"L'idée" is one of the first films to feature an electronic music score. It featured a score composed by Arthur Honegger, who used the Ondes Martenot, an early electronic instrument consisting of a keyboard that moved a ring along a wire, creating sounds similar to those of a theremin.
L'idee (1932) is the only fully surviving work made by Berthold Bartosch.
