities and modern mobile apps sounded good on paper — but the execution turned out disastrous. Bedeviled relied on its somewhat amusing premise too much to care about not incorporating every teen horror cliche you could think of, so no wonder only 20% of viewers liked it.
9. Cold Blood (2019)
A reclusive hitman finds an injured woman near his isolated house in the woods and risks everything to save her. Despite having Jean Reno as its lead actor, Cold Blood fails to create compelling characters or story and as a mystery thriller, it provides neither mystery nor thrills. Only 18% of viewers found this movie worthy of a positive review.

We all love a "fun" horror movie, right? I'm talking about horror that feels like the cinematic equivalent of a roller coaster — fast, exhilarating, scary, but ultimately harmless. You buy the ticket and take the ride. But one of the things I love about the horror genre is that it's so damn flexible. On one hand, you can have fun horror movies like I just mentioned. And then there's the complete opposite: horror movies that make you squirm. Horror movies designed to make your skin crawl. Bugs, monsters, blood, body horror — the type of stuff that makes you feel like you need to take a shower after watching it. Those are the types of horror movies we're highlighting here — gnarly stuff, gross stuff, stuff that's going to make you feel more than a little icky. Be warned: it's about to get disgusting up in here.

Even Eli Roth can’t believe that two-time Oscar winner Cate Blanchett was willing to learn to twirl guns and shoot baddies in “Borderlands,” the director’s gonzo adaptation of the popular video game.
Roth noted that since people loved seeing Blanchett wield a baton in “Tár,” where she portrayed a fictional world-famous conductor embroiled in controversy, the filmmaker said he might as well “put a flamethrower in her hand.”
In “Borderlands,” Blanchett sports a fiery red bob and is surrounded by the starry ensemble of Kevin Hart, Jamie Lee Curtis, Jack Black and “Barbie” breakout Ariana Greenblatt. The story follows Blanchett as Lilith, an infamous outlaw with a mysterious past. She reluctantly returns to her home planet of Pandora and forms an unexpected alliance to find the missing daughter of Atlas.

Directed by Mary Robertson and Emma Schwartz, Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV brought out the ugly side of kids’ television during the ’90s and ’00s to light. In the five-part docuseries, Drake Bell, who rose to prominence following the success of Nickelodeon’s Drake & Josh, shed light on his s-xual trauma, suffered at the hands of convicted s-x offender Brian Peck.
Bell also spoke at length about the actors who signed in support of Peck during the 2004 trial, which included Cabin Fever star Rider Strong. But with the actor finally moving past this traumatic experience, he took to X to share that he has made peace with the actor.

A spinoff of the film franchise, “Freddy’s Nightmares” was an anthology series starring the original Freddy Krueger, Robert Englund. Airing from 1988 to 1990, each episode told a different story of a dark rooted and grim nature that takes place in this fictitious town on Elm Street, and now a brand new book will take us deeper into the series than ever before.
Death Cult Press has announced Welcome to Primetime from authors Geoff Turner, Henrique Couto and David Denover, up for pre-order now ahead of April 1, 2024 release.
“This collection features breakdowns of each episode in the series, interviews with the show’s creators and a selected history of the bizarre world of horror anthology television.”
You can pre-order three different book bundles from Death Cult Press now.
“Freddy’s Nightmares” picked up with where the films left off, with Krueger terrorizing the citizens of his hometown and taking his revenge out through their dreams.

Quentin Tarantino is undoubtedly one of the most influential directors in Hollywood. There is one filmmaker who was influenced and guided by Tarantino and went on to become a prominent name in the horror genre. Eli Roth’s film, Restaurant Dogs, was a clear homage to the Tarantino film Reservoir Dogs. The duo later became good friends and collaborated on several projects over the years.
Quentin Tarantino found his perfect partner after watching Eli Roth’s Cabin Fever
Roth’s films had their fair share of acclaim and criticism, depending on the audience of the film. He was put on the horror genre map with his controversial film franchise, Hostel. He went on to make Knock Knock with Keanu Reeves, which some fans consider as Reeves’ most disgusting movie.

