Comedian Katt Williams has racked up a long list of accomplishments, from breaking records to winning Emmys. Very recently, he received another accolade by having an entire Holiday named after him, which is a feat only few can claim.

According to Cincinnati, April 27th will now be recognized as Katt Williams day. The city’s vice mayor Jan-Michele Lemon Kearny honored Williams with his own Holiday after meeting the comedian personally. The announcement was made Saturday night backstage at the Heritage Bank Center, where he stopped at during his Dark Matter tour. It was noted that Williams received the honor because of his contributions to comedy and his strong connections with Ohio.
Cincinnati was a frequent stop for Williams whenever he was on tour. He was born and bred in Ohio, although spent most of his formative years in Dayton.

Actor and rapper Ice Cube went in a fresh direction with his third Friday movie, After Next. It was the first holiday-themed Friday film, which was an inspired decision on Ice Cube’s part.

The Friday franchise was a more lighthearted departure from the usual ‘hood’ movies Ice Cube was familiar with. In an interview with CNN, he shared that one of his main motivations for penning Friday was to offer a different perspective on his roots.
“I knew things were bad in my neighborhood, but I didn’t feel like these movies feel at the end … When I was growing up, I didn’t feel this depressed,” he said.
Friday After Next would continue the humor that the franchise was mostly known for. But unlike the other two Friday features, the second sequel would revolve around Christmas.

Actor Terry Crews is best known for the portrayal of Terry Jeffords in the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. While the sitcom made Crews a household name, the actor initially struggled to carve a name for himself in Hollywood, having made his film debut in 2000. One of Crews’ earliest roles was in Denzel Washington’s 2001 crime thriller film Training Day.

While the film earned Washington an Academy Award for Best Actor, it also gave Crews a start in Hollywood. In a recent interview, Crews spoke about getting paid next to nothing for his role in the movie. However, the actor revealed how the film helped him further his career and he remained grateful for the experience. Here is what Terry Crews said about his early struggles in Hollywood.

Terry Crews Reveals He Was Paid “Nothing” For ‘Training Day’ But “Heart Is Always Full of Gratitude”
Terry Crews is careful not to correlate his personal gratitude with financial compensation. The actor and TV host revealed this week he didn’t receive payment for his role in Training Day but emphasized that the lack of a check has never affected his love for a project.
“I have never ever, ever looked at whatever money I got as a horror story,” Crews said during an appearance on Club Shay Shay. “You can’t nod yes and mean no.”
Crews went on to say he was only paid $4,000 for his role in 2002’s Friday After Next and that he received “nothing” for 2001’s Training Day. The two films eventually put Crews on the path to becoming the movie star he is today.
“I didn’t get zero [for Training Day], but it changed my life forever,” Crews said. “You wouldn’t know who I was if it weren’t for a no-paying job.

Comedian Katt Williams didn’t consider himself just an acquaintance to Brooklyn Nine-Nine star Terry Crews. He felt they were close pals. Which was why Williams felt a bit of guilt not reaching out to Crews during a very trying time.

Williams and Crews first worked alongside each other on the Ice Cube movie Friday After Next. Afterwards, both of their careers seemed to go in separate but successful directions. Williams quickly shot to fame as a comedian, and Crews became a successful actor in his own right, appearing in a variety of projects.
In 2017, Crews confided that he was sexually assaulted by a high-power Hollywood agent years ago. Crews’ admission at the time generated a lot of discussion, especially since it was during the peak of the Metoo movement.

Everyone is still talking about Katt Williams’ interview on Shannon Sharpe’s “Club Shay Shay” podcast, including Saturday Night Live.
The NBC sketch show poked fun at the interview, providing an eight-hour “extended cut” with Ego Nwodim posing as the comedian.
“Three things are true about me. I am 5’3, I have never told a lie, and I am 6’3,” she (as Williams) tells Devon Walker’s Sharpe.
Giving a nod to Williams’ ongoing feud with Kevin Hart, which he reignited during the real podcast interview, Nwodim joked: “Look, Hollywood made Kevin Hart. Everyone knows Kevin Hart was made in the same factory where they make Teddy Grahams.”
Pushing back on skepticism from Walker, she questioned, “Then why the hell he smell like cinnamon?”
Nwodim’s version of Williams also took a swing at former President Obama, wondering why his name has “all vowels in it,” and insisting he wrote Obama’s slogan “Yes We Can.

