Don Mancini, who has written every film in the Child’s Play / Chucky franchise (except the remake) and directed a few of them, developed the TV series Chucky with producer David Kirschner – and he has made it clear that he enjoys casting actors in multiple roles. For example, Devon Sawa has already played four different characters over the course of the TV show’s three seasons. Now Entertainment Weekly has learned that legendary filmmaker John Waters is the latest person to play two different roles in this franchise. Having previously played Pete Peters, a tabloid photographer who got dissolved by acid in 2004’s Seed of Chucky, Waters has now been added to the cast of Chucky season 3, where he’ll be playing Wendell Wilkins, “the reclusive creator of the Good Guy dolls, who gets drawn into the psychopathic Chucky’s tangled web”.

As if we needed yet another reason to get excited about “Chucky” Season 3: Part 2, set to arrive next year, EW reports that filmmaker and Seed of Chucky alum John Waters is set to make his franchise return.
EW revealed that Waters will play Wendell Wilkins, the reclusive creator of the Good Guy dolls, who naturally gets caught in Chucky’s killer web. Waters previously played tabloid photographer Pete Peters, who met an acidic demise in 2004’s Seed of Chucky.
Waters’ appearance continues Mancini’s streak of bringing back the franchise’s players in exciting ways.
“Chucky” Season 3: Part 1 wrapped up with another over-the-top Halloween episode that ended on killer cliffhanger. Fret not, Season 3: Part 2 is on the way, and a brand new teaser ensured that Chucky’s ready to hit the ground running in 2024, promising an epic bloodbath.

Travis Braun’s screenplay Bad Boy, which follows a rescue dog who suspects that his loving new owner is a serial killer, topped the 2023 Black List today. The 19th edition, which was selected by more than 375 film executives, counts 76 feature screenplays by 80 writers.
Second place went to Justin Piasecki’s Stakehorse which follows a racetrack veterinarian who runs an off-the-books ER for criminals, and finds his practice and life in jeopardy when he’s recruited for his patient’s heist.
“This year, the industry was defined by a debate about the value of writers within it, and I think it’s inevitable that this year’s Black List means more than it has in the past,” said its founder Franklin Leonard. “I’ve been saying that writing is the lifeblood of the industry for almost twenty years now, and I’ll continue saying it until the industry actually starts acting like it.

Next year, The Fall Guy becomes a movie, with Ryan Gosling starring as Colt Seavers, the character that was originated by Lee Majors in the early-’80s TV show. Though Majors might be better known for The Six Million Dollar Man, he’s admitted he’s partial to his Fall Guy role. When Majors spoke at Wizard World a few years ago, he told the story of how he agreed to do the show on the spot after a random meeting with its producer, Glen A. Larson.(Click on the media bar below to hear Lee Majors) https://www.hollywoodoutbreak.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/Lee_Majjors_Fall_Guy_.mp3

Writer/director Guy Nattiv grew up during the time of Golda Meir, Israel’s fourth prime minister. She was also Israel’s first and only female head of government. They may not be General Zod or Darth Vader, but these characters are the kind of mundane villains you might encounter in everyday life...
The most memorable movie villains are often also the most outlandish. If you were to stop most strangers on the street and ask them to name screen villain, they’d probably either tell you to leave them alone and stop making them nervous, or they’d instead name one of cinema’s big hitters: heavy-breathing cloak-wearer Darth Vader, or flesh-eating aesthete Hannibal Lecter.
In reality, villains are more mundane. They seldom wear outlandish costumes, and they don’t necessarily even kill or injure people. Real-world villains can range from bullying and self-important bosses to aggressively opinionated news anchors, and from sadistic physical education teachers to heartless politicians.
So here are 10 or so screen antagonists who've stuck in the memory without wearing hockey masks,...

Fall is a hopeful time for TV viewers. Every new show is an unknown, save for a handful of promos and publicity photos and we're waiting to find out if the show lives up to the promise of a great idea or... withers away to inspire case studies of failure analysis.
There are few obvious trends this year. The New Normal and Partners both feature a gay couple among its lead characters while Arrow and 666 Park Avenue try to capture the Occupy Wall Street zeitgeist that helped make Revenge a hit. But overall, this fall lacks the "me too" quality that so often characterizes a TV season.
The one trend that does stand out this season are strong ideas that don't quite meet their potential in the pilot. Vegas, Last Resort, 666 Park Avenue and The Mindy Project are some of the pilots that left critics hoping that later episodes fix the rough spots.

In our interview with him posted yesterday, Michael Cudlitz (Officer John Cooper) let us know about the gay teen bullying storyline in this week's episode, warning us that it wasn't going to be “wrapped up in a nice, neat little bow”. We can't say he didn't warn us.
The episode opens with Dewey and some other officers on crowd control in front of a building. A cry goes up and the camera pans up to someone in pink dangling off the building. It's a teenage boy in a frilly dress and sneakers and Cooper has ahold of his ankle.
Ominous voiceover: “After twenty years on the job, Officer John Cooper has been wondering how his fellow officers will remember him. But right now, the only thing he can think about is hanging on.”
Flashback eight hours. Cooper begins his day at roll call, receiving a pin commemorating 20 years on the job.

This week, Fat Guy Kevin Carr strips down to his boxers and starts a new training regimen to make him look more like Huge Jackman. He’s got a head start, considering his torso looks almost like Jackman’s… if you turn it upside down. After duking it out with some robots in a boxing ring, Kevin tries his hands at politics because it’s the kind of business where you don’t necessarily have to look like Ryan Gosling to get a young hottie like Evan Rachel Wood. But the primary system leaves him depressed and cold, so he takes a trip to the Sudan to play target practice with some warlords. He hears the Sudan is simply lovely this time of year. When Melissa Leo blames her Academy Award f-bomb on her "Mildred Pierce" co-star, Kate Winslet, somehow it only makes Kate more attractive. And in the on-set visit (video below), Winslet's "Mildred Pierce" fellow cast members rave about her comedic antics, claiming that she had them rolling with laughter. I defy anyone not to fall in love with her.

As we all know by now, this Sundayis the Primetime Emmy Awards. And, as all the pop culture gurus of the worldponder the odds of what will win, we prefer to just lay it on the table andgive a shout out to the people and shows we want to see win. We’re notjournalists, we’re bloggers. We don’t have to be objective. We can say it likewe see it.
So with no further ado, here are some of our picks (and the fellow nominees)for the 62nd Annual Primetime EmmyAwards. Outstanding Comedy SeriesPASSIONISTAS Pick: Modern FamilyWHY: We’re big fans of Glee, Curb, and 30 Rock. But when all is said and done, we believe that Modern Family willlive in the top 10 list of best sitcoms of all time alongside The Dick Van Dyke Show, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, and The Bob Newhart Show.