When director Michael Winner and screenwriter Wendell Mayes adapted Brian Garfield's novel "Death Wish," it's doubtful that they had any idea they'd be launching a film franchise that would change the landscape of vigilante thrillers forever, and solidify Charles Bronson as one of the greatest stars of action cinema. The "Death Wish" films start out as a twisted character study of a man named Paul Kersey as he slowly descends into a life of vengeance and violence, bearing arms and serving as a one-man judge, jury, and executioner. There's a real allure to righting wrongs outside of the American justice system, but as Kearsey's arc shows, his desire to kill has perhaps always been a part of him -- which makes him part of the problem.
As the franchise went on, the "Death Wish" films cared less and less about the moral conundrums of its hero and instead wanted...

‘Last Night at Terrace Lanes’ Review – Bowling Slasher Lands Somewhere Between Strike and Gutterball
In the pantheon of cool horror movie locations, the bowling alley is an overlooked gem. Unsurprisingly, the tendency to feature a disembodied body part being flung down the lane means that such films are frequently horror comedies.
Last Night at Terrace Lanes adopts a slasher approach (see: Gutterballs – or don’t), but maintains a humorous tone. The film, from director Jamie Nash and written by YA horror author Adam Cesare (working from a story by Jenna St. John), has a great logline: what if a killer cult attacked a bowling alley?
Sadly, the finished product struggles with its execution, leading to a decidedly mixed comedy slasher.
It’s the last night of business at Terrace Lanes, an aged bowling alley scheduled for demolition. Among the employees and the regulars bowling one last time, there’s Kennedy (Francesca Capaldi), a queer teen looking for some solo time with her crush Tess...

Looking back on the horror genre throughout time, there’s always been a period where certain sub-genres have been most prominent. The 70s and 80s were all about the slasher flicks, with masked villains marauding around sleepy suburbs or high school kids having their heads chopped off, while remakes such as House of Wax and Ring dominated the early noughties. There’s another sub-genre, however, that had its roots in splatter films such as Peter Jackson’s superbly gross Bad Taste and Braindead, plus ‘video nasties’ like 1978’s I Spit on Your Grave. That’s right folk, we’re talking about ‘Torture Porn’, an exploitation horror subgenre known for its nasty, gory, and violent films. Do a quick Google search for the sub-genre, preferably with safe-search activated if you’re at work or Uni, just in case, and you’ll more than likely find several Top 10 lists of the best...

The late 1990s and early 2000s were a weird era for films. There is definitely an influence from Y2K, and it seemed like there was an attitude that anything goes from some and a tightening of the belt from others. The world was in an odd place, and this influenced everything in culture like music, television, and films. 2002 gave us a wide variety of horror, like Queen of the Damned, Fear Dot Com, Cabin Fever, Bubba Ho-Tep, Dog Soldiers, and Bloody Mallory. This was the end of an era and the start of another for David Arquette it seemed. A time when he tested the “leading man” waters. Unfortunately, it didn’t quite go as planned as box office bomb after box office bomb came. Films like Ravenous, Ready to Rumble, 3000 Miles to Graceland, See Spot Run, and The Grey Zone all featured Arquette in some form but...

By the time Halloween wraps up, most people have tucked away their pumpkins and spider webs in favour of colourful wreaths and Santa figurines. For horror fans, it means Krampus and blood covered snow now take centre stage. The holiday of Christmas naturally lends itself to the horror genre, spawning favourites that include Black Christmas, Silent Night, Deadly Night, Rare Exports, and more. However, many films are too gruesome for younger people to enjoy.
To let children in on the festive and frightful fun, here is a variety of age-appropriate Christmas horror film and television specials the entire family can enjoy.

The alien invasion comedy Hillbillies vs. Alien Chickens has taken home the top prize in this year’s Horror2Comic Contest.
The script from Nicholas Tana is described as a twist on the alien invasion genre, and centers on a vegan hillbilly who must team with a government agent to combat invading alien chickens.
Winning scripts in the Horror2Comic contest are made into comic books, and in turn are put into development as a feature or a TV show via Motor Content, the company whose credits include History’s Knightfall and the Michael Keaton feature The Founder. Not many horror films truly scare me these days. But alien horror? Even the ones substandard to most send me into a fear frenzy. That’s why I’m taking a deep dive into the sub-genre.
Welcome to Aliens Scare Me. A look into alien horror films on a case by case basis.