Terry Crews is one of the hardest working men on network television – most notably his hosting duties on America’s Got Talent and its various spinoffs on NBC. He’s established himself as a comedic force in movies such as Friday After Next, and in the beloved sitcom Everybody Hates Chris, which is poised to turn 20 years old in 2025. He’s also known for his role as Terry Jeffords on Brooklyn Nine-Nine alongside Andre Braugher, who sadly passed away on December 11. The loss of his dear friend impacted him greatly. “Man, what you’ve gotta understand is that Andre Braugher, he’s like my big brother,” Crews told TV Insider. “That was one of the most hard-hitting pieces of news that I’ve ever gotten in my entire life.” Although the series ended in 2021, Crews still held out for a reunion special. “I was always hoping we could do a movie,...

Listening to three hours of Katt Williams can’t be easy, but some sound bites from a recent interview have made the waves, triggering a response from his targets, including Ice Cube, Kevin Hart and Cedric the Entertainer.
In Katt Williams’ viral interview on the Club Shay Shay podcast, the comedian targeted the aforementioned comedians with various claims. The most damning is that Williams maintains that his Friday After Next character, Money Mike (a pimp…), was originally supposed to be raped, which he insisted on cutting. Ice Cube, who produced, wrote and starred in the movie, had a different recollection, saying Williams didn’t have as much influence as he remembered. “We do what we feel…and if it was a rape scene it woulda been in the movie. There was no reason not to shoot it. But that’s not my style. I don’t even like that kind of sh*t in movies.

In a nine-minute video posted to social media, Ice Cube has responded to Katt Williams’ viral Club Shay Shay YouTube show interview, in which he attacked Kevin Hart, Cedric the Entertainer, and discussed a potential bathroom rape scene in the Ice Cube film, Friday After Next, among other topics.
Hart has already responded, calling the Williams comments “sad,” but using the moment to tout his upcoming Netflix film.
Ice Cube, whose film Friday After Next had Williams in it, today tried to address the Club Shay Shay comments.
“It’s been over 20 years since the movie came out, and people have different perspectives,” Ice Cube began in the video about Friday After Next.
Ice Cube went on to say that he wanted to clarify a few things. Chief among them was that he would film a rape scene after Williams said that he had pushed for the removal of a sexual assault clip.

Ice Cube is responding to comments made by comedian, writer and actor Katt Williams about the pay, casting and an alleged rape scene in the Friday franchise.
The rapper and producer took to X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, on Friday to address several statements made during Williams’ recent interview on former NFL star Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast. In a nine-minute video, Ice Cube said he had “a lot of love for Katt,” who “spoke up for me a lot,” but he “wanted to be clear to clarify some things.”
That includes denying he would film a rape scene after Williams told Sharpe that he had pushed for the removal of a sexual assault sequence from Friday After Next. “I would never shoot a rape scene in a movie, especially Friday, where you actually see this happening on camera. That ain’t my style,” Ice Cube said.

During the spring of 2023, comedian and actor Rickey Smiley appeared on Pro Football Hall of Famer Shannon Sharpe's show "Club Shay Shay" to talk about his career, and shocked comedy film fans everywhere when he claimed that he was originally cast as the pimp Money Mike in the final film of the "Friday" trilogy, "Friday After Next." The film was his feature acting debut, but Smiley would eventually play the role of the robber Santa Claus with Katt Williams portraying Money Mike. Williams had been an established comic since the 1990s, but "Friday After Next" was his breakthrough acting role that helped put him on the map before "Wild 'n Out" made him a household name.