A group of friends head out into the country for the weekend to stay at a cabin in the woods (because that always goes so well) in an area recently dealing with mysterious circumstances such as missing persons and cattle mutilation. While drunk and arguing, they witness a UFO crash nearby. Upon investigating, they notice footprints leading right back to their cabin. With Christmas just around the corner, almost like clockwork, a flurry of related animated movies and specials are getting released, and the Diary of a Wimpy Kid franchise is the latest one to follow suit. Based on the bestselling book series of the same name written by Jeff Kinney, the Diary of a Wimpy Kid animated movie series follows the misadventures of middle-schooler Greg Heffley and his simpleton, good-natured friend Rowley Jefferson. Narrative wise, the third entry in the animated movie trilogy, Cabin Fever, is definitely an improvement over the second entry, Rodrick Rules, and that’s primarily because of the festive charm captured through family dynamics. However, the trademark wit imbued in the source material through Jeff Kinney’s characterization was majorly missing in the movie, which was somewhat balanced out by the heart and an alternate, comparatively better ending than the book. Although the black-and-white line art animation...

Eli Roth made his return to rated “R” horror with the slasher movie Thanksgiving last month, and we learned last week that Roth will return to direct Thanksgiving 2 in 2025.
This year’s holiday slasher is of course a feature length expansion of Roth’s popular faux trailer from Grindhouse (2007), and it seems it’s reignited his passion for his past work.
Speaking with CinePop for a new interview that ran this week (watch the video below), Eli Roth reveals that he’s hungry to return to the worlds of both Hostel and Cabin Fever!
“Hostel there’s a lot more to do. I’d love to go back to Hostel at some point. And Cabin Fever as well,” Roth tells the outlet. “They’re a part of me. They’re like my children.”

Eli Roth just kicked off a new horror franchise with his slasher movie Thanksgiving (read our review Here), as it was recently announced that Thanksgiving 2 is on track for a 2025 release. But while Roth is currently focused on holiday slashing, two franchises he previously created – the Hostel and Cabin Fever franchises – came up while he was sitting down for an interview with CinePOP. And during this interview, he said he hopes to revisit and revive those franchises someday!

To say that Eli Roth has had an incredibly successful career would be pretty accurate, but that doesn’t mean everything has worked. Remember that ‘Clock’ kids film with Cate Blanchett? Exactly. And it seems like his “Borderlands” film was basically ripped away from him. But with those setbacks, he returned in a big way with “Thanksgiving,” going back to his horror roots.

Director Eli Roth is returning for seconds of “Thanksgiving.” He’s cooking up a sequel to his holiday-themed slasher film, with the follow-up set to open theatrically in 2025. It’s unclear which — if any — any cast members will be back.
“Beeaking News! John Carver will kill again!” the director captioned a video on Instagram, referring to the film’s villain. “Thank you everyone who supported Original Horror in theaters!!! Go see it now on the big screen while it’s in cinemas, sequel set for release in 2025! Taking a year to really get the script right, working on it starting today!”

Filmmaker and screenwriter Eli Roth is fast-rising on the list of great directors in the horror genre. Roth has earned a reputation for his love for working on splatter films. More than half of his film projects are closely related to horror. However, his love for the horror genre goes beyond helming these splatter films as its director. Eli Roth has also written and co-written the screenplays or provided the story for most of his directed films. Here are Eli Roth’s top 6 screenplays. Cabin Fever (2002) Cabin Fever (2002) was Eli Roth’s directorial debut and his first screenplay for...

Thanksgiving might be over, but the scrumptious scent of Eli Roth’s “Thanksgiving” still lingers over the holiday horror season.
The director’s murderous pilgrim slasher — set in Plymouth, Massachusetts the year after a violent Black Friday trampling leaves three dead on the floor of a department store and puts a masked killer on the path to revenge — invaded our real-world theaters on November 17. It’s doing well with critics and audiences alike, who have been gorging on its themed gore and delighting in its snappy satire and inventive use of corncob holders as a victorious reunion for the “Cabin Fever” director and the horror genre.
Slasher fans have quickly accepted the rampage of the mysterious “John Carver” as a success by all important metrics (it’s doing well at the box office and on Rotten Tomatoes), but the villain’s Thanksgiving-timed arrival in theaters has been a longtime coming for Roth.

Thanksgiving came early this year for Eli Roth after his new holiday slasher film, Thanksgiving, arrived in cinemas to some of the best reviews of the filmmaker’s career. Well-regarded for groundbreaking 2000s horror films like Cabin Fever (2002) and Hostel (2005), Roth has been trying to make Thanksgiving for nearly as long. Originally conceived as a “joke” trailer to be inserted between Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’s Grindhouse double feature in 2007, Thanksgiving has been an idea that never left Roth or his childhood friend Jeff Rendell, the latter of whom co-wrote both the Grindhouse trailer and the actual 2023 slasher that is making a bloody splash today.
When we spoke to Roth about Thanksgiving, we chatted about his and Rendell’s affection for the curious subgenre of holiday-themed slasher movies released in the 1970s and ‘80s, as well as how the director finally figured out the best way to spread the...

For a holiday slasher that took 16 years to officially get off the ground, Eli Roth's "Thanksgiving" may wind up having perfect timing (read /Film's glowing review here). Based on the faux trailer sandwiched in between Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's 2007 double-bill exploitation experiment, "Grindhouse," audiences that were perplexed back then may be ready to embrace a gory, fully self-aware whodunnit with an axe-wielding killer pilgrim as its centerpiece.
Like a perfectly cooked turducken, "Thanksgiving" is a horror movie, a murder mystery, and a teen dramedy all rolled into one. Set in Plymouth, Massachusetts (where else?), it's also a mostly funny send-up of corporate greed and so-called "Massholes" who don't take too kindly to being picked off one by one in increasingly gruesome fashions. (One almost expects cameos from Boston brats Sully (Jimmy Fallon) and Zazu (Rachel Dratch) during the opening scene depicting a calamitous Black Friday riot.)

In honor of Thanksgiving now playing in theaters, I decided to take a look at the filmography of Eli Roth. After spending a few days watching films like Cabin Fever, Hostel and The Green Inferno, I cried in the shower for about twenty minutes and am vegan now!
In no particular order, here are the most gnarly moments of Roth’s fun career in horror…
“I’m Never Gonna Shave Again” – Cabin Fever (2002)
Without a doubt my favorite Eli Roth film and in my opinion one of the most underrated horror comedies of all time, Cabin Fever features tons of laughs and gross-out scares. One in particular that is hard to forget. Specifically, for those who shave their legs.
After Sweet Lou (the always memorable Joey Kern) decides to reasonably say “To hell with all of you since you Won’T Stop Touching The Bleeding And Infected People” and storm...

Back in 2007, Quentin Tarantino rounded up some pals for a release called Grindhouse, intended to re-create the experience of going to a drive-in for a schlocky double feature, complete with jingles for the snack bar and fake trailers for other movies. Funny thing about the way that turned out.
The Grindhouse package did fairly well at the box office but the trailers eventually outstripped its performance by a wide margin. Robert Rodriguez’s Machete clip turned into two wildly successful comedic gore-fests, with a third on the way, and boosting Danny Trejo into the stratosphere of celebrity status. Hobo With A Shotgun became a cultish outing for Rutger Hauer. Two other trailers stayed as such – Edgar Wright’s Don’T and Rob Zombie’s Werewolf Women Of The S.S. It’s nearly time, horror fans! After more than 16 years of anticipation, Eli Roth’s Thanksgiving is set to debut in theaters this weekend, based on his memorable trailer entry that was first featured in Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino’s Grindhouse double feature back in 2007.
At a recent press day for Thanksgiving, Roth discussed the pressure he felt once he and writer/longtime collaborator Jeff Rendell set out to finally make the feature film version of this idea and how they approached the story and feel of the film. Eli also chatted about how Thanksgiving examines some of the darker elements of the November holiday, working with his cast, and more.

Eli Roth is back. And he’s here for “Thanksgiving.”
For the past decade, Roth has nimbly moved through different genres – erotic thriller (“Knock Knock”), revenge movie (“Death Wish”), family fantasy (“The House with a Clock in Its Walls”), nature documentary (“Fin”) and big budget video game adaptation (next year’s “Borderlands”). But now he’s back with a down-and-dirty horror movie, this time centered around one of the happiest time of year.
In “Thanksgiving,” adapted from a fake trailer that Roth had made for Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino’s “Grindhouse” project, a superstore’s super sale leads to tragedy. A year later a masked man in a pilgrim costume, known as John Carver, starts taking out the townspeople involved in the tragedy, one by one. And, yes, the kills are just as creative and stomach-churning as you’d expect from the man behind “Hostel,” “Cabin Fever” and “The Green Inferno.