Katt Williams’ recent interview on Shannon Sharpe’s “Club Shay Shay” podcast has gone viral for a handful of soundbites and revelations made by the comedian. Williams made his film debut playing Money Mike in the 2002 comedy “Friday After Next,” which he revealed originally included a sexual assault scene that he refused to participate in (via BuzzFeed). Williams pushed the studio to get the scene removed from the movie because “rape is never funny.” The comedian succeeded.
The scene in question centers on a confrontation between Money Mike and Terry Crews’ ex-convict Damon. The Hangover star Mike Epps was stopped by airport police after a loaded gun was found in his possession.
Federal agents confiscated a loaded gun found in the hand luggage of the actor and comedian, who was trying to board a flight at Indianapolis International Airport, airport police said.
On Sunday (5 March) morning, Transportation Security Administration officers discovered a Smith & Wesson .38-caliber pistol inside Epps’s backpack, according to airport police.
The firearm was loaded with four rounds of Hornady .38 Special ammo, but none was under the firing pin, the police report said.
Epps, 52, told agents at the Tsa checkpoint that he had forgotten he had the weapon in his bag.
Agents seized the weapon but did not arrest Epps. Airport officials did not say where Epps was flying to or if he was travelling alone. The Tsa forwarded the case to the Marion County prosecutor’s office to consider if charges are necessary.

It’s been two decades since the last Friday movie–but the reason we haven’t seen a fourth entry isn’t because Ice Cube is out of ideas. As it turns out, Warner Bros. has a stranglehold on the property and so Ice Cube has had to say “Bye, Felicia!” to the rights.
Ice Cube, who served as actor, writer and producer on 1995’s Friday, 2000’s Next Friday and 2002’s Friday After Next, recently appeared on the “Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson” podcast to discuss the franchise and the studio snags.
On Warner Bros., Ice Cube said, “I don’t know what they’re doing. They don’t know what they’re doing. We’d love to have it back. I think it’s going be close to a time when we get it back. So, we’ll either wait for that time, or we’ll keep trying to convince...

Ice Cube is getting heated with Warner Bros.
The N.W.A. rapper turned filmmaker slammed the production company for stalling two “Friday” sequels. Ice Cube wrote and starred in the original 1995 film and penned follow-ups “Next Friday” (2000) and “Friday After Next” (2002). A fourth film, “Last Friday,” was confirmed in 2020; however, more franchise installments are now on the back burner, according to Ice Cube.
“I don’t know. Warner Brothers is weird right now. I don’t know what they’re doing, they don’t know what they’re doing,” Ice Cube said during the “Hotboxin’ With Mike Tyson” podcast. “We’d love to have [the rights] back. It's difficult to think of a modern sitcom that is as unstoppable after its initial run as "The Office." As with any other franchise following, people have spent so much time with this series that they've grown attached to this ensemble. Steve Carell's Michael Scott will live on through the memes and that one relative, who you don't really talk to anymore, that still pulls out a "that's what she said" every once in a while, but this series will always owe a good chunk of its success to Jenna Fischer.
For better or worse, Fischer's chemistry with John Krasinski shot Jim and Pam into the pantheon of sitcom romances. "I'm looking for the Jim to my Pam" is practically a prerequisite for any uninspired dating profile.

Still one of Ice Cube's most recognisable screen works has been his "Friday" comedy franchise which began in 1995 and was last seen with 2002's third film "Friday After Next".
Recently Cube spoke with The Wrap and says many of the cast members of the previous films want to proceed with another one which distributor New Line Cinema has recently been considering:

As it happens every summer, the blockbuster season is filled with film franchises returning to theaters with a new installment. While some franchises testing the waters with sequels — 21 Jump Street and How to Train Your Dragon both released follow ups in June — The Expendables is stepping into trilogy territory. Later this summer, the film will debut its threequel in theaters. But the question is, will it push forward with a fourth (Transformers) or seventh (Fast and Furious), or just stick with three?