It’s time for another episode of the Wtf Happened to This Horror Movie? video series, and with this one we’re preparing for director Eli Roth’s long-awaited slasher Thanksgiving – which reaches theatres this Friday, November 17th – by looking back at his 2002 feature debut Cabin Fever (watch it Here). To hear all about it, check out the video embedded above.
Directed by Roth from a screenplay he wrote with Randy Pearlstein, Cabin Fever has the following synopsis: Bert, a college student vacationing with friends in the mountains, mistakenly shoots a local man with a skin infection while hunting in the woods. Panicking, he abandons the scene and leaves the man for dead. When the man stumbles into a reservoir, he infects the water supply, and soon one of Bert’s friends becomes infected. The friends struggle to stop the contagious, flesh-eating disease while on the run from a group...

Based on his fake trailer from the Grindhouse Double Feature (2007), Eli Roth’s Thanksgiving is finally a full-feature movie, and it’s arriving in theaters this Friday, November 17.
In Thanksgiving, “After a Black Friday riot ends in tragedy, a mysterious Thanksgiving-inspired killer terrorizes Plymouth, Massachusetts – the birthplace of the infamous holiday.”
Bloody Disgusting spoke with Roth, who wrote the script with Jeff Rendell, about his gory slasher and how it’s evolved since its faux trailer origins.
Roth tells us about how the original concept that began it all started with his childhood and a noticeable void in the slasher space.
“The original concept of Thanksgiving came from Jeff Rendell, my best friend, and I growing up in Massachusetts watching every holiday slasher film,” Roth explains. “In Massachusetts, Thanksgiving is the biggest deal. There’s the parade. There are school plays. There are two Pilgrim recreation villages you go to where they’re like,...

This Thanksgiving, there will be no leftover victims.
Eli Roth’s long-awaited “Thanksgiving” is a holiday-set slasher, with a masked pilgrim terrorizing the residents of Plymouth, Massachusetts years after a Black Friday riot ended in tragedy.
Patrick Dempsey stars as the local police officer investigating the slew of killings, including a woman being baked alive in an oven. Addison Rae, Gina Gershon, Milo Manheim, Jalen Thomas Brooks, Nell Verlaque, and Rick Hoffman also star.
“Thanksgiving” is co-written and directed by Roth, who previously created a mock trailer for the film to lead into Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez’s “Grindhouse” in 2007. Roth told Collider that there were “rights issues” for the film, as well as pressure to get the tone right.
“For years, I was just connecting the dots between the trailer, and then I was like, ‘Am I just filming the scenes in between what I already did before it?...

Filmmaker Eli Roth exploded onto the horror scene in 2002 with the ultra-gory, deliberately shocking virus movie "Cabin Fever," a film so goopy and gross, it all but assured Roth a place in the contemporary horror canon of rising filmmakers. His snarky, shock-for-shock's-sake fratboy mentality fit perfectly in with the "extreme" edgelord attitudes of the early '00s. Indeed, some might say that it was Roth's films that helped define the era's impish, adolescent propensity toward provocation. The director certainly cemented his legacy as one of the key figures in the post-9/11 "torture porn" subgenre with his two "Hostel" movies in 2005 and 2007. He pushed his legacy further in 2013 with the release of "The Green Inferno," an homage to extreme 1980s Italian cannibal movies like "Cannibal Holocaust." Roth was a "bad boy."
In 2007, Roth made a jokey trailer for a fake slasher movie called "Thanksgiving," a trailer included in the Robert Rodriguez/Quentin Tarantino double feature "Grindhouse.

Every major holiday could stand to have a slasher movie themed around it, especially one with a sunny disposition masquerading the grim truth behind it like Thanksgiving. Such was Eli Roth's thinking when he made his fake "Thanksgiving" movie trailer for Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's "Grindhouse" experiment back in 2007. Roth's original short is a collection of scenes of people getting brutally decapitated over the Thanksgiving holiday frame by a serial killer dressed as a Pilgrim. It's grotesque, juvenile, and tasteless. In other words, it's everything you either love or hate about Eli Roth's horror work in general.
16 years later, Roth has finally gone and turned "Thanksgiving" into a full-fledged film, just like the fake "Grindhouse" trailers turned actual films "Machete" and "Hobo with a Shotgun" before it. Roth's slasher also marks his return to the realm of hard R-rated genre fare after his brief detour into...

"I wrote that movie when I was 22 and when I wrote it, everyone told me, 'This will never get made, that is a piece of s*** and this is a terrible script,'" Eli Roth said to Collider in 2015 of his debut feature film "Cabin Fever." Yet here we are, a full 20 years after the movie was released in the fall of 2003. Not only did the movie become a hit in its own right, but it spawned several sequels and even a remake in 2016. "Now I can say the script that everyone hated I can say was so good they made it twice [Laughs]," Roth quipped in the same interview.
Roth has reason to be a little bit smug about the whole thing.

For an experiment that fell flat on its face at the box office, "Grindhouse" has left a remarkably large cultural footprint. Not only has Quentin Tarantino's half of his and Robert Rodriguez's 2007 double-feature, "Death Proof," gained greater appreciation, but also several of the fake trailers included in screenings of the duo's exploitation genre love letter have since taken on a life of their very own. Rodriguez's "Machete" trailer has birthed not one but two films, while the "Hobo with a Shotgun" trailer (a fan-made promo that mostly screened with "Grindhouse" in Canada) similarly gave rise to an actual film titled *checks notes* "Hobo with a Shotgun."
After more than 15 years of promising to turn his own "Grindhouse" faux promo, "Thanksgiving," into the real deal, writer/director Eli Roth has finally gone and done just that. The original trailer, for those unfamiliar, centers on a serial killer who...

John Rosman's "New Life" is a blistering multidimensional thriller that hits from all directions — the kind of debut filmmakers dream about. It messes with you psychologically, stokes existential dread, and drips with bodily liquids worth repulsive physical effects. Where some first features hinge on a sole signature that pulls audiences through less accomplished elements, "New Life" exposes few weaknesses. Rossman creates a small-scale apocalypse movie that becomes achingly intimate despite the threat of worldwide eradication, weighing the disease of one against the infection of many in ways unexplored by notable comparison points like Danny Boyle's "28 Days Later" or the Pastor brothers' "Carriers."

Four and a half years ago, Lionsgate – a studio that had once been a prominent force in the horror genre, with releases like The Devil’s Rejects, Cabin Fever, the Hostel films, and of course the Saw franchise – announced that they were developing a genre project called Cobweb with the intention of taking back their “ownership” of horror. We’re now just one week away from having the chance to see the finished film, as Cobweb will be receiving a theatrical release on July 21st… and now a clip from the movie has arrived online, offering a preview of an awkward house visit scene. You can check it out in the embed above.
Directed by Samuel Bodin, who created Netflix’s short-lived French horror series Marianne, from a screenplay by Chris Thomas Devlin (Leatherface), Cobweb has the following synopsis: Eight-year-old Peter is plagued by a mysterious, constant tap, tap from inside...

Genre regular Eli Roth has another horror project coming our way – but this one won’t be nearly as brutal or bloody as the likes of Cabin Fever or Hostel. Instead, it’s some “gateway horror” entertainment that comes in the form of an animated series called Fright Krewe. Said to be aimed at “older children”, the first season of Fright Krewe will consist of ten episodes that will be released through both the Hulu and Peacock streaming services. A premiere date has not yet been announced.
The Wrap reports that Roth has teamed up with Dreamworks and author James Frey to bring this series to the screen – and they also point out that Frey is a rather controversial figure. His books A Million Little Pieces and My Friend Leonard were initially marketed as memoirs, but it was soon revealed that large portions of them were either exaggerated or made up.

Horror director Eli Roth is entering the world of children’s programming with DreamWorks’ “Fright Krewe.” The upcoming series comes from Roth and controversial author James Frey, who wrote “A Million Little Pieces.”
The 10-episode arc is DreamWorks’ first horror series for older children. Saving the world might be easier than becoming friends.”
The 2D series will have 10 episodes in its first season and will premiere on Hulu and Peacock.
